Details:
I got their details through a pamphlet in Home Depoot. The rep's information (Carrie) was stamped on the front so I called it and left a message. I did not get a callback in a couple of days so I called again and was able to talk to Carrie. I gave her the details for the shed that I wanted (6x8 SR-600) and she said someone from billing will send me a quote.
I got an email from Isabel with a form and some options. I picked out my options and got an agreement from Isabel. I thought that Carrie was supposed to contact me but instead I got an email from Erica a few days later. She sent me the scheduled installation date and asked me to verify the final sketch of the shed (with locations of the vents). I also emailed her some pictures of the area where I want the shed installed because I was worried about the shed door possibly hitting my AC unit. Erica told me that she'll ask Carrie to contact me so Carrie can come out in person to verify.
I did not get a call from Carrie so I called Erica again. Carrie did not get back to me until the day before the installation and I had to tell her I had no time to meet with her (since I was at work) so we'll just have to "wing" it.
The day of the installation, two guys came promptly at 9am. They were very courteous and went right to work. As they were laying out the parts of the shed, I came out to talk to them to make sure they cut out and install the vents in the correct locations (since I had told Erica to move them when she emailed me the sketches). The guys agreed and I went back inside the house.
They two guys finished a little after lunch time and had already cleaned up their tools. I went with one of the guys to inspect the final shed. Only then did I notice that they put one of the vents in the wrong location (both vents were towards the front of the shed).
I was very disappointed because I did come out to verify the vent locations with them before they started work. Now, I'm waiting for them to come back and cut out a 3rd vent in the back of the shed so there would be cross ventilation.
Also, I wish they would've just had one person (i.e. Carrie) interface with the customer instead of 3. The process would've gone smoother and faster without the miscommunications that happened.
Sheds are good quality for pre-built and for the price. Installers are independent contractors (Sheldon N Sons was our installer), not employed directly by Tuff Shed, which made me a little uneasy the day of the installation, only because I didn't know them by name. However, the installation went very well. Installers showed up on time and did a good job. The installation was completed in 4 hours, as they said it would. Shed is installed just as we requested.
I removed grass and trimmed back some limbs so the area was clear/level for them to work. The contractors that built the shed were superb. The showed up on the date promised, were professional and completed the entire shed in 5 1/2 hours! I could not believe how fats they got the shed up. I priced out sheds to other companies and Tuff Shed came in at least $800-900 cheaper for this footprint. I really liked the galvanized steel sub floor they use. Heck, I have a home repair business and I STILL went with Tuff Shed. The initial salesperson was very responsive and was easy to work with. I wanted some special additions added (6'' roof overhang, $156 extra), 5 window cutouts ($55/each) and I chose to paint the shed myself (saving $400). I had several questions through the process (changes of window cutout sizes, other questions) and they were very responsive. From start to finish, Tuff Shed was a positive experience.
I was very pleased with the attention to details in painting touch up, cleaning up and sweeping out the unit when complete. Very professional installers and their work was very good, attention to details. After completeing looked over the structure to ensure all was completed correctly. Not cheap, but definitely a quality product.
