Paul is a nice man, but his skill level is closer to that of a handyman than a master builder.  I think that he overrates his knowledge and capability to the detriment of his clients.

The end result, for the most part, is good over all. The project itself, on the other hand, was not. The basement was an 800 sq. ft. blank slate for them to work with. What was suppose to be a 3 to 4 month project ended up being almost a year and about $30,000.00 MORE than what was estimated. PB left us hanging for weeks on end without any work being done (they seemed to have over booked themselves and needed to hop from job to job in order to collect money from other customers in order to pay their workers).
Our bathroom floor and shower tile had to be done TWICE because the first time, most of the tiles came out crooked. We had to pay them again, just for them to fix THEIR mistake! Their tile guy had installed cracked and broken marble in the shower surround when there were plenty of unused marble left still in the box.
Their electrician Alex, was argumentative at times and actually raised his voice at us more than once. He was undependable and often late. When he did arrive, he would run in like the Tasmanian Devil and even brought his teen-aged kid with him to and quot;hang outand quot;! This guy wired half of our basement, including our living room/entertainment room on ONE 15 amp circuit!
On their web-site they claim they are licensed and certified, but failed to produce those credentials when asked on every occasion. And to top things, PB has been doing a remodeling job for our neighbor that has been going on for AT LEAST FOUR YEARS! The list goes on.
Do yourself a favor and research PB Constructions' affiliation with Ewing and Clark Construction and the now defunct Paragon Builders.

I had the good fortune of coming across PB Construction during my internet research for companies that did basement remodeling. We have a 1940's bungalow with a basement that badly needed help. This was a completely unfinished dark and dingy basement with concrete floor and walls, exposed beams and a maze of nonsensical plumbing, a serious water intrusion problem and broken windows. We had a total of 5 contractors come to do a bid on the job. We were looking to add a bathroom, media/tv room, guest bedroom, designated laundry and workbench space. Tadd was the ONLY one who said he could put in a traditional toilet. Everyone else said our only option was a macerating toilet. Tadd came extremely prepared. He had already done research on the history and layout of the house and had, I guess, the city blueprints of the house. Tadd was incredibly professional and knowledgable about all aspects of the process of this large renovation. He assisted us in the design and layout of the basement in how to best maximize the usability of the space. He designed a walk-in closet for me under the stairs. We had a lot of old but nice wood shelves that were repurposed into built-ins for our tv room. Beyond the basement renovation, PB Construction also redid our driveway, replaced all the electrical throughout the house, added a toilet in our and quot;mother-in-lawand quot; and redid the flooring in our upstairs bathroom. The entire process was very smooth and surprisingly stress free. The project manager Nick and contractor Gregorio were really great to work with. We would definitely work with them again. Their customer service and quality of work is truly grade A. Our basement is now an extremely beautiful living space that is very bright, spacious and inviting. We could not be happier with the end result and are truly glad we chose PB Construction.

I worked with a designer who knew this company. The designer helped with a lot of this project. This company did the construction work but the designer took care of the details such as paint color and aesthetics.
I think they did a great job. I've already recommended them to friends and I'd definitely would use them again if necessary. Todd came out and did an estimate which was really good. He worked really well with my designer and there were no surprises in cost. It took longer than I expected because they were on some other projects. However, when I called asking for an update or trying to find out when they'd be back the project manager was really great about giving me accurate information. They always showed up when they said they would. In all, the quality of the work and product used was great. I also really liked all the people who were coming into my house. As a single woman, it can be a little weird to have men coming in and out of the house. They were very clean and made sure they put things down on the floor to protect my property. They were really polite, nice, and professional throughout the entire project. I think Todd hires really good people to work with him.

It turned out great. Tad is really great. I am extremely busy person and he was able to work with me in terms of coordinating meetings, phone calls and e-mails. I would recommend him.
