Seattle, WA 701511 5/6/2023Updated review 3 photos Big thanks to Scott Johnston at Tuff Shed in Everett. We worked with him to design our perfect shed. Ordering was so easy - we told him what we were thinking and what we wanted to use the space for. He provided great info and recommendations to help us make it just right. This guy knows his stuff and is really great to work with! Shed delivery and build came so much quicker than we expected...only 2 weeks from ordering! Josh Samora and his crew did an amazing job onsite. They were friendly, organized, and efficient. They checked in a few times to make sure we were on the same page and that they were installing the work bench, pegboards and shelves where we wanted them. This is our second Tuff Shed from Scott and we'll definitely go back if we need another...we can't recommend him highly enough. Even the dogs approve!

The professional sales representative provided good service. The shed was well built. We also paid for repairs due to a storm since the shed was built. Still waiting for the paint job that was promised in the original contract over one year ago. We paid the $9,989.00 in the contractual agreement and one year later we are still waiting for the paint job. They said we are still on the paint crew waitlist. So disheartening. Disappointing service and unfulfilled promises.

Total lack of communication, customer service or follow through. Plus the ultimate product we got was not even close to what we expected. Avoid this place at all costs. There is no leadership here and a complete lack of integrity. We are now working with their corporate office in Colorado to hopefully get things resolved. Very disappointed in Tuff Shed.

This was a big project. I worked with Theo Vervilles in the Tukwilla office. He was great to work with from start to finish. Very knowledgeable and responsive. He ensured I got everything from the building I wanted and that it was completed in a quality manner. He went above and beyond helping me get this garage built.

Ordering went well with no problems. Phone and email conversations went well and were punctual prior to installation. Was a bit of a mist falling day of installation and the second coat of paint could not be applied. Communications about painting and safety hazards have been one way since the install. We are stuck with an unfinished shed in view of the public. We will now have to finish that portion. What we are also concerned about is that nails on the back (and now inaccessible) side of the shed missed the stud and protrude into the interior. We do not know if the siding is secure to the stud or not. Due to the gloom and later part of the day, there was not enough light to see the nails before the installers left.

They did a good job. However, I had to wait for one year to get it painted due to their busy schedule and bad weather.

Communication with the company was a bit rough, getting passed around different people, but workable.  The installation did not go so well because they cut out one of the vents in the wrong location even after I made sure to verify with them before they started work.
Details:
I got their details through a pamphlet in Home Depoot.  The rep's information (Carrie) was stamped on the front so I called it and left a message.  I did not get a callback in a couple of days so I called again and was able to talk to Carrie.  I gave her the details for the shed that I wanted (6x8 SR-600) and she said someone from billing will send me a quote.
I got an email from Isabel with a form and some options.  I picked out my options and got an agreement from Isabel.  I thought that Carrie was supposed to contact me but instead I got an email from Erica a few days later.  She sent me the scheduled installation date and asked me to verify the final sketch of the shed (with locations of the vents).  I also emailed her some pictures of the area where I want the shed installed because I was worried about the shed door possibly hitting my AC unit.  Erica told me that she'll ask Carrie to contact me so Carrie can come out in person to verify.
I did not get a call from Carrie so I called Erica again.  Carrie did not get back to me until the day before the installation and I had to tell her I had no time to meet with her (since I was at work) so we'll just have to "wing" it.
The day of the installation, two guys came promptly at 9am.  They were very courteous and went right to work.  As they were laying out the parts of the shed, I came out to talk to them to make sure they cut out and install the vents in the correct locations (since I had told Erica to move them when she emailed me the sketches).  The guys agreed and I went back inside the house.
They two guys finished a little after lunch time and had already cleaned up their tools.  I went with one of the guys to inspect the final shed.   Only then did I notice that they put one of the vents in the wrong location (both vents were towards the front of the shed).
I was very disappointed because I did come out to verify the vent locations with them before they started work.  Now, I'm waiting for them to come back and cut out a 3rd vent in the back of the shed so there would be cross ventilation.
Also, I wish they would've just had one person (i.e. Carrie) interface with the customer instead of 3.  The process would've gone smoother and faster without the miscommunications that happened.

Rick at the Tukwilla store location was a pleasure to work with.  He was professional and very thorough, and we had good communication throughout the project.  He made the process of laying out and purchasing very easy.
Sheds are good quality for pre-built and for the price.  Installers are independent contractors (Sheldon N Sons was our installer), not employed directly by Tuff Shed, which made me a little uneasy the day of the installation, only because I didn't know them by name.   However, the installation went very well.  Installers showed up on time and did a good job.  The installation was completed in 4 hours, as they said it would.  Shed is installed just as we requested.

We are very happy with our shed, and the experience we had with the Tuff shed folks at the Seattle location.  Rick, the consultant, worked diligently with us to customize the design of the shed, and his input was invaluable.  The installation went well except for a glitch with the special order door that we noticed some time after installation.  When informed of the misalignment of the door Gabriel did an excellent job of fixing the problem.  We highly recommend these guys if you want a quality built shed by an outfit that stands behind there work.

