I would give them all A's for everything. They took care of my problem. The work was worth the price.

The very first time that I called Johan years ago was with an issue with flying ants coming out of my wall which was adjacent to my kitchen. I had called one company who said they would come over and spray a bunch of chemicals in the wall, which freaked me out because I don't want a bunch of chemicals near my kitchen. I called Johan and described the situation. He listened carefully and allowed me to describe the morphology of the ants, and he told me that I didn't need chemicals, but I needed to open the wall and get rid of any rotten wood b/c these were moisture ants. No chemicals necessary, no visit necessary, no charge! I did what he said, and the problem was solved. I felt that was pretty generous. He did great with the other jobs he worked on for us, like the hornet nests. Again, he showed us which nests didn't need treatment, and let us know which nests definitely did need to be removed. I feel he is very trustworthy. The reason he is not getting an A review is that he was not responsive in getting back to me about our rat problem. He had been out a couple of times to help set traps, and he charged only about $40 to check and restock the bait station. However, that wasn't the best solution for us, the problem continued, and when I called to get his help and opinion on it, he just never called back. Maybe rat elimination is not his strong suit or maybe he didn't feel we had that many options to get to where the rats were coming in. Also, my neighbor who had a rat problem called him and he never responded to her either.

The inspector was unable to locate rodent ingress locations in our crawl space. He made some superficial protections in an area that was unrelated. After continued problems we hired another inspector who clearly found the ingress locations in our crawl space.

Several years ago I had rats in both attic and crawl space. Had a local company correct the situation, take out existing insulation and install new. At the time they offered this regular check up service, but then they closed their Seattle office. I contacted Johann at Progressive to do the check ups. He is though, friendly, professional, knowledgeable, on-time and less expensive that the original company who left town. By the way, I've had to have insulation fixed and extra installed because they didn't do a great job of that either. Because I'm somewhat disabled, I wasn't able to check on the last insulation work, but the next time Johann came to do pest check, I asked if he would mind taking my iPhone into attic and crawl space and taking some pictures for me. He happily accommodated me and took extra time to look over the insulation. I can rest easier know that it is now done correctly, and also because Johann returns every four months to make sure I don't get into a pest crisis situation again. Well worth the $45/per check-up.
He is a delightful person and I would recommend his services to anyway. There have been a couple of times when we have rescheduled my check-up appointment because another customer with a more pressing situation needed him immediately. I'm happy to know he gives that kind of attention to customers, because I never know when I might have to deal with a swarm of wasps or...,well I don't want to think about it. Just glad to know Johann at Progressive is on the job!

Johan recognized the seriousness of the situation right away and offered to come over within a couple of hours He was working up around Ballard when I reached him, but came all the way to far South Seattle at 5pm, fitting us in at the last minute at what was undoubtedly great inconvenience to himself. He assessed that we had ground wasps in our attic who were burrowing their way through the ceiling and the entire hive would have eventually crashed through our ceiling. He calmly assessed where the wasps were getting in, treated the entire area, while making sure my family was safe and secure in case anything went sideways while he treated the hive. Once he'd finished he gave us instructions to make sure the hive was gone and offered to come back to treat a second time at no additional cost if the first treatment did not fully eliminate the hive.
We have called Johan for everything from ants to fleas to wasps to spiders and every encounter is an enjoyable and productive one. And he always guarantees his work. If the first treatment doesnt fix the problem, he will return at no expense until the pests are gone. Im getting ready to call him for some roof rat issues, and Im sure that will be handled as well as everything else.
I have referred Johan to many family and friends and we will continue to use him exclusively until he retires.

Johann was friendly and knowledgeable. He took care of the problem and was great with our dogs. He followed up several months later and gave me great advice. I would definitely use him again.

