The owner, TJ, came by for the walk-through and provided a thorough description of how he would approach the job and he was very personable. I received the estimate within a couple of days and it was detailed and competitively priced compared to the other estimates I received. The long string of rainy weather days delayed the start of the project, but once the weather cleared, things proceeded at a decent pace. The work was done by the crew and by TJ himself and everyone was polite and did their job well. Once things got started, I decided to increase the scope of work and we received a revised estimate for the additional work that was reasonable. TJ has a good sense of paint color combinations and that was helpful to the project. The painters really did a great job with all of the final details to make sure that the paint lines were straight and crisp where the body color met the trim color. We will definitely get an estimate from Versatile Painting when we it is time for interior painting since we know they will do a great job.

I have a 1924 stucco tudor.  Because of its southwest exposure, the wood windows and trim need frequent attention. In the 20 years I've lived here, the wood trim on these sides have been regularly touched up every few years.  In 2007, I decided to repaint the entire house, the stucco as well as the trim.  I rec'd 3 bids.  Versatile submitted the highest, promising to put the most paint on the house. They literally painted with little or no scraping and sanding, using only a pressure washer. Many of the windows failed (bubbled paint) immediately.  The following summer I asked for the windows on the west side be redone.  TJ O'Bey, Versatile's owner, argued that there were leaks somewhere "in" the house that were causing the bubbling.  Since I had no leaks before, I insisted the windows be repainted. He argued that the problem wasn't his fault. Again they failed and although he was supposed to return I decided to have another painter look at the situation. Now 4 yrs later, the windows have rotted and the adjacent stucco has lifted. The new painter pointed out that none of the windows had been caulked where they met the stucco, allowing the rain the accumulate. (This was probably removed by the power washing, and Versatile missed it 2 yrs in a row.)  Now the entire south and west sides of my house have to be repaired and repainted. Significant rot has set it at the wood windows and the adjacent stucco has needed to be replaced.  Absolutely the worse paint job imaginable, especially in light of the cost and the fact that it has be re-done so soon.

TJ and his team first pressure washed the house, then thoroughly repaired the exterior by caulking, filling holes, and repairing the integrity of the siding with spackle and Bondo. My house was in pretty bad shape, so they had their work cut out for them! They did extensive prep work with sanding and priming. I was very impressed with how much time and care they put into preparing the house. They were very careful about protecting the windows, hardware, and landscaping. They primed first with a high quality primer which is an excellent  sealer. Then they did a wonderful job painting the exterior body of the house with two coats on the trim, the front door, and accent pieces. They are perfectionists, and were meticulous about their work, and it shows! My house looks fabulous! It has truly transformed.

TJ is a true professional - he takes his work very seriously and is proud to provide an excellent job. He is extremely knowledgable and a really nice guy to boot. His crew is a friendly group of people as well, and they are all very good at what they do.

I couldn't be happier with the work performed. From someone who seems to have the gift of hiring bad contractors ... I finally picked a winner!
