URBAN REMODELING - RENOVATION

Excellent experience, very high quality work. The team of two professionals arrived right on time, clearly understood the project, and completed the work effectively and promptly. We would use them for future projects and recommend to anyone with a residential need.

This service was terrible. They left trash at my house and were not respectful of my budget. They said to me one thing then went ahead and did another. Awful at commutation of what they were doing. And took full advantage of a new home owner.

Brilliant person and easy to work with! First hired Bill for Installing a Basement Door to my office study and he did it in such a beautiful way just see the picture. After that he did additional basement upgrades and a in-wall kitchen area television with custom molding and millwork (see pictures). I would recommend Urban Renovation to anyone who wants remodeling done or very nice carpentry services especially. Thanks guys A+++

Would we hire them again. We already have and would do so again. As an engineer, I was impressed with the overall quality. Some workmen can do the "rough" work and some the "finish" work. I was struck with how they do both so well. During the first job, I asked them to route co-ax cable and ethernet cables to deliver signals to the living room. They did this competently. They were responsive to our requests and didn't consider the job finished until we were happy.

I phoned and talked to Bill, who asked to see a photo, which I sent. He said he’d have to charge their minimum and asked if I needed anything else done. I did not, but really appreciated his asking. He asked if it would be okay to just come past sometime when he was between jobs, without making an appointment, which was fine. A few days later, he showed up, and fixed the gate impeccably. I will definitely keep him in mind for future jobs.

Great. Bill (the owner) went over the plans in detail. He said it would take a couple of months. It took 2-1/2. Bill and his crew asked about specific details. They were very responsive – this was a real plus for the team. In addition to the three rooms, they placed a drain in the driveway which led to a gravel-filled trench downhill away from the house. This solved the puddling problem we had before. The electrical and plumbing subcontractors were quite helpful and very responsive to our requests. Their work was first rate. We had planned to hire another masonry contractor later to add a new fascia to our fireplace. We mentioned this to one of the workers and this task was added. Bill was very helpful in picking the tile to go with our living room décor. The results are exquisite. Overall, we are delighted with the results and the quality of the workmanship. We would certainly hire them again.

Arrived a little after the promised window - about 30 minutes. On site, Bill and his partner did a great job of repairing the trim. Replaced the rotted wood and fitted the irregular shape of the shingles. Added back the top metal sheath, re-caulked and painted.
I appreciated his noticing the gap between siding and trim - not related to the vent but about 20 feet down the side of the house. The re-caulking and paint touch-up was cleanly done.
Bill did a good job. I would use his services again.

Overall, well. Bit of a scheduling issue, but Bill was polite and apologized and made it happen. :)

It was great. I like their pay by the hour model. I was able to stay and do everything within budget and they are honest. They figured out ways to make me happy and they are very friendly. The scheduling was very good and they were on time every morning to do the job. They managed to do the work in a very short time.

They were sloppy and unprofessional. They wouldn’t show up for days at a time and we wouldn’t hear from them. They have poor communication. I would not use them again.

The job went really well, it was within the timeframe and budget that we talked about, which was a concern for me in the beginning.  Bill and his crew are really good at what they do.  I would recommend Urban Renovation and I would use them for future  projects..  The game plan went as expected, it was really nice to work with one company that could handle the whole project for me.

I don't work so I was here when they did it. Bill was here in the beginning and end, but the guys who were out were fantastic. They were really professional and I had no problems having them here.

It went very well and the ceilings looked especially good when Bill was done. He set clear expectations in a very professional manner and everything went according to how he laid the job out. Definitely would use him again.

The project overall went great and our final product is awesome. I was happy with the contractor mostly because he didn't promise what he couldn't deliver. In addition he has some nice guys that work for him so that made a difference. I was surprised at the way he was able to put my ideas into action. I like the designbuild aspect because it allowed for more creativity. The job did take just a little longer than expected but as I have learned I guess that is to be expected. I guess one week over isn't all that bad. My home is amazing, from the paint to the tile I avery pleased with the work urban renovation did. I would give them a referral to any of my friends.

Bill Davis sent over an inexperienced crew that was not familiar with the basic tools of the trade: a level, a square, and a measuring tape! Sure, he had his crew do everything the inspectors wanted, but the basic problems created by not leveling, measuring, and squaring have added greatly to our finishing costs and to our frustration. We wanted this remodel to be quality work but ended up with a job that is woefully substandard in many respects. The whole experience made me realize that homeowners need to carefully monitor work on a daily basis. It also made me realize that references do not always tell the whole story about a company -- particularly if the jobs referenced are much simpler ones.

I was throughly impressed with the quality of work and organization that Bill and his crew showed through the duration of the project. Bill fulfilled all the promises he made and was great at communicating what we should expect. It was obvious that he takes pride in his work and I was refreshed by his honesty.
