Excellent work. Joey Sterling installed new hardwood in our kitchen two years ago. Did a fantastic job. We hired him again last month to install hardwood in living/dining room. He matched the color of the wood he installed and finished previously. He installed oak quarter round, too, to dress out the new floors. Looks great and he did it in four days from carpet removal, removing squeaks in floor, install and finishing. His dust free system worked well. We didn’t have the dust like we had years ago when we had floors refinished in out old house. We highly recommend his work.

We initially wanted to replace our vinyl kitchen floor with oak. When Bill, looked at what was under our wall-to-wall carpeting, he found we had 3/4 inch red & white oak. We decided to get rid of the carpeting and have them refinish the floor to match the new kitchen floor. The work was coordinated with a kitchen remodel. They arrived on time. Installation of the new floor took a little more than a day. Later, a crew came out to fill cracks, repair any damaged wood and install new flush oak air registers, They gave it an initial sanding, cleaned up and left. The day after the kitchen remodel was done, they came back to do a final sanding and apply a Swedish finish. The new and old floors blend seamlessly and look great.

The estimator arrived quickly after requesting a quote, gave a thorough explanation of what work they would do, when, and how. Gave a very reasonable bid. The guy doing the refinishing was always punctual, worked steadily and did a great job. He also did a good job communicating timelines and then stuck to them over a multiple day process. In the end the floors looked fabulous and stayed in great shape for the three years we owned the house.

Bill @ Sterling was awesome to work with and more than accommodating. He's a very genuine nice guy and helped us when things did not go as planned. He was responsive and was able to communicate via phone, text or email.
Our family purchased an older home and we were told it had hard woods under the carpet. We *thought* it would just be a refinish job. Bill held a spot for us on his calendar and when we discovered the old floors were not salvageable, blackened and damaged he was able to pull guys in over the weekend and extend the job scope. The guys worked hard to get this done so we could move in on time as we had to be out of our old home. The end result was a beautiful floor. I had other estimates and the price for what they offer from a reputable company seemed fair.

From the start to the end Sterling Hardwoods was wonderful to work with. Mr. Sterling came to give us his bid and was very helpful in making the decision to refinish our top nailed oak floor rather than replace it. It was refinished a few times over the last 100 years and there was some chance that it lacked the depth needed for refinishing. Mr. Sterling took the time to look at the floor carefully and was able to help us make the decision to try for one last re-sanding and we are so happy we did!
They were also able to help us with the floor in one room which had a hump in it that led to a corner that was far lower than the rest of the room. We had been given a bid from a general contractor to repair this problem but Mr. Sterling was able to do the work in conjunction with refinishing the wood in that room and the end result is a room with a level floor that matches the rest of the house. They replacement boards were woven in so seamlessly that you cant even tell which section was removed and replaced. None of the other wood flooring companies that we had bid on our project would even discuss fixing it themselves.
The men that came each day to work on our floors were the first to arrive bright and early and did an amazing job. They were wonderful to work with and very professional, informative and friendly. They had to contend with some other contractors that were pulling siding off the exterior of the house and needed to walk though the house at times. They did this very well - a skylight was removed and improperly covered one evening and some condensation got on the floor but this didnt phase them either - they just got in and handled it.
There was also a day when the front door (they had a key so they could get in and out) had an old latent deadbolt become jammed in the door preventing them from getting inside. They were helpful and patient as my husband and I scrambled around trying to get inside the house to try to flip the bolt. After we managed to get them inside, they removed the damaged bolt and made it so this would never happen again.
The net result was a team that was wonderful to work with, did an amazing job on our floors, going above and beyond for us every step of the way.

On time, on budget and did a good job

floors ore like new I would ask for gloss rather than semi gloss ask For Kim to do the work, as he many years of experience, they do a good job of keeping schedules

2-man crew showed up on time and were very pleasant and professional to work with. Part of service is that it is "dust -free." I was skeptical, but it was nearly dust-free! They were patient in applying sample stains, so I could choose exactly the color and tone I wanted. . Also, we required some custom transition pieces to be made, which they did very well. One transition piece was executed very well, but the color and wood didn't match. They came right back and corrected it with no hesitation or extra expense. I was charged exactly what I was quoted.

Sterling (and that's the perfect name for them) replaced approximately 1300 sq. ft. of oak floor in our 85 year old home after a water leak left an unrestorable blemish. They supplied flawless, prime-grade white oak flooring and applied 2 coats of Swedish finish in our living room, dining room and sunroom. They started when they said they would, and finished ahead of schedule. The finished floor is absolutely gorgeous, perfectly installed and finished. They trimmed our hearth and French doors with a special border that made the finished product even more special.

This company did excellent work. We have no complaints with their work and the men that did the work. They were courteous and professional in their manner.

Sterling's representatives were all prompt, professional and clearly interested in a quality product. They were also very willing to answer all questions, provided care sheets and cleaned up well after their work. The old floors look gorgeous and have been given a whole new life! P.S. A "dust free" sanding system for an additional $350 was extremely noisy and brought a neighborhood complaint, but was terrifically effective and was needed for only one day.
