"[Member Name Removed], When I first read this review I was quite upset. I have policies and procedures in place so things like this do not happen. One of those procedures is a call and email log that is filled out whenever someone calls the office, emails through the website or messages through an internet site. I personally investigated how you seemed to have slipped through the cracks. Here is what I found out: Sat 04/28/18 at 11:03 pm you email through the company website Sat 04/28/18 at 11:00 pm you messaged through Angie's List Mon 04/30/18 at10:40 am I responded to your Angie's List message requesting more information so that Christine could contact you Mon 04/30/18 at 11:24 am You responded with the requested information Mon 04/30/18 at 1:49 pm Christine called you at the phone number you provided and left a message Wed 05/09/18 at 11:03 am Christine attempted to follow up with you again and she also messaged you through Angie's List. At this time she informed you of her work hours Wed 05/09/18 at 3:56 pm you returned her call and left a message. This is because it was after hours Thur 05/10/18 at 9:13 am Christine returned your call. She left a message and in it again included what her work hours are Mon 05/14/18 at 9:31 am left a message on Angie's List stating you hadn't heard back and asked if we were still interested in the job Tue 05/15/18 at 1:36 pm Christine called you, left a message stating that we were interested and again stated what the office hours are 05/15/18 was the last attempt we made to contact you. You never returned the call so we figured you found some one else. Then you post this review stating that we never got back to you. As you can see we attempted multiple times to contact you. The biggest issue I can see in this entire exchange is that you wouldn't contact us during our posted normal business hours. Bruce Bartleson Shoreline Concrete"
"[Member Name Removed] I am sorry that you feel that we did not give you the attention that we try and give each and everyone that contacts us. I had my office manager investigate why you were not contacted. According to the call log you called on Monday, August 17th at 12:09 pm. On that same day my scheduler returned your call at 1:47 to discuss your project and set up a time for me or my brother to come out. There was no answer so she left a message. You did not return the message so she followed up on Friday at 9:02 am. You never returned our call. Again I am sorry that we did not connect, but we did try and reach you. If you would still like for us to come out and look at your project please call the office at 206-629-5169 or you can email me directly at [email protected] Bruce Bartleson, President Shoreline Concrete"
"I try to use every review as a tool to either learn from or praise my crew for the great work that they have accomplished. In your case your rated me as a "D" without any explanation. I was out on the date and time that was requested. I was there earlier then you were. You discussed the project with me, I took measurements and calculated the cost of the project, discussed the cost of the project and then went back to the office and wrote up an estimate and emailed it to you. A few days later you emailed me a question and I promptly answered. Approx. a week later you emailed me and stated that you had selected a different company. Which by the way doesn't bother me at all."
We had pumper truck supply to backyard.
Estimated quantity needed was very good. I had separate smaller area, about 6' x 8' that I included in project, to be used as a foundation for a putting green. Beyond that there was one full wheel-barrow of unused cement after cleaning out pipes run from pumper truck. fortunately I had a place from a different project where we poured that remainder.
I would hire this contractor again, but whether it be this one or another I will hope to remember to ask about the disposition of any remainder, especially if I don't have a place to dispose or use. On the bright side, having a little extra is a whole lot better than being a little short. Might not have yielded such a smooth putt.
When work commenced, they covered the lawn, work area, and house walls with plastic and kept their tools on it. They worked carefully and neatly. They cleaned up thoroughly every day before they left. The job site (my front yard) showed no effect from a week of workers tromping around (not including curing time). The work exceeded my expectations; I could not be happier with my choice to go with Shoreline Concrete. I would recommend them without reservation. I would mention that the best way to communicate with them is by email; they always answer the same day or first thing next morning.
"[member name removed], Thank you for the wonderful review. I will pass on to the crew your message. Thank you, Bruce Bartleson Shoreline Concrete"
"Thank you for your review. I appreciate all reviews and try to use them to better the company. I am sorry that you feel that you didn't receive the service that one would expect. I did investigate your claim that you called and left messages and that no one ever got back to you. I couldn't find any messages on the companies voicemail from you. Please call the office at 206-629-5169 or you can email me directly at [email protected] so that we can resolve the issue. Thank you, Bruce Bartleson Shoreline Concrete"
"Thank you for your review. I am truly sorry that you did not receive your estimate. Our records show that you do not have an email address so I mailed out your estimate. I admit that I was late in getting your estimate out, (by a week and a half) and for that I am very sorry. Since I did not hear back I assumed that you had gone with another company. If you would like, I will get another estimate out to you promptly. Our office number is 206-629-5169. Bruce Bartleson"
"Thank you for the review. I use every review to try and improve my company. I am sorry that you didn't receive the customer service at the level that my company normally gives. I made a major mistake in the months of May and June. I was roped in to taking part in the "Big Deal" by Angie's List and I couldn't handle the amount of calls and inquires that came in. I learned that I would rather have less work then give poor customer service. I hope that you would give us another try. I can guarantee that the customer service then you received this time. They had already invoiced me, so I called to say there must have been some mistake and that work wasn't complete. Pictures I sent quickly confirmed this. They said they would get out to get the work done and apologized for leaving the door open (literally gaping open, not just unlocked). They confessed they weren't locking the door at night with the key I left them. This was of course concerning for a variety of reasons.
I spent a week going back and forth with the company - meeting them at the house 3 additional times - until they finally finished the project to acceptable standards.
I will add that they were also very difficult to get ahold of after I had accepted their bid. They were, however, responsive once I told them I was extremely dissatisfied with their work and would not be paying them until it was completed as described.
They assured me my experience was not reflective of their usual work and customer experience.