Overall the experience was very good, there was some confusion with the initial email response (thought they needed more information to quote, but did not). The "B" in professionalism is based on phone/email tag with Bonnie. She was very direct, and appeared to be in a hurry, which I don't mind, but the feel was that the process to schedule the initial visit took longer than it needed to as a result.
My technician Chris was very punctual (called to see if he could stop by 30 minutes early in fact), clean and professional. He was friendly from explanation of services he would provide through the entire job. He even helped me to drill off a rusted lock on our crawlspace (above and beyond!) He found one clear point of entry, a gap in the floor supports which had not been filled by the builder, and filled it himself. He also checked for gaps in the attic, but could not find any. He did advise that we should cut back a tree whose limbs were on our roof, as it could be providing easy access for outdoor pests.
Chris set traps in both spaces and made the appointment for the follow up himself. When he returned we were lucky enough to not have any sign of rodents (may have gotten sealed out, as they appeared to be coming and going based on the heat), but he left the traps baited just in case.
Cost was reasonable, $179 for two visits and $89/visit after that.
I will post an update if we need to bring them back.

Johan always does a great job! I've had him come out several times in past years at a different location to deal with rats and birds in my attic. He uses environmentally friendly products that focus on the specific pest. I have a dog so I am very concerned about this. With the yellow jackets he got on a ladder in his bee suit so he could get very close to the nest because the bees were swarming. The bees died from the dust solution. Ussually unnessary toxic spraying is done which often doesn't reach the nest without numerous tries. Hopefully I won't have more pests, but if I do I will call Johan.

I called Johan when I came home to find ants all over my kitchen counters, and I had never seen even one ant in the house before this.
He explained how they came in through an electrical outlet and placed some granule packets they would eat and would cause them to die. He also advised me to call him in the spring and fall to have outside treatment after this to keep them away. The ants went away almost instantly and I have been keeping up the outside treatments in spring and fall and haven't seen an ant since. He is very honest, has very good prices; but most importantly - HE DOES AN AWESOME JOB!!!! Not only would I hire him again, I do hire him again twice yearly and have him coming out to our new house this week to head off any pest problems. Thank you for a great job, Johan

I called Progressive Pest Solution and the owner\operator promptly called me back. I have been worrying and had some sleepless nights thinking that I had termites or some or wood destroying bug. Well Johan came out today and inspected my areas of concern...no worries, no termitites or anything else. He was very nice and he likes dogs! I will get a good sleep tonight and if I every have any other concerns in the future I will definetly call him. The best part is the inspection was free and he did not try to sell me something I did not need. Thank you!

He was excellent and professional. The problem was taken care of after his first visit. Very reasonably priced and didn't attempt to sell more than we needed. Also provided good information and explanations of different kind of ant behavior so we knew what to be looking for. Honest and trustworthy. I would certainly recommend him.

The guy is very honest. He is very personable and attentive. He has our best interest in mind. Don’t hesitate to give them a call if you have problem. I will use him in the future.

So far we haven't seen a single ant again in the house, though we realize this is a process that could take a few weeks to kill the multiple queens and ant hills around our home. Yohan is also scheduled to visit our home again for a follow-up in thirty days, as he does with all his clients. I'd refer Yohan to anyone looking for someone to help them with pest control of any kind.

Responsive with returning phone call, straight-forward pricing, on-time. He was even willing to attempt to make friends with my grumpy dog. We'd certainly use him again but I have a feeling that we won't have to- at least not in this house!

I think it went pretty well, I should have hired him 3 years ago instead of spending way more money and time trying to fix it myself. I had tons of questions he answered all of them. **update** The rats came back in June. He came back and found another hole that they had chewed, patched it for free! Thank you!!

Johan was very responsive and informative. He explained the difficulty with ant problems and include two follow ups with his initial fee. We have not had a recurrance since his outdoor treatment.

we have used Johan for years - he has extermined wasps, ants and now fleas with great success. We enjoy his visits personally, find him very well educated about his field, and he is very very thorough and will come back at no charge if the first attempt is unsuccessful. We love Progressive (Johan) :)

My experience with Progressive Pest Solutions went well. I placed a call to them at which point I was told of the various services with price points, and given a discount for finding them on Angie's List. I set up a time with the customer service rep. and the technician showed up exactly on time. He answered all of my questions and concerns, swept for spider webs, sprayed the perimeter and gave me a list of suggestions for preventing pest infestation. The service was great and the pricing on the optional spray schedules were very flexible. Overall I would say my experience was Excellent.

Not 100% controlled. Recently no ants apparent in home but has been an intermittant problem so we need to wait and see.
