We called and told the receptionist what happened the Vet told her to tell us to bring our puppy in, we did. We waited some time and finally they took our dog out back, we were not allowed to accompany our dog. The Doctor made her vomit and said they wanted to hold her for 24 hours, I asked to see our puppy and the Doctor said she would not recommend it. They were going hydrate Stella (our puppy) give her charcoal and then do blood test they quoted us $750. We left the dog behind and then went home to look up the dangers of the Vit-D and it appeared not to be a big deal. When then Googled the hospital and found that the keeping the dog and $750 dollar price tag was the going rate for everything. We were also asked to put down a deposit for 400 before they would do anything. Stella's mother went back to get her first thing in the morning, she was at the hospital for about 8 hours. She asked for the dog back, they said that they wanted to run more test, she said no and wanted her dog and asked how much they would be refunding her credit card. Nothing. Not only nothing, but if she wanted the dog back another 250. She said it was highway robbery they had not done blood Test, basically Stella as there for the night and she demanded her dog back. She was told the only way she would get her dog back was pay the additional monies. She paid and Stella came out happy and frisky and there were no further problems.
This place takes advantage of your moment of vulnerability and ramps up the cost and claims to do tests that don't happen and why our puppy needed morphine after swallowing two Vit-D capsules.
Please save yourself aggravation and more importantly...your pet a stressful situations.
-we asked to make him more comfortable. Is it his time?
-we let them know clearly the owner has a limited income
-the curt and rude vet from India yelled at the senior that the cat will get better
-teeth cleaning $200
-xrays $99
-medication, and iv another $225
-overnight treatments $315
The poor elder and Kamakazi-the cat, suffered through two weeks of painful IV drips and medication the cat couldn't swallow.
Injured mouth due to hack job of 'teeth cleaning'.
I found the waiting room decor to be that of a 1970's trailer with the same piles of dust and animal hair ALL over the room.
The loudly obnoxious front desk woman was swearing at people on the phone.
Other customers seemed to be on some kind of hallucinatory tranquilizer talking about how wonderful
the vets there are. Looking back I think they were plants.
Well, need I say the cat died two weeks later. He didn't have to suffer like that. These people should be very ashamed.
Just read the Yelp reviews. Those seem to match our experience.
Yes, my senior friend, an 79 year old man - Korea Vet was brought to tears by that disgusting so called animal doctor.
Unfortunately, the bed side manners and the expertise of the vet are inadequate. The last time I checked my dog, he was almost fearful to touch him, even though my dog is not a threatening one at all. I end up putting a provided heavily used muzzle on him, for the vet to examine him. And his examination was inadequate, in that he could not identify the source of limping, without asking me to shell more money on X-Ray. I went into another low-cost vet clinic in the U-District, and the vet there was able to identity the cause of my dogs limping, prescribe appropriate medicine, by just feeling my dogs' leg. No muzzle or X-Rays were required !
Front desk is very good dealing with constant crazy busy.
The doctors are great, the staff could use some procedural review. However, they were all very nice.
Dr. Nagra treated my foster-dog, and was sincere about allaying my concerns about her health - explaining all the blood test results, and the treatment done at each visit, so I clearly understood the results and what to do in terms of medications for the dog. When I had to leave her in the hospital over a weekend, the entire staff, including the veterinarians themselves, was very sympathetic, helpful and ready to answer any questions I had. I called at least two or three times a day, each day that the dog was there, and even though they were so busy, they always called one of the doctors, and each time the doctor I spoke to would take his/her time answering my questions and allaying my concerns.
I have no idea what the treatments cost, because I was still in the foster period, and the cost was borne by the shelter that the dog came from. That's the only reason Price is scored at N/A. The amount that I put in is just the specialized food that I bought for the dog.
Every customer of the place that I met while waiting with or for the dog and the doctor, was usually singing the praises of the vets at that hospital, and most were repeat customers. They mentioned that the prices charged were extremely competitive and the services they provided were superb.
When I eventually adopt a dog, I will certainly take him/her all the way there (I live about 30 miles away from them, and in bad traffic, it can take up to 2 hours to get there) if my pet should need emergency care, because they are just that good.
