We have used Seattle Green Cleaner for four years and have loved them from start to finish. We have a 1929 muti-level home, and it comes with many quirks, nooks, and crannies that make it an annoyance to clean. No matter for these folks. Jennifer’s team always shows up promptly, cheerfully, and make our home look and smell great. They accomplished this even during a 9 month bout of construction in 2019. They were able to safely continue to do this even during a pandemic during the last two years. One thing that speaks volumes to me is many of the same workers stay with this company. To me, this is a product of Jennifer’s commitment to sustainable practices-both in cleaning methods and in paying a livable wage. But this also translates into a benefit for the customer. In the four years we’ve used this company, it’s been the same 3-4 people coming to our house every two weeks. They have watched my son grow, could handle our annoying dog, and know the quirks of our house. It makes everything easier and more personal. Jennifer’s customer service is also outstanding. The very few time minor annoyances came up, she quickly and creatively addressed them. I have always felt like an important customer to her and her team. They have always been prompt, communicative, and transparent. I wholeheartedly recommend this team.

I’ve been a customer of Seattle Green Cleaner since 2009 and highly recommend them. Communication is fast and cordial. The cleaners we’ve had over the years are friendly and conscientious. Seattle Green Clean (owner: Jennifer Troyer) comes monthly to deep clean my house and I have never been disappointed: 1. Her communication is crystal clear 2. You get a reminder email 24 hours in advance and a reminder txt the day of 3. Her crew of cleaners have always arrived exactly in the time window specified (+/- 5 minutes) 4. They are detail-oriented like you wouldn't believe: baseboards and doors get scrubbed, door handles sanitized, thorough vacuuming and mopping 5. They follow instructions 6. They are nice to my cats 7. Unlike many cleaners, the crew folds towels and couch throw blankets nicely- it almost feels like a boutique hotel at my house when they are done 8. They practice what they preach when in comes to the non-toxic cleaners they use 9. Our house not only looks fantastic when they are done, but it smells great 10. Since hiring Seattle Green Clean, my boyfriends allergies and our cat's asthma (yes we have an asthmatic cat) have gotten soooo much better since the house is no longer a dusty mess 11.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to anyone looking for friendly, reliable, communicative, competent and details oriented cleaning service 12.Seattle Green Clean offers excellent between house cleaning days tips for keeping your house tidied and also gives a clear description what the different is being a "housekeeper" and "housecleaner" is. 13. Seattle Green Cleaner has been cleaning my home every other week since 2013! They have always done a very thorough job cleaning my home. They have been reliable. The owner, Jennifer, is in good communication with me about my services and is always ready to work with me when I need to tweak our services. When my mother moved to the area, we set her up with a regular cleaning appointment as well! Over the years, I have worked with many different cleaning teams, and I have been happy with all of their work. All of the employees have been friendly, and I have felt more than comfortable welcoming them into my home. With covid, each cleaning team has been helpful and respectful of the fact that my husband and I are suddenly working from home (and in their way!). I highly recommend Seattle Green Cleaner!

I was a little surprised that the appointment time was revised a day ahead, but I was home. Workers were serious, worked quietly and competently and did a thorough job, even on some hard-to-clean carpeting. Bette than I could do, which is why I hired them.

