Spencer Roofing and Siding LLC

They replaced a non leaking torn roofing panel, and resealed all roof penatrations. The new panel leaked onto my Jodal Fireplace shorting out the control module. They did attempt to fix the leak. It didn't leak over the summer, but has started leaking again. I contacted Spencer, who told me sorry you have a leak, but I Sold the company. That was the last contact from them.

Spencer Roofing is awesome! The cost of the job is not listed, as I feel it could be an unfair reference depending on who reviews the details. I will say that of 8 different quotes received, Spencer Roofing was among the 3 least expensive.
 On the first day, 7 roofers showed up and :

• removed the old cedar shake and felt
• removed the fireplace vent pipe
• repaired the soffit and replaced the associated facia board
• Installed 75% of the new plywood and associated roofing felt
• Thoroughly cleaned up all debris from the days work before leaving.

Day 2:
The remaining plywood and felt was installed
Almost half of the asphalt shingles were in place by end of day
Flashing was expertly installed in places where it wasn't before
Job materials and debris were picked up and removed at end of day.
Day 3:
Shingles were completed
Required flashing was finished and in place
Day 4:
Skylights were removed and replaced with new
Gutters were cleaned of roofing debris
Roof was inspected thoroughly
Roof jacks and associated lumber were removed
Grounds were carefully checked with use of magnet to remove nails and flashing scraps.
With exception of the final work day, the outside temperature did not get above 32 degree's. The crew never complained, and were all very friendly and polite. I'm completely satisfied and feel confident my roof will perform better than ever for a long time to come. My decision to use Spencer Roofing was partly based on review of several of their completed roofing jobs in my local area. I liked what I saw, as did my wife (the boss).

Work was done as scheduled and in a timely manner.

It went very well. He stuck to the bid, the workers were extremely dilligent and fast. They were courteous and cleaned up each day. The job went very smoothly.

Spencer was on time and did a great job. The roof looks wonderful! When I wanted more vents he added them. He returned my calls. My only complaint is Spencer was a bit abrupt to my son and a worker from the gas company. Maybe he was in a hurry.

All the work was done on time and within budget. However, the roof has ripples. In hindsight, the structure of the roof needed beefing up (which would have been extra and would have been ok) and they should have recomended and done. Now we have ripples and dips/sags. Not happy.

He was good. He seemed honest and fair priced and I would recommend him. He did the clean up and everything. He did everthing in a timely manner.

Mike had no idea why we had a leak and couldn't find a cause. He spent about 15 minutes and charged us $200. I'd definitely not recommend Spencer Roofing.

We had a leak in the roof that resulted in damage to an interior wall.
Called THREE other roofers in the area with NO SHOWS or NO RESPONSE.
Called Spencer Roofing, left message, and received a call the very next morning asking if he could come out. Mike was out within the hour! Found the problem, fixed the problem, and left. We called the office because he left without us paying him. His receptionist advised the bill and quot;after the factand quot;. Received a bill within the week. We have had many more rain storms since he repaired the roof and there is no futher leak. Now we need to fix the interior wall. THANKS Mike!!!

Mike Spencer came out and did the estimate to remove old shake roof and install new metal root. He was prompt and courteous.
The bid was the lowest of the four we got. The bid was not as detailed as the other companies, and this is something I wish he would do better. For example, he only states he will install all necessary flashings. The other companies specify what those are. We were not sure they installed certain edge flashings at the end of the panels where the panels come down to the gutters because we could see the edge of the plywood under them. We asked about that in a phone call after the roof was installed, and he had not yet inspected the finished job, but said he would the next day. We were out of town, but never got a phone message from him confirming that all the necessary flashings had, indeed, been installed. They may have been, but we have not yet heard from him re: that question. At this point, it appears that all is well. His crew worked diligently and cleaned up everything, finishing the job in two days. It looks nice, but we will need to wait until the wind, raiin and snow test it to know about the performance of the installation and product.

They responded. They came right out in between storms and they fixed it. It matched and it didn't even need to because nobody can that. They were great, helpful, and friendly. The clean up was perfect and they didn't leave any nails. If we need a new roof I would definitely talk to them about install a whole new roof.