We visited the Tukwilla sales location to see all the shed options and the people there were extremely helpful, especially Rick who we worked with mainly. They had all sorts of sheds to tour, as well as a wall of options for paint and roofing colors. It was a great way to see all our options and really get a feel for the space. Rick worked with us on options to help meet our needs, and when we found out that the set back for our property required some small adjustments he helped with that as well, providing both a quote as well as a drawing to help us visualize. The installers he recommended were great, and ended up here into the dark until they got it done The Shed is great and we're very happy with the process. Our only issue is that the shed we chose specifically does not come with an option for a ladder or stairs, and with the 2nd floor 9 feet up that's a challenge. Rick did provide recommended options that we're looking at but we're hoping that Tuff Shed comes out with an option soon or we'll be looking for someone to install one as right now we're just using our Little Giant ladder.

I removed grass and trimmed back some limbs so the area was clear/level for them to work. The contractors that built the shed were superb. The showed up on the date promised, were professional and completed the entire shed in 5 1/2 hours! I could not believe how fats they got the shed up. I priced out sheds to other companies and Tuff Shed came in at least $800-900 cheaper for this footprint. I really liked the galvanized steel sub floor they use. Heck, I have a home repair business and I STILL went with Tuff Shed. The initial salesperson was very responsive and was easy to work with. I wanted some special additions added (6'' roof overhang, $156 extra), 5 window cutouts ($55/each) and I chose to paint the shed myself (saving $400). I had several questions through the process (changes of window cutout sizes, other questions) and they were very responsive. From start to finish, Tuff Shed was a positive experience.

The installers arrived at my home on the date and time as scheduled. They built a Tuff Shed outdoor storage building. They built a barn style 16 x 12 sq. ft building. They did an excellent job on leveling the flooring foundation prior to building the structure. They installed a loft inside the structure with additional joist support to support extra weight and be able to walk on the structure. The pieces were already painted per Tuff Shed's requirements but waspainted again after the structure was built.
I was very pleased with the attention to details in painting touch up, cleaning up and sweeping out the unit when complete. Very professional installers and their work was very good, attention to details. After completeing looked over the structure to ensure all was completed correctly. Not cheap, but definitely a quality product.

They arrived on time. We were told we needed a 7ft clearance to the back yard but when the installers showed up they needed 8ft clearance. I had arbors too low for them to bring the walls through. They disassembled the arbors to make room, making sure that they would not be damaged and could be put back up. It was pouring rain half the day but they worked non stop until complete. Great job, cleaned up everything and when they left it looked as though the barn had always been there.

When my wife and I bought our house last spring one of our criteria was a yard large enough for us to put up a storage building that I could use as a woodworking shop. After my dad and I poured the concrete pad that it would sit on we ordered a build-it-yourself prefabricated building from a national, "big box" retailer. We worked on that building for months before we finally gave up on it because of the absolutely terrible quality of the materials provided. This spring we finally decided that it was time to do something about it. After looking around at our different options we chose to go with Tuff Shed. We worked with Theo off and on for several months until we finally settled on what we wanted. Yesterday was the day scheduled for the installation. The crew of three men arrived a few minutes before 8:00 am yesterday and proceeded to begin the installation. They had everything off the truck and started going up very quickly and were finished by 1:00 pm. The quality of the materials in the building and the quality of the construction are both exceptional, as was the skill and professionalism of the installers. Overall the entire experience of working with Tuff Shed was excellent. Theo checked in with us frequently to see how things were going and helped us to get everything set the way we wanted. They even roughed out some openings for us to install our own windows, and provided pre-painted trim to put up around them. I can confidently say that we couldn't have had a better experience than working with Tuff Shed and would happily do business again with them in the future. You can't go wrong with Tuff Shed.

Great project from first contact to final construction. I am overjoyed at the product I got and the ease which this project went in. They got it right, from sales, to scheduling, to choices available to construction crew. Wouldn't hesitate to refer any and all who need a quality outbuilding at a fair price. It was actually fun dealing with these folks! And I love the final structure.

The guy we worked with was just fantastic. Totally friendly, knowledgeable and really helped us get clear on exactly what we wanted to do. They came exactly on time the day they said they would, the shed was exactly built the way we ordered it and we really couldn't be happier, except that it was very, very expensive.

We went to their "showroom" in Tukwila where they have multiple sheds to look at - very helpful to see what all the options are. Clyde, our salesperson was also very helpful in helping us decide what would work best for us. Clyde also came out to our house, not once but three times, to be sure that the site we had chosen was appropriate and that we were on the right track in preparing it (not having any level ground on our property we had to do some digging and build a small retaining wall). Over the course of our site preparation we delayed the build date once and changed our mind about the size of the shed we wanted - Clyde was helpful and accommodating with both changes. The builders were friendly, professional, and efficient and had the shed up and completed in about 5 hours. They also did the best clean-up of any workers I've had on the place in a long time. The only negative comment I have is that they called the night before to say that the builders would arrive between 7 and 8 am and they didn't get here until 8:10. Their sheds are expensive, but we thought about it for almost a year and finally decided that it was worth the money to get a really nice, really solid shed that will last for a long time.
