Aarden Air is our go-to supplier for any and all HVAC needs - furnaces, A/C, water heating, gas cooktops - we always call Aarden Air. The team at Aarden Air always comes equipped with anything and everything necessary for the job. They are polite, professional, easy to contact and on time to every job. We love working with Aarden Air and recommend them often.

It went well. We called with no heat on Monday; Dan came out on Tuesday and scheduled to put in a new furnace on Thursday. As he promised, I didn't have to do anything. He installed the furnace, programmed the thermostat and took our old furnace away. His price was substantially lower than another bid received.

My furnace stopped working at some point on Monday.  I started calling and leaving messages for furnace providers Monday evening to come out on Wed and diagnose the issue.  (due to having to travel for work on Tuesday Wed was the soonest I would be able to get the furnace looked at).  In conversation with a co-worker she mentioned that her husband uses Aareden Air at his work.  I called and lo and behold a real person answered and Dan came out Wed afternoon to take a look at the furnace.  (Note he had offered to come out Tuesday nite but since I was getting home so late I did not want to inconvenience him). Dan can out Wed. afternoon and called 30 mins before his arrival.  He climbed in the attic and quickly diagnosed the furnace as has having a burned out inginator.  Dan also took the time to tell me about the service history of my furnace, let me know the furnace was on its last legs and was on it's 5th inginator.  Dan gave me the pricing for a new furnace, and answered all my questions.  There was no hard sell he just wanted to ensure I had all of the information in order to make the decision between replacing the inginator or getting a new furnace. .  I chose to have Dan install a new furnace as I knew it was just a matter  of time that I would need a new furnace..  He installed it the next day (Thursday) and was at my house from 10 am to around 4 pm.  In addition to installing the furnace he looked at my duct work and did some magic so all rooms get heat (before some rooms were warmer than others).  Dan was pleasant, knowledgeable and as I mentioned a real person answered the phone!  I would use Dan again!

We found Aarden Air and Dan (owner and installer) almost by accident, and have been extremely satisfied with the installation, service, and prices associated with a variety of heating system and air conditioning services.  Dan is very knowledgable, competent, and pleasant.  He understands our exotic heating system far better than the people who installed it initially, and gave us good advice on split-duct air conditioner systems.  We've had to do trouble shooting on both systems, and would say the main problem is getting Dan to accept the payment he deserves for his outstanding service. Because Aareden is a small firm, we sometimes have to wait for service we wish were done sooner but, as one would be patient in waiting to see the best physician, we're more than willing to wait a few days for an opening in Dan's schedule.

Update: We called Dan again in July '15 because of a water leak in the ceiling. He came the same afternoon. Turned out to be a broken toilet, which he replaced promptly and correctly. We continue to recommend him highly for the whole range of plumbing work.

We called Dan on Thursday, when one of the Amana PTAC (portable terminal air conditioning) units in our condo continued to make intermittent clunking noises. This unit had been installed b y another contractor as a replacement unit in 2002, and had a history of problems - two circuit boards had been replaced by Aarden in the past 4 years. Dan diagnosed the problem as a failing compressor and quoted a price that was discounted by the cost of the last circuit board replacement and also offered a 5 years labor warranty on top of the 5 year Amana parts warranty. We accepted and he ordered the unit that afternoon - it arrived from the distributor quickly and was installed by Dan and his helper the following Monday. All the details of getting the new unit into and the old unit out of our building were handled by Dan, and the installation was quick, clean, and neat.

Since moving into our new home, we have been living with a rather annoying ticking sound our furnace has been making. The company that installed our furnace (MM Comfort Systems) was unwilling to do anything about it.Based on a recommendation, Aarden Air was referred to us. Mike came out for an analysis and scheduled us 2 days later. Mike and Jeff arrived on time to tackle the problem. They were able to locate and fix the problem in around 4 hours. They were very tidy and did minimal invasive damage to the walls to locate and fix the problem. It ended up being a PVC vent pipe that was expanding with heat and pushing up against a stud. They were able to address the noise.Mike was great to deal with, and Jeff who did a lot of the cutting and investigation was also great.Will be using Aarden from now on. They really treated us like this was a problem that mattered and had the experience and savvy to find and fix it.

Tech explained options of our failing furnace. They could fix it, but being 20 years old, it made more sense to replace it. We had a furnace go out in our previous house and had a competitor of Aarden replace it. We were not satisfied with that furnace nor the price. I feel we were scammed in that case, thus we will never use that company again (I won't say their name, but it rhymes with Rel-Bed Heating). This time we went with Aarden and the price on the furnace ($3500) was significantly lower than what competitor at our previous house charged ($5500). In fact, the furnace Aarden installed was bigger and more efficient. We also opted for AC unit, which was an additional $5000. We were very happy with service from Aarden and would use them again. They don't have fancy trucks plastered with marketing material, but then if you want that, you have to pay more. We've had the new furnace and AC for about a year, and haven't had any trouble with it.

Mike was great throughout. He quickly identified that our old furnace was dangerous and shut it down. His estimate for a new furnace was fair. He got us on the schedule quickly and showed up on time.

Mike builds in little things that others might not think of - like a separate filter tray for making changing the filter so much easier, and an extra outlet at the electrical switchbox for future convenience. Also, when he determined that a previously-closed-off fresh air return should be reopened and a new grill installed, he and his partner Jeff did that too - professionally and at nominal extra cost.

I would recommend Aarden Air for any heating and A/C needs.
