SCOTT WISEMAN'S APPLIANCE SERVICE

I called Scott this morning, he said he could come by between 11:45 and 1 p.m He arrived in the time stated. He was courteous, friendly, and professional. Pulled the fridge out from the wall and we removed things that had fallen behind. He took various panels apart. Diagnosed a bad valve for the freezer, explaining that was the problem with the ice buildup we'd been getting. Discovered that the wall plug is questionable and should probably be replaced. It's now working. Opened up some interior panels to look at where a noise may be coming from; everything seems to be okay. Told me about three areas to listen to if I hear noise or noise increase (these three areas indicate different things that might need replacement). Very pleased with his work and that he was able to come out the same day. Will be calling an electrician to deal with the old wall plug (our house is very old). Also discovered that a rack in the freezer was in the wrong way, which explained why the door didn't shut right.

3:15 pm appointment, showed up a 3:15 pm. (Not a window of time from 1-5, for example, but 3:15 pm). Very nice and personable guy, knows his stuff, works quickly and efficiently. I wish all our service experiences were this great!

When I called Scott and he suggested I help pre-diagnose so that when he came
for the appointment, he'd have the parts necessary to fix it - rather
than have to come back another date in the future. He was on time,
professional and fixed the washer in under an hour. The dryer ultimately
had a larger issue, which he provided he professional recommendation on
how to approach (giving us 2 possible scenarios). He was very helpful
too, suggesting that I even record our conversation on my phone so I
could reference the details for later when I talked to my spouse. I'd
definitely call him back.

We called Scott because of the broken dishwasher handle, and he was able to order the correct part quickly. On the day of the appointment he called us because he was running ahead of schedule, so the appointment actually happened *early*. He asked me about how the dishwasher was doing in general and suggested we go ahead and clean it because it was obviously really gunky. We did that work together, as Scott showed me how to do it myself next time, instead of having to pay someone to do it!
Speed, honesty, integrity, accuracy. What more can you ask for?

This is the second time I've hired Scott to fix our fridge. Last time, the icemaker didn't work because of a clogged water line. This time, the bracket holding the motor that turns the ice crusher had shattered. Scott was on time, professional, got the job done very quickly. He's West Seattle's 'go-to' guy for appliance repair!

Scott was able to come out same day and very quickly fix the problem! $65 part is much better than buying a whole new appliance. Very quick and very professional!

He did a great job and he was very reasonable. It wasn't really expensive at all. He was very prompt, very courteous, did the job done quickly and basically, he was at work when he came in. I would use him again.

This is the second time I've called Scott to fix my fridge. The first time was about 2 years ago, because my refrigerator was leaking water all over my kitchen floor. The most recent call was due to my freezer frosting everything in it as well as my ice maker not wanting to stop making ice. Everything in my freezer seemed to be defrosting, and refreezing. Including my ice tray. I would end up with a very large block of ice in the tray and soggy cardboard boxes.
Scott was there on time and did a great job. It's working great. Nice to have a working fridge again. I highly recommend Scott.

He advised buying a new fridge which I did.

I had rescheduled our appointment, but Scott turned up on the original day (he had forgotten to scratch off the old appointment in his book). Since I was home anyway, we decided it would make more sense to go ahead and have him work on the icemaker. He quickly identified the problem as a frozen feed hose and fixed it. My only concern is if the cause of the ice blockage in the hose does indeed turn out to be a failing solenoid valve (we had rescheduled because only one of the valves had come in, and we arranged a later date so that he would have both valves in hand), will I have to pay full price for a second call? I suppose it all balances out, 'coz the service time would've been longer if he had to pull the fridge out so he could get at the valves to test them.
All in all, Scott was prompt (even if it was the wrong day, he WAS on time!), very pleasant and professional. I would happily hire him again.
My wife and I consider our Angies List subscription money well spent, unlike Yelp, we find every time we hire a contractor who has good ratings with AL, we are always satisfied with their work!

I was so happy he had all the parts needed to fix my fridge at hand. Quick and very thorough. I talked to some neighbors after that have use him as well and they had great things to say about him as well.

My favorite thing about him is that he is super honest. He won't do work that he doesn't think needs to be done. He will say that this can wait and tell us not to do it now. He will also tell us that we can do this more cheaply by making this other change instead. If it really needs to be changed, he will do it very quickly and efficiently. If we call him in and say that we need him to do this, he will look and say that the light in our dryer vent is dangerous. He will say that he knows that we didn't call him for that, but we need to know that. I totally would trust him and have him do that. He is not trying to upsell at all; I really like that about him. I would absolutely use him again in the future.

My experience overall went very well. He was very professional and friendly. He came out right away and did what he said he was going to do. He also offered suggestions on how to fix things myself. He is happy to help people.

I contacted Scott and he did some good troubleshooting over the phone to pinpoint the problem. He then scheduled a service call for the following Tuesday. A few hours later he called me back and said he was available and asked if he could come over. He looked at the washer, replaced the latch and tested it. All is good!! Very fast, very good service!

Scott initially came out back in October of 2012 when the timer went bad the first time and unfortunately the timer failed again within 4-6 months. However when Scott came out on the second occasion he said that the part he used the first time must have had a fault so he stood by his part and installed a new one at no charge (for parts or labor).

Scott responded within the hour to my voicemail and scheduled an appointment for the following morning (today). He was on time, thorough (like a doctor!) and explained what he found after his 'exam' in terms we could understand. He completed his repair, cleaned up and was done within the hour. I couldn't have asked for more.
