Josh was always punctual and was here when he said he'd be each day. His work day didn't end at 5:00, but rather when he reached a good stopping place where he could easily pick up where he left off. He didn't take breaks or lunch that I could see -- he simply quietly went about his work with absolutely no disturbance to me. When I had another service person come to check a piece of medical equipment that had nothing to do with what Josh was working on,, and Josh happened to be working on the front door close to where he could have easily overheard our conversation,, he quietly excused himself so as not to overhear my conversation with the medical provider I was talking to. Josh is out of his element in this century. His work ethic is what we could have expected in the 19th century. I trust him completely and he will be my only painter from now on. You won't find anyone who will do a better job at a more reasonable price, I guarantee it, and will respect your property as if it was his own.

The owner was prompt, arriving at the time we had discussed over the phone. He also went out of his way to meet me even though it was after 5 o’clock. He was professional and to the point asking relevant questions and discussing possible problems. He finished the job on time with a high quality of work. We are more than happy with his work and attitude always going that extra mile. In short - We highly recommend him.

We recently purchased a 2nd home on Harstine Island near Shelton, WA. The house was built 16 years prior and covered in cedar shingles and had been stained when first built but never re-stained. The stain was very worn on 2 sides of the house to the point of being almost non-existent. On the other two sides (in less direct sunlight) we really loved the 'salty' color so we decided we wanted to stain the house the original color. As luck would have it, there were no old stain cans to use as a reference. We knew we'd have to match the color somehow.
We found Josh's paint company on Angie's list. We called him and another vendor from the list and set up an appointment. Josh showed up on time and we discussed what we wanted. He spent about an hour with us discussing the house and the work that needed to be done and then gave us an estimate then and there. It was extremely fair. Then the fun began - matching the house color with available stains. It took several days to get the right color with the right stain (we settled on Benjamin Moore Arborcoat Semi-solid latex stain). Josh helped picked up stain colors to test on the house and together we decided what best matched.
Josh is a one-man shop. It took him a while to stain the house, but OMG it looks terrific. The quality of his work shines and he left no messes. We had agreed on a price with an estimated # of gallons of stain/paint, but we specifically told him that if he needed more stain/paint to buy it and we'd cover the cost. I didn't want him to stretch the stain/paint just to make the budget. He did not take advantage of this exception! Remember, this is a cedar shake house that hadn't been stained in 16 years - he was off by 4 gallons. Not a big deal!
Bottom line - if all vendors were like Josh then there'd be no need for Angie's list. I'd highly recommend him and have already asked if he'd work in the location of my main residence.

Josh was extremely professional and punctual. He came when he said he would and was very flexible with working with our schedule and the weather. He gave an honest assessment of the house and what it needed done and gave and accurate estimate that he stuck with. He began by pressure washing and cleaning the outside, then caulked windowsills and other areas, and then he painted the trim. His cleanup and care for landscaping was exceptional, if the house didn’t look brand new you would never know he was there.
I plan on using Eastman Painting again next spring to touch up the interior prior to putting the house on the market as a rental.

I was really happy with this job - the company is a one-man-band so it took a little longer than a big company might but the finished product is great. The quote was very fair, the work done speedily (except when it was raining of course!), the finish great with some nice little touches (like painting my house numbers in the trim colour so they stand out). Josh gave me good advice about how to choose the paint and asked all the right questions about how I wanted the house to look. He came promptly when he said he would, he worked fast and he kept me informed of any changes (like not coming when it rained). I am so pleased, I have asked him to quote for some inside painting as well. As a single woman, having a completely reliable contractor is very important to me and I have no hesitation in recommending Josh Eastman.

It looked great and he was always on time. I was happy with the price and happy all around. I don't think they were the cheapest, but they were well priced.

Excellent. Very trustworthy. We left him at our home without any supervision. Kept everything clean. He even helped letting our dog out to go potty. We used his services a handful of times. Everytime a painting need comes up, we called Josh. Latest project was done March 2010.

The job went extremely well and as promised. The work itself was excellent and the job flowed smoothly. Josh takes pride in his work!
