Did not negotiate in good faith. General contractor refused to include the line "Contractor will complete the project in a professional manner and all work will comply with applicable building codes and regulations" in their contract. The general contractor did not oversee subcontractors. Refused to refund deposit. Measurements on planning documents were off by an inch or more in places. Refused to share plans client had paid for. Charges contractor's overhead on management expenses (essentially double dipping).

They were very good. it came in a little higher than what we anticipated. That;s the only hiccup. Overall, they were very good company.

We used potter construction small job service to install a new under stairs 'hidden closet. Job was relatively simple and took approximately 4 hours of construction time and 2 hours of materials time. Carpenter was very professional, did an excellent job with the finish work and cleaned up after job was complete. We did not use them to finish the inside or to paint as the hourly cost for work we could perform was a little higher than desired (didn't want to pay finish carpenter rate for painting).

We would highly recommend Potter Construction. They did an excellent job on our bathroom remodel from start to finish. The staff was great to work with and very responsive to our requests and questions. They do high quality work and only employ subcontractors that meet their standards. They aim to please and are very customer service oriented.

Good project

He did a very good job and they made sure that everything's all right. They always call if they can't make it today or tomorrow. They have weekly meetings if there are problems and if there are things to be talked about. They also have reasonable price.

Gary and the Potter Construction team did our basement remodel in the
summer of 2012. They did a fantastic job, from earthquake proofing to a
guest bedroom, bathroom, wet bar area and playroom their quality is top
notch and the project lead (Harry) is outstanding. Weekly meetings with Gary the owner, and the project lead were very helpful in knowing where the project was at. They guarantee all of their work, and do a detailed punch list walk through at the completion of the job. We will use them for all of our home projects!

.The Potter Construction Company is a team of professionals who strive for excellence. Their company included a designer and helped us plan our project. The foreman of our project (Karl Coy) and Gary Potter met with us regularly throughout the project so that they stayed on track. The job included changing and replacing old plumbing throughout the house including under the basement floor, electrical work, tile work, and buying and installing appliances.
Their company got all the permits for each part of the job.

Great. Workers showed up on time and worked hard and cleaned up when they left.

overall the work was performed well. Installers were very professional.
The linoleum, base, vanity and vanity top along with the plumbing/hardware and electrical were well done.
My problem is the shower walls are not flat. The back wall is bowed approx 1/4 in into the shower starting from about the middle of the wall down. The other wall has concave points such that when the shower doors went in we had a 1/4 in gap between the shower door and the wall. The shower enclosure was taken down to the studs and new green sheet rock installed so the opportunity to was there to fix any issues.

We were very happy with them keeping to the schedule that they had committed to and the quality of the work was good.

They have a handyman division that does smaller jobs. We called them on a referral from another company. Several other companies would not return our calls. When I called to make the appointment, they answered the phone. They did a wonderful job. Our job was not too small for them. When they were done, you could not see where any holes were the walls.

This was an example of how a remodel should go. There was clear and consistent communication from the project manager throughout the job. They managed the subcontractors and coordinated all work so there was no time lost or wasted. One phase of the job moved smoothly to the next. The work included demolition of existing floors and some kitchen and bathroom facilities. We didn't do any structural changes; just refurbished the existing interior. Work included plumbing, carpentry, flooring, painting, cabinets, counters and electrical. Two exterior doors had water damage including some exterior structure, so they were replaced and the structure repaired (minor damage, fortunately). The original estimate was completion in 6 weeks and everything but a shipment damaged under counter LCD light is complete at the end of 7 weeks. The flooring subcontractor under estimated the amount of flooring, so that created the delay beyond the original end date. We also increased the scope of the job considerably, so the work done in 7 weeks is considerable. We lived in the house throughout the remodel. They cleaned up the job every day at the end of the work day and did everything they could to make it more bearable for us. We always had the stove, dishwasher and refrigerator, even though we didn't have a kitchen sink for a couple of weeks. All of the workers were courteous and professional. We are very satisfied with the finished product. The workmanship is all excellent. The materials are first rate. The fit and finish of all work is outstanding. Our home's interior is like new. After hearing many horror stories of remodeling efforts that went bad, we are delighted with how our job went. Potter Construction made sure that the job and results exceeded our expectations.

We had found them at a home show. We spoke with the owner and his designer. We felt that Mr. Potter is committed to quality. We met with a couple of contractors and felt their bids were too vague or high. Mr Potter gave us a good bid. We spent a lot of time with their designer and they were willing to design it to our wants and needs. They were flexible and diligent. The virtual walk-through program is the tool that made this project run smoothly. The knowledge and the professionalism of the designer made it easy to work with them and the addition turned out better that expected. Their on-site carpenter was amazing. He made critical suggestions and he is an excellent listener. He was always concerned about what I had to say and came back with excellent results. He oversaw the project effectively and efficiently.

The project went very well indeed, with only one minor glitch that we will be able to live with. The people were super to work with, kept the premises very clean during the whole process, did the work on time, even finished it well ahead of schedule. They kept us apprised of the schedule, what was expected of us, what we could expect of them. There were no surprises, except how great it looked when they were finished.
