Silly Sisters Joyful Housecleaning

We were very happy with the first cleaning, but later realized it was because we had just finished a remodel, and everything had been filthy for so long, it looked good. After that there were always things left undone (cleaning under the stove hood, specifically requested several times), or not thoroughly cleaned. After many months of this, we requested a different cleaner, who spent 1/3 less time than required, as showed with many areas not cleaned thoroughly at all (nothing moved on furniture when dusting, sofas weren't vacuumed, a big priority for us with 3 cats, and didn't clean under the stove hood). We went over it with Jessie, who relayed the information to him, and he said he didn't know there was a time issue! And then refused to come back to our house because we were "too critical". But he still works for Jessie. She did not offer any refund on the time not spent finishing the job until I requested it. On short notice she sent another crew, who, despite her email with a list, and our note not to clean our "delicate" granite counters, they were all cleaned with something that left a film, broke a trivet made by our daughter as a child, and sofas not vacuumed. Jessie was always very responsive and pleasant, but ineffective in assuring that there would be a complete cleaning. And we are not picky (except for our blasted delicate counters), just want the clean house we're paying for.

They return calls promptly and they accommodate various schedules really well. We have a regular person who does an excellent job. I once had someone else come who was very prompt and did a nice job as well.

I tried several cleaners with this company. Jessie was always willing to work with me or send someone else. One cleaner left my non-carpet floors sticky. Another left without opening the bathroom doors so the cats could access their litter boxes.

Very nicely. They worked straight for 2 hours.

JESSIE JONES = friendly, professional, and thorough on phone; gracefully handled subsequent over billing error. CLEANERS = disappointment: Arrived 1 hr. 40 min. late; Weren t briefed. Two of 3 spoke no English. Didn t follow checklist. Tripped a circuit breaker; didn t tell me! Yanked off a mini shade cord; didn t tell me! One left 1 hr. 30 min. early. GOOD: Nice job on bathrooms! Nice job on kitchen sink! BAD: Didn t *touch* fridge (high priority). Didn t clean out visible gunk between cook top and counter top. Left visible scouring powder residue on Formica surfaces. Didn t check kitchen cupboards (stray coffee beans left in one). Didn t clean out visibly dirty, highly accessible floor vents. Didn t dust or clean high shelves or wardrobe tops (despite good stepladder). Spent 10 or 15 minutes at most on hardwood floors (high priority). CONCLUSION = Not much improvement (except for bathrooms); glad they didn t work more hours; re-did the job myself.

They do a good job. I am not a huge fan of the Method products they use to clean so I ask them to supplement with different cleaners for the granite and marble surfaces. They comply. It is important to be specific about what you want them to do, which is the case with all house cleaners I suspect. I need to tell them to take out the garbage and to straighten the pillows on the sofa, things like that. They aren't as in to personal little touches as Maid Brigade, whom I used for four years but stopped because their price kept increasing.

Cleaners almost always arrive on the day scheduled and when something comes up, Jesse calls to let us know. Reliability is probably their strongest suit, as the quality of cleaning performed is pretty marginal. The cleaners don't seem to see anything but the most obvious dirt and the house is often left as though a whirlwind hit it, with rugs out of place, furniture awry and things not put back in their proper place; cleaning rags and supplies have been left in a heap on more than one occasion. One gets the sense that the cleaners are in a huge hurry to get finished. There is no attention to detail. As soon as I can find a better cleaner, I'll abandon Silly Sisters!

They are very responsible, professional and efficient. They are also accommodating and personable.

Cleaning quality was poor. Each time major cleaning tasks were either left undone or were done carelessly. For example, tub and clear glass shower door were not cleaned, 5 x 8 rug covered with dog fur was not vacuumed, large puddles or water were left on hardwood floors after mopping, etc. I liked owner Jessie Jones and called after each cleaning to try to work with her to either improve cleaning quality or assign a new cleaning crew. While Jessie seemed to be apologetic, this process proved to be both frustrating and in the end unworkable. Out of all the cleaners I've hired over many years, this was the worst experience I've had.

On a whim, I called Silly Sisters two days before moving into my new home. I was running out of time before my boxes were scheduled to arrive and I needed help cleaning the house. Jesse took my call and was very helpful trying to find time to get someone over to my home. James arrived promptly and did an exceptional job cleaning. I was so pleased with his work, I've already arranged for another visit by James.

Two workers showed up right on time and estimated it would take at least four to five hours. The estimate was accurate and the end result could not have been better.

The company was able to clean the condo on short notice, and we found them very cost effective as well. Many other cleaning services wanted to charge us for a "moving" clean, when we just needed a basic housecleaning. Silly Sisters was significantly less expensive and the job was done well.

The guy that they sent was wonderful, and he worked all day long.
