ZENITH ROOFING AND CONTRACTING LLC

In August 2018 Zenith Roofing (Jon Goldstone) removed the old shingles down to the plywood, made minor repairs to the plywood, removed an unused chimney, and installed architectural grade shingles. He took care to protect the garden beds that surround the house. He did an excellent job from start to finish, and was prompt, efficient and easy to work with. Earlier in the year we hired Zenith Roofing to repair a minor leak (the company is on a recommended list of contractors from the PNA Village in Seattle). At that time Jon quickly solved the problem and recommended that we replace the roof. We got three bids for the roof replacement job and Zenith's was the lowest. We enthusiastically recommend him for roofing jobs.

Went fine. Provided good input to the general contractor regarding how to tie in the existing roof membrane, install fascia, cover the tapered insulation etc. He was on-site about 2 days.

John did everything one could ask of a contractor. A prompt reply to my request for a bid with a detailed and more than competitive proposal, followed by an accurate prediction of his availability led to a professional, personally performed installation with no mess and no extras. You really needn't waste the time I did vainly trying to get bids from others. For quality, price and responsiveness, Zenith is the way to go.

Jon was great to work with at all phases of the project. The quote came back quickly. He worked around our construction schedule and was prompt, courteous and efficient. He was in and out in 3 days and the roof looks great. We have recommended him to several neighbors and friends.

I could not have been happier with Jon and Zenith. They did an excellent job from start to finish. Jon gave me an initial estimate more quickly than anyone else I had contacted, and took time to answer my questions and explain the materials and process in detail (as a new homeowner I knew next to nothing about roofs). He was prompt (even contacting me to suggest moving up the start date in order to get the job done before upcoming rain in the forecast), fair, professional and communicative. I had contractors working on some other projects in the house, and he took the time to come in and talk with the contractors about duct/vent issues he had discovered while working on the roof, and to collaborate with them about what could be done to fix them. My house has several skylights that had been leaking previously, and he explained what the problem had been with them and how he would fix it. The roof looks great, and was completed right on schedule at exactly the price I thought I would pay. Given the estimates I received from other contractors, I am confident that I got an excellent value for what I paid, both in terms of the quality of the work Jon did, and the professionalism and thoroughness of the service he and his company provided. I would recommend Jon and Zenith to anyone.

The work was excellent. John was prompt, responsive, and very easy to discuss the project with. Went to the trouble to find a replacement skylight that was much less costly than the original. I would very highly recommend this company to anyone for roofing.

Jon was very easy to work with and seems to know his profession. He gave us a couple of estimates. One for metal and another for composite. The metal was more than I wanted to spend (however his estimate of $7,000 for metal was substantially below the $24,000 estimate I received from another contractor). We decided to go for composite, but after discussing our location (open to storms off the sound) we decided to upgrade the thickness of the composite. Jon helped us work through the options. He did all the work himself and our framers commented on his quality. Our lead framer recommended Jon to us. I then checked and saw that he had a couple of excellent reports on Angie's list so we hired him for our job.

We could not have been happier with Zenith. The owner Jon is very conscientious and he did all of the work on our house. We were referred to him through Stoneway Roofing and he immediately responsed to our inquiry, came out to the house and submitted an estimate all within a few days time. When we talked to him the kind of shingle we were looking for, he suggested that we consider Marlarkey. We had not seen that brand as all of the other roofing companies we were talking to were very focused on selling us Certainteed or Elk. It was exactly the look we were seeking and it's a high quality product. Before the roofing started Jon spent some time with our builder to understand how all of the different roof lines would intersect and how the areas that were overframed would be roofed. He identified a couple of tricky areas and offered up possible solutions (and didn't change his bid). As the job progressed he also identified and solved a couple of other problems such as roofing nails going through the exposed eaves/soffit area. He also worked quickly and efficiently. Not only were we happy with his work, but our builder also praised his work and thoughtfulness. Jon is a small outfit and his pricing is very competitive. We had several other bids and Jon gave us the best product and price. Given the complications of our roof, we felt the other companies would "nickle and dime" us on a host of other small costs - not the case with Jon. Though we ended up paying slightly more than his estimate, they were all additional charges that we requested. Jon is a great alternative to the big roofing companies in town. He is trustworthy, offers personalized service, a very competitive price and high quality work. We would absolutely hire him again.