Please note: I was seeking a cleaning company to clean my home every two weeks, after having a service for over ten years. (My previous cleaners discontinued her services due to relocation.) Unfortunately, I must rate Seattle Green Cleaner with an overall F, due to price, quality, and the owner Jennifer not being customer service savvy. The cleaning was not thorough and incomplete. The company trained a new person during this cleaning, which I can appreciate, but I don’t believe I should be responsible for training time. I contacted the owner, after the crew left, outlining the following missed areas/items below. She was extremely defensive, stating it was my fault for not allowing the crew additional time to complete their work. This was baffling as, the crew lead stated not ONCE but TWICE “Wow, the home is VERY, VERY clean” and there was No mention from the on-site team lead, “we don’t have enough time to clean the house and its dirtier or larger than we estimated.” The team lead did not approach me until fifteen minutes prior to when they should have been completed, asking for another 15 minutes of cleaning time and then said “well, we only need 5 minutes, times 3 people, would be 15 minutes in total.” He said they had not cleaned the living room or dining room! Which was very apparent. When the Team Leader spoke to me requesting additional time, we chatted about the amount of time (45 minutes) one person spent cleaning a small office of less than 450 sq. ft. with two desks and large dog crate (colossal size) and how it should not have taken over 45 minutes. As the dog crate consumes 1/4 of the space in the office. The office contains multiple computer monitors which the company admitted they don’t clean. The bookshelves in the office, were left dusty too. I’m at a lost at what the he did in the office for over 45 minutes. We chatted about the person who cleaned the office for 45 minutes, and he said he was new to the company, and was just trying to be thorough. I told him I was not comfortable with paying for additional time to train someone, but he said they’d get it done in 5 minutes times 3 people. I did approve the additional 5 minutes time for the team to clean the areas they had not touched. Unfortunately, as you can see below, this was not the case. The following areas were reported to have been cleaned, although you’ll see below, there were multiple areas incomplete: a. The kitchen - The drain on the kitchen sink was dirty and the taps had streaks, the coffee machine was not even wiped down, the stainless-steel dishwasher had streaks, as well as the refrigerator and hood fan. The kitchen floor which is only 85 square feet, was left with dirty spots and had a film on it. b. The bathroom - while it’s apparent the white subway tile in the shower was wiped down as it was marked with water spots however a foot from the ceiling you can tell was not cleaned as it had no water spots. I had no spots on the tile prior to cleaning although this company allegedly cleaning the shower. The mirrors in the bathroom were streaked and looked like someone smudged them with a dirty rag, which required me to wipe them properly so there were no streak or smudge marks. The bathroom floor mats were put down onto a wet floor making the mats stick to the floor. Which required me to pull the mats up, clean the bathroom tile again, wait for floor to dry, vacuum the mats, and then replace the mats. In addition, someone left a cleaning container, squirt bottle in the bathroom, and placed the windowsill sea shells along the edge of the bathtub. c. Dining-room & living-room - the hardwood floors were left with standing water on them! Hardwood floors should never be left with standing water. I also noticed spots on the hardwood that required me to wipe them up with a paper towel. While I used the paper towel on the hardwoods, after they were allegedly cleaned, the paper towel was brown showing a lot of dirt. The floor had not been properly cleaned. I had to first dry, then re-clean the hardwood floors. None of the small hallway rugs had been removed as evidenced by the amount of dirt located underneath the rugs. d. Master bedroom – both night stand lamps had not been dusted, as well as other areas of the throughout the master bedroom. e. Other items not cleaned - French door and windows on the door, exterior of accessible light fixtures in bathroom, stairs were dirty, which I had mop. And I had to clean the floors underneath the hallway cabinet (which also had water left on the wood countertop, underneath the protective countertop glass). Overall, if there was concern the team could not clean the house within the time allotted, they should have informed the office and/or me upon arrival, not 15 minutes before they were scheduled to be completed. When the team arrived and while I toured them throughout the home and they only commented on how clean the house was, implying they had sufficient time to clean. I cannot say with confidence this team could clean the house properly, as evidence by not one of the rooms they did cleaned was thoroughly cleaned. The website states that the employees are experienced however this is not a true statement, as evidenced by the team member training someone while on the job. I overheard (multiple times) the team leader instructing another cleaning member how to clean. The website also states they go far beyond average cleaning services which again is inaccurate, based on what was not cleaned, and the disclaimers, they make regarding items they don’t clean, such as linens and computer screens. From the website “You get what you pay for” is an inaccurate statement, as this company is the most expensive in our area and as evidenced the house was dirtier than when the team arrived. I had to go back over what they cleaned, mirrors, floors, outside refrigerator, stairs, hood fan streaked, etc. Since one of the main excuses is insufficient time allotted to clean, then this is a direct contradiction that they have experienced