John converted my 850 square foot garage into a guest house last year. It was a fairly large project and I could not be happier with the results! John exhibits great attention to detail, and works closely with me to keep the price under control and the quality of work product high. He has my highest recommendation. He has recently renovated my garden shed and is my first choice for any size home improvement project I need done. If you hire him, I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

John saved my bacon on my new screened in porch. Previous work done was shoddy at best. He swooped in and redesigned and updated the screens, and finished the interior that had been left quite rough by the previous workers. I highly recommend John.

On schedule, on time and within budget. John did everything he could to corral the sub-contractors, make sure that the quality of work was up to specifications and was very attuned to the quality of the work. Subs and workers are always a challenge and keeping informed of delays and product availability was paramount.

I suffered some flood damage which destroyed about 900 SF of finished basement space. Everything had to be removed, cause diagnosed, and extensive repair work performed. Drywall, sanding, painting, new molding installed and matched throughout, both carpeting and luxury vinyl tile installed. We also completely re-did a bathroom, installing a tile shower, vanity, countertop and custom lighting. John managed the entire project and performed much of the skilled work personally. I especially appreciated the fact that he was determined at every turn to make sure that any potential future issues were identified/fixed now, while the walls were open, and maintaining a very high quality standard. Very approachable and enjoyable to work with. I would hire him again for any similar project without hesitation.

Fantastic. John is meticulous in details and doing the project right. The job was made harder due to an uneven, unlevel concrete pad and connecting to an existing structure but he worked through the problem. He shows up on time (a huge plus), honest in his billing, knows his business, works hard and was very easy to work with. We have another job we will be hiring him for as the weather improves.

This contractor is absolutely outstanding for producing quality work, from simple repair to top-to-bottom reconstruction. In one job he did for me, it involved rebuilding a kitchen after a fire and building new cabinets to match some still unburned 50 year old cabinets. Beautiful! In another job he did, he ripped a house apart down to the studs and rebuilt it as a luxury getaway cottage. Incredible attention to detail and high quality work!

John was there every day and saw to every detail. Was fully informed on progress, problems and was consulted on all decisons that had to be made. Workmanship was very good as John has very high standards. Items that did need minor rectification or rework were addressed in a timely manner without question or complaint.

John's work was excellent and we are pleased with our addition.  We recommend him highly.
John is the consummate professional.  He is very knowledgeable and skilled  in many aspects of construction.  He is reliable -- does what he says he's going to do.  John is a meticulous craftsman and very committed to doing quality work.  And he communicated well, keeping us informed of what was going on -- this was important to us as we don't live at the site where John was working.
Initially, we hired John to complete the "shell" and get the project "dried in" from weather.  We anticipated hiring other professionals to finish the interior.  However, after working with John, we decided to keep him on the job and finish the project.  He eventually did everything except electrical and the roofing.  He would have done the roofing, but we had already arranged for a roofer.  In addition to the foundation/footings and framing, John and his crew did the siding, drywall and interior painting.
John brought in additional help when needed and appeared to use them effectively.
John is all about the quality of his work.  If somebody is looking for a "quick and dirty" job, John may not be the guy.  He takes the time to do things right.  We were more interested in the quality of the finished product than saving money, so it worked well for us.

John was extremely prompt, courteous and professional. He made an appointment immediately, at a time convenient to our schedule. John arrived on time ready to work. It was our first experience with discussing the remodel. He had great suggestions, listened to our needs and brought enthusiasm to the project. As he worked on the 3D computer image, he told us how much he enjoyed this phase of the project. We still have decisions to make before we begin the remodel, but the whole experience and finished computer drawing was More than worth the price of the consultation. John is a great guy and gave us the creative kick start we needed.

