Horribly - management at Pinky's is very unprofessional and unresponsive. DO NOT USE PINKY’S! We have had Pinky’s come out twice this year to fix issues with a leak under the kitchen sink and then a leak in the faucet handle on a rental property. Although the first leak became a bigger, more expensive repair than we thought it should, the leak was fixed. This 2nd visit proved our suspicions—Pinky’s must have a business model where they attempt to pressure customers into a more significant effort than warranted. They always find ‘something’ that necessitates a bigger repair and only guarantee work of the bigger repair (basically a total replacement). We are currently based overseas so aren’t there to do the work ourselves or question their assessment when they assess the work as urgent. This may only occur when the homeowner isn’t there but I would be very suspicious of anything they do so would watch every move the technician makes. That won’t be us again since we would never call Pinky’s again!

Technician was able to get it done in about an hour. When paying for plumbing I understand you have to pay for the skills, tools, and everything that goes with it that I personally don’t have for the job and they have to pay their bills too. I didn’t feel like I got screwed but the price was a bit more than I’d like it to be. I didn’t stress this too much, as the tech was ready to jump in and get it done right there, felt confident in the technicians ability to make sure this is done right the first time. He was very attentive and caring.

My exterior faucet had a significant drip, and on Friday eve got much worse. I called first thing Sat, and they came out that day. Two guys came, and the younger one did most of the work. They gave me an estimate, and I felt it was too high ($427) but the water was running. I asked about how much was the part, and they said about $50, and $40 tax.. They finished in about an hour. I do not understand how about 1 hour's work can cost $335. The faucet appears to work OK, and they were prompt, hence the overall B.

Pinky's responded quite quickly and got out to my location within about 2 hours of my first call to them which was excellent. My toilet was leaking from where it connected to the wall, but it turned out to be a problem with the valve (which is luckily replaceable) rather than anything inside the wall. The toilet was also having issues and needed to be replaced. The quote for the new valve, new toilet and install was 975 incl. tax, which I thought was quite high. However, I had already taken time off work and he was already here, and had the toilet on the truck, so I went for it. Installation was quick and fairly painless, installer did a good job, this was about a year ago and everything is working great, he properly sealed the bottom. My only issue is with the price, I later researched the item that was installed and it's under $300 at a hardware store. Installation can be had for around $200 so it feels like a steep premium to pay for convenience. Not sure if they charge everyone the same amount but in hindsight it felt a little like they took advantage of my situation. If you really need quick service (and are willing to pay for it) this may be a good choice, but I don't think they offer a good deal if you are willing to shop around and schedule in advance.

Pinky's responded to a gas leak call at my rental house and after removing the meter to test the piping, replaced the meter with a severely defective gasket. They charged me $348 to find the leak (though my tenant said he was the one who noticed where a heater was leaking). After several days, my tenant noticed that the meter was leaking gas so I called Pinky's and asked them to respond to this emergency on a Saturday. They said they couldn't come until the following Monday despite their logo that says 24 hour service and though I told them my tenant had gas water heater, gas range etc. I ended up calling Puget Sound Energy who came out immediately and replaced the defective gasket on the meter. After calling Pinky's and sending pictures of the gasket, I was told that "it was not leaking when we left."

Other companies had given phone quotes of $500. Installer from Pinky's quoted around $1300. He explained why the big difference, that it's easy to lowball a quote when they haven't been on site. We thought we could trust him and wanted to have the work completed due to other deadlines.

My elderly parents, who have just moved to the area, needed their main bathroom sink drain unclogged. Pinky's sent out 2 guys, who spent half an hour snaking the drain. They removed a wad of hair. The original bill was $360 but they gave them a discount and charged $306. My parents were stunned by the price, as was I. Absolutely will not use Pinky's again. Didn't rate the quality of the work because quality doesn't matter when you are given the shaft afterwards.

Pros:
- Able to come out same day
- Pinky's had smiles on their faces
Cons:
- Quoted $1300 for Hot Water Tank, price increased by $600 after it was removed due to "code violations"; Angie's List says price of water heater should be somewhere between $1200-$2200
- Set up water heater incorrectly which resulted in water all over new water heater, manual, alarm and floor (resulted in them coming back for 2nd time)
- Week later found out the sink Pinky's removed to install water heater was leaking and had ruined sink cabinetry. Pinky's blamed it on code violations and said it would attempt to fix, but it would be $300 if fixed correctly (3rd time visited). New Angie's List recommended plumber came out and fixed it for $30
- Pinky's says water heater has 10 year guarantee, but all paperwork only says 5 years
Lessons Learned:
- If a plumber doesn't offer itemized services (just package deals), don't do business with them
- Pay with credit card, not cash so services can be disputed with credit card company
- Only go with A rated providers, if they have a B rating or less there is a reason

We continued to experience problems with the toilet after his initial visit, so he came back and made some additional repairs which seems to have remedied the problem.  He didn't charge for the second visit either.  Ultimately, it was a good experience.

We had originally contacted RotoRooter who tried to snake out the sewer line, but they were unable to break through the roots enough to allow the camera to inspect the line.  RotoRooter quoted us a price of $4000 dollars.  We decided to check other plumbers to comparison price and were delighted with Pinky's estimate for the exact same work.  Pinky's Plumbing employees were prompt, very professional, courteous and efficient.  They took the time to explain exactly what they would be doing and kept us informed of their progress as they did the work.  I don't know why the difference in the cost of the work between the two companies was so much, but I am a Pinky's fan forever.