cleaners. If they had experienced cleaners, then they would have known to ask for additional time immediately or within shortly arriving or within 30 to 45 minutes of cleaning the home. Based on this, the team is obviously not experienced to know when to ask for additional help and/or time to complete a job. The owner stated in one of her emails to me, “Its clear we’re a cleaning company instead of a housekeeping company” because they don’t replace linens or computer screens. I’m not sure what this means, as they did not clean, the house. In my last correspondence with the owner Jennifer, she accused me of “looking to get something for nothing and looking for a free cleaning”. She also stated they “bent over backwards to try and make me happy”, which is not true. She concludes her email with, “My mistake was taking on a customer soley becuase (yes spelled incorrectly from her email) they were an Angie's List customer. Feel free to post your bad reviews. I will retort with my evidence. This experience is truly the worst I've had in 10 years of doing business. I've never had a customer make such horrific accusations. I wish you well.” Well I guess I’ll leave it up to Angie’s reviewers to decide, as I shared pictures I took after the cleaning which I provided the owner, showing the areas, they did not clean. She did admit that there were areas they missed. To be totally transparent, we did go back and forth regarding the size of the home prior to the booking. Our home was built in 1950’s and has had no additions which I stated to her in the emails it’s a small home. If the team was concerned about the size of the home the company should either come to the house and do a free quote like other companies do. Or state their concern upon arrival at the home not after. This blame game on the size and how dirty the house appears to be a way of getting out of acknowledging the areas they dropped the ball in cleaning. "As an ethical company, we do not exchange positive reviews for free cleanings. - It's upsetting to see our ONLY bad review on Angie's List in our 10-year history, but it is not surprising. This customer let me know more than once that she would post a bad review if she did not receive a full refund. She said it was in my "best interest" to give her a full refund. As an ethical company and employer, there are zero circumstances where I'm willing to trade honest reviews and my stellar reputation for free cleanings. - We estimated 5.75 total cleaning hours. The customer would not allow us to clean for more than 4.5 total hours and would not allow cleaners to work from a priority list. Instead, she thought the whole home should be cleaned in only 2 hours. I let her know several times before the cleaning that something seemed "off" and upon arrival, the team realized that the entire basement's square footage had not been accounted for and that there were additional areas which weren't included on the quote. If the customer had realistically described the home and all of its square footage, we would have estimated 7 total hours. Instead, cleaners were instructed to do 7 hours of work in only 4.5 hours. Of course she isn't satisfied; how could she be? The team wasn't allowed the time estimated or required for a thorough cleaning. The customer also would not allow the team to return to fix any mistakes, emailing, "Do I want you to send you team back to clean - H*** NO!" - While one member of the three-person team is fairly new to our company, he came to us with more than 4 years' experience and received cleaning certification as a requirement of his employment with us. He is new to our company, but not new to cleaning. The Team Leader has been providing additional instruction whenever he encounters something that isn't routine (like being required to shave 2.5 hours off of a cleaning job when the customer expects the same results). I don't believe this makes either cleaner new; I believe it makes them thorough. - There has never been any correspondence with the person who posted the review. The person who posted this review is not the person we corresponded with, gave an estimate to or who paid for the cleaning. - The business response with Angie's List does not allow me to upload our 40 plus before/after photos which paint a very different picture than what this customer has described. We hope potential customers will read through our other 75 positive Angie's List reviews and come to their own conclusion about the service we provide. - I'm very sorry this customer isn't happy, but I truly believe there isn't anything that could make her happy, except for perhaps, a free cleaning. The team and management at Seattle Green Cleaner was a pleasure to work with. Their online scheduling, quote form, punctuality, and level/quality of service made the whole process painless for me. I really needed this because getting my house ready to sell was stressful enough. My house had not been professionally cleaned in 3 years and had been a bachelor pad. The team arrived on time, educated me on what to do with the rough stains on a few walls, did a bang up job, and even brought in an extra team member to finish the job when they realized it would not be completed on time. I failed to properly indicate the level of cleanliness on the estimate form so another hour of cleaning was needed. I am very happy with their service and so was my real estate agent. My agent asked for a referral to Jen at Seattle Green Cleaner because she needed to work with a pro. So good.

The team at Seattle Green Cleaner has been great to work with. We have three dogs, twins and a newly renovated home so keeping up with regular cleaning is a daily event. They did a great job. Very thorough and punctual. They are more pricey than your typical housecleaning service, but that's for green cleaning and treating their employees well. So, I don't mind the price. I will definitely hire again. I stopped service because I recently moved, but plan on picking it back up again.
