We obtained information about replacement flooring from searches on the Internet and from visits to local tile retailers. Once having decided on the use of porcelain plank style tile and having picked a tile, we used recommendations from the tile retailers and from Angie's List to select a number of tile installers. We got a number of bids. By far, the most comprehensive was from Wilson Tile. And that can be attributed to the diligence, interest, and personable nature of its estimator, Sean. It was an easy decision to pick this company, even though its bid was in the middle. That decision was spot on - Sean worked with us on all of the details and met all of his commitments. We arranged to have the work done while we were absent from the condo for an extended period, and made sure that the workplace was as prepared as possible. The person doing the installing did an accurate and precise job. And the mess during installation was removed so that the condo appeared as we had left it. After we had settled up, we noted that there were some minor grout haze marks on the floor surface. Sean came over and removed this marks himself. The result is perfection in a floor that will outlast us.

We were referred to Wilson Tile through our designer.  Jeff came out within just a couple of days to discuss the job and we met the following week at his studio to pick out tiles.  The work started and finished exactly on time and budget.  His employee Drew showed up every day on time and put in a full day of work.  He left the work area neat and tidy every day, which we greatly appreciated.   He takes great pride in his work and it shows in the quality.  He has been with Wilson Tile for may years and I think that speaks highly to the company.  We are very happy with their work and would definitely recommend them.

This 3-day job (a few hours each day) went smoothly and without a hitch. It took less time than estimated. Efficient, on-time, communicative. Would definitely use again.

We were in the midst of a disastrous remodel with a contractor we had to part ways with when the work on our guest bath was only halfway completed.  Luckily, we found Jeff through the designer we were working with and he came to our rescue.  He and his team repaired some tiling that had been shoddily done and finished the work on the guest bath.  They did all the work on our master bath from the demolition to the final details and we couldn't be happier. The work was beautifully done.  Jeff is extremely professional and efficient.  We had a deadline we were hoping to meet and he kept the project moving along.  He was on top of every detail and the project  was completed before our deadline.  All the sub contractors he used were excellent.  Dave, the tiler, did an outstanding job.  He was always on time and worked tirelessly everyday, all day.  Jeff was always available for questions or consultation and kept us in the loop every step of the way.  We knew exactly who was showing up and when.  And his price was very competitive with other companies we looked at before starting our project.  We only wish that we would've used Wilson Tile from the start of our project.  We can't say enough good about them!

We are both architects and are quite particular about the contractors whom we allow to work in our home.  Based upon Angie's List reviews, we contacted Matt Black of Madrona Tile.  During our initial conversation, he informed us that he had joined Wilson Tile.
Bottom line, everything went well from start to finish.  We received an estimate with options as requested along with the appropriate contractual paper work.  Instead of making assumptions, good questions were asked during the process.  The job came in on budget.  The gentleman (Andrey) that worked in our home was punctual, pleasant and professional.  Matt oversaw the work and facilitated procuring our choice of finish materials.  We requested and received low VOC products.  Mess was kept to a minimum.  We highly recommend Wilson Tile and will use them again on future projects.

Originally I had thought I might get this done before Xmas but the schedules didn't match so March it was.  Matt, (who was Madrona Tile now merged with Wilson Tile) came out and promptly in November and gave us a bid and suggested the subfloor needed to be reinforced to have the job be a success, something they would have done.  The house slopes toward the street and is barely flat so we were not surprised.   We accepted the bid and elected to do the crawl space work  ourselves.  We also elected to do the demolition to save $500.  Please think twice before doing this yourself unless you have access to a truck and a RotoHammer.  Getting up the slate was easy, it was the 4"of mortar underneath that surprised all of us.  The tile was a nightmare.  It was well attached to the leveling compound used over the old floor, which in itself is impervious to sledge hammer and chisel.  It took two days not a couple of hours and the above mentioned tool and included a 1000lb run to the transfer station.  I am sure Matt and company would have had as much trouble.  The bill was increase by $700.  because of the extra mortar and leveling compound needed to prepare for the tile which I think was reasonable.  The job was bid for 25 hours and took five days.  I am sure old houses provide surprises all the time.
I went to the industrial area and shopped for tile at several places where Matt got a discount.   It was great,  they could call their supplier and tell you what was available, Home Depot 2-4weeks maybe.  Matt picked up the tile.  The installer was a pleasant person and did a great job prepping and laying the tile.  I used a 6" tile that looks like slate, dark with a lighter pattern.  He had a good sense of how to lay it out and incorporate the two tones and the grout lines.  He also gave us several options to deal with the sill problem to avoid a split in the same place the old tile cracked.  They were also very careful with our two cats who are not allowed outside.
We are very pleased with the result and are the wiser for the experience

Went great.  The project started with Jeff coming by to see what the project was.  Then went to their showroom to work with their designer on picking out tiles.  After a short conversation, they had a good idea of what we were looking for and provided a few samples (from a very large variety of sample they had on site--the selection in big box stores don't even come close), which we took home to consider.  One that we hadn't seen or considered before turned out to be our choice.
Installation occurred over 4 days, and things progressed exactly as promised.
1st day to prep for tiling, which involved tearing out the existing tile and install backer board
2nd day to lay the tile
3rd day to grout
4th day to seal
Notes on the install
Installation of the tiles was done perfectly
Received an update from Jeff daily on how the project was going
Installers didn't make a mess, and things were cleaned up daily
Also repaired a few tiles on the bathroom countertop that had come loose
After the project was complete, we still can't believe how great the floor looks.  Can honestly say that we haven't seen any other floor that would look better.

I had passed by Wilson tile many times on metro buses. I called and described the nature of the job. [Wilson tile is only about a mile from my home]. Sean scheduled a time when he could come out and look. He examined the floor and soon e-mailed me an estimate, which accepted. We e-mailed a couple of times to find a mutually agreeable time for the service. On the appointed afternoon [12/7], Sean arrived and was joined a few minutes later by Dave, another member of his staff. The whole job?cutting and removing the chipped tile and installing and grouting the new square?only took about 20-30 minutes. Dave cleaned up the floor and left all in top shape.

On Day 1 they showed up exactly ON-TIME. The installer was very professional with great work ethic. Finished install looks great ... We'll surely look to use them again for next phase of remodel.

This shower had leaked for years, despite numerous attempts to fix it.

Having Wilson Tile rebuild our shower was a delightful experience. How often do you get to say that about a contractor?

The job was perfectly done, with thorough professionalism, with high consciousness, with attention to detail from beginning to end, cleanliness, and with respect and consideration for our household throughout the job.

The finished shower is awesome. I am very glad that we didn't try to get by with a cheaper half-fix or something. This perfection cost more than we would have paid for temporary repair or half-fix with short-cuts, but it is a long-term investment in our house and in our family's comfort, and I am very pleased with the results.

Jeff Wilson, the owner, was very responsive. He came over the same day (we live close to the business) and gave me a bid. He also agreed to set tile that I had already purchased (not their normal preference since the like to place the order to ensure proper quantity). They were able to slot us into a hole in their schedule and started the work right away. The crew was prompt, friendly and professional, and cleaned up after themselves each day. They did a beautiful setting and finishing the tile. It looks great.