From the very beginning and throughout the entire project, John Anderson proved that he was the finest example of professionalism.  I went to Angie's List because after 20 years of building homes and flipping houses I was completely discouraged with the quality of work I received.  Some were good for a short time, some new a lot about one area of construction but lacked the expertise in other areas, some overcharged without giving better services and most came and went according to their own schedule.  That was not true with Seabeck Construction.  The water damaged sustained was covered under my homeowner's insurance.  Consequently, the other Angie's List contractors did not want anything to do with the insurance company directly.  They made comments like "I'll come out to view the job only after the insurance company has given you an estimate of what they will pay" or "I don't want to deal with insurance companies" or "the insurance estimate is too low, I won't work for that".  NOT JOHN ANDERSON OF SEABECK CONSTRUCTION.  He looked over the estimate and noted they had far underbid many items and completely left out other items.  He talked to them, wrote them emails outlining the work left out and how much it would cost.  This took weeks.  He advised me throughout the process.  As a result I got almost $2500 more added to my payment award.  Initially, the bid he gave me was just over $10,000 (that was just for the water damage areas).  The lowest bid by three other contractors was just over $20,000.  When the job started he arrived on time, was clean, well spoken, hardworking and cordial.  There was never a day he wasn't clean shaven, newly washed and in clean clothes.  He never swore or made me listen to offensive loud music all day.  Not once did I see a butt crack.  He spent the whole day, five days or more a week at my house doing the job.  It was like the only thing that mattered to him was finishing my project.  After over 20 years of personal experience doing and watching construction being done I had a lot of ideas about how to make things better.  John always come back with a better, more solid solution.  For instance, a manufactured home, of this age, has only 2 x 2" interior walls.  I wanted them to be 2 x 4" walls.  John said if we make the laundry room wall 2 x 6 he can put the lint tube directly into the wall (thus preventing the tube from coming loose and spilling the dryer lint onto the floor).  He had numerous other great ideas. At first I was set on just the repairs but when I saw how good a job John Anderson was doing, I decided I wanted more work done.  Sometimes, my decisions would change abruptly but John honestly never showed any indication of annoyance.  He kept on saying "I just want you to be completely happy with the work that is being done that is all I care about".  The one area that John did not feel he could met a high level of professional service was plumbing (I was impressed that he would care enough about my little project to do only the best work).  So he brought in a plumber that was licensed and highly skilled.  I felt very good about his choice and the man showed the same level of professionalism as John.  John was, however, an expert at everything else... to the finest detail.  Finish work is all about the details.  A good job only looks fair if great attention is not put on the details.  John was meticulous in everything.  From the beginning to the end.  Everything was exact from leveling, painting, priming, finish work and chalking.  He NEVER SKIPPED A PROCESS; like mudding only twice or buying paint with the primer in it or skipping under flooring or using not enough construction glue.  The cabinets, tub surround and flooring were done so they would hold up to use and remain solid.  I watched the whole process very carefully, and I can say with complete honesty I have never seen a better contractor.  I have given out his name to many people and will continue to do so.  I don't have a million dollar house but the work he did on my two little rooms looks like they would be in one.  There is not one thing that this man lacks.  Thank you, John, for a wonderful construction experience.

In-home design consultation; I learned things about my kitchen that I hadn't in the 12 years I lived here.
Project scheduling and planning; timing the project around my schedule and providing a detailed day-by-day
  plan.
Demolition and construction; overall work done was professional and John's extensive experience proved invaluable
  overcoming the "hidden" problems encountered.
Contract completion; the only reason the project took longer than scheduled was some damaged cabinet molding that
  had to be re-ordered.

The experience with Seabeck Construction LLC was fine, we like not to follow forward with the plans but the company was very responsive and I think that he made a good effort to meet our needs. We just couldn't go through with the plans at that time. There was some delay on our part. I would just give them A's across the board. He didn't actually do any contracting work for us, but he was responsive and he answered our e-mails promptly and took our phone calls, a very nice man. Everything he said was reasonable, his estimates were good. I don't have any complaints.

We started with a bare-wall kitchen and bathroom.   Except for tub installation, John did the entire job of installation of cabinets and fixtures.   He showed up when promised; asked questions when he needed a specific answer; suggested wise solutions to serious problems (and taught me some new words in describing those problems!).

While we have some general ideas of how we want our kitchen remodeled, we want to thoroughly understand the materials to be used, the quality of construction, color schemes and coordination, and the type, style, and color of the cabinetry. We got none of this from Seabeck Construction. What we did get was a sketchy idea of what our final kitchen might look like and an open-ended contract with no real idea of what the project might cost or when and how we would be able to pick materials, colors, quality of construction, etc.
When given a second chance, Mr. Anderson was willing to come over to discuss our plans. He was, though, terse in his reply, to wit: ?If adding a west wing to accommodate your needs is the proper thing to do, then by all means it shall be done?? Our kitchen is large, 290 square feet, and on the east side of our house; we never suggested adding onto our house.
Anderson seemed, too, to place his own conceptions above ours, e.g. ?I have been designing kitchens for 25 yrs.? Being the guy that must take a concept on paper and make it materialize in the real world, I tend to focus on the nut and bolt aspect first. That is I want all the pieces to fit together and function with a focus on how this or that is going to impact your daily life. Once function is determined then I take a step back and let the decorators do their steps of colors and wood tones.?
After further reflection and consideration, we decided that we could not make this deal work out for our needs. We will be looking elsewhere for a true design that we can visualize and monetize before signing any contracts.

John worked with us very smoothly and efficiently working around everyday living.  He removed cabinets and carpet from the kitchen...took an old closet transformed it into a refrigerator garage to free up space.  Installed hardwood floors in the kitchen dining room and utility area.  Installed new along with the older cabinets (fantastic match too) with new counter tops.  Excellent job!  True honest craftsman.  My mother has lived in her house since 1970 and is very pleased with the remodel.

The overall experience was very positive.  His time line was exact.  His estimate of cost was right on.  He listened to exactly what I wanted and his ability to design and create from my vision was amazing. John did all of the little extra's too, such as the extra shelves for CD's and plenty of room for cookbooks.  I absolutely love my book shelves!  John was a pleasure to work with, he was professional and took great care with the job he was given.
