"I remember these doors because there were like 4 doors in one small hallway. It looked like someone painted latex based paint over oil based paint and they didn't properly prep the surface. And based on the age of the house, there could have been lead in the paint before, so we had to be very careful and clean. We used our HEPA vac and lots of plastic! We completed the doors which was pretty amazing in an 8 hr period!"

"Thanks for the good review. I say this a lot but it's true that we are committed to making each customer happy. Most of the time, we under promise and over deliver, but when that doesn't happen its a matter of expectations being higher than we can deliver. In this case, everything worked out great. Super nice customer and good quality work by us."

"This guy misrepresented the scope of the work, tried to cheat us out of paying for it and then suggested that we let a King County Judge determine the outcome. So I did file suit in Small Claims Court as he suggested and I won! I have written proof that he understated the size of the job, I have written proof that he refused to pay and I have written proof that he was happy with the quality of the work. I knew that he would leave us a bad review after loosing in court so I asked the Judge if he could ask the cheapskate to refrain from leaving a bad review. This customer purchased an 8 hr one day promotion then asked us to come back and paint the other half of his bathroom but didn't want to pay. We had 14.5hrs in this job and he didn't want to pay for the 6.5hrs or the supplies needed to do the job. The Judge AGREED with me and made him pay, I think you can understand why he left a crappy review. We don't wast time on jobs, just because the job takes longer doesn't mean we are wasting time! We have plenty of work and he was lucky that we squeezed him in. We even worked on Saturday to make his job happen. At the end of the job, I have in writing that he was happy with the work, so please trust our positive reviews and disregard this MISREPRESENTATION by a poor customer!"

"We do good work and Angie's List customers have recognized that by giving us 48 "A" ratings, which is why Angie's List awarded Piece of Cake Painting the SUPER SERVICE AWARD for 2015. Don't be fooled by a few low ratings. Perhaps we aren't perfect, like most humans, but we fix our mistakes. This customer spent $249 on painting that should have cost at least double that, (and she got extra hours on the day that we painted for her and then 3 of us spent another visit redoing everything, at no cost). Paint doesn't just peel off unless something else is going on, like a moisture issue. We use expensive, high quality products which are warrantied, if there's a problem there are remedies."

For the record, "this company" did not complain about the cost of doing business with Angie's List, I may have in the past but not anymore. I do take the time up front to explain what is and isn't included to avoid misunderstandings. The Storefront offer clearly says that you are purchasing 8 hours of painting labor, caulking and spackle. Piece Of Cake Painting has to pay for all of the consumable supplies (blue tape, PG5 tape, roller covers, plastic, sandpaper, protective paper, etc) used to complete your job, they are not free. And we are willing to give our customers our discounted costs on the supplies used to do your project, so there are cost savings passed on. To say that we are "nickle and diming" is a misrepresentation, we don't charge for the tools we use, we don't charge for the gas to get to your house, we don't charge for many costs associated with working for you. Please read the details and understand what you are buying. And in the State of Washington when you buy something, you pay sales taxes, that shouldn't be a surprise. Now, as far as the oil drips on the street end of the driveway, the van did leak some oil, which I wiped off to the best of my ability, that's on us. We will have the van serviced to avoid this in the future, and until then we will put something under the van to eliminate this issue. We are passionate about painting and do our best on every project."
