I’m not quite sure what is taking so long to get any updates from this company. I’ve been waiting for an update on the siding being painted, touch ups they missed to be fixed, have their interior team fix the walls their crew punched nails through the wall, broke the frame of our kitchen window, and pick up the materials that have been blocking our driveway since the start of the project. It took them three weeks from the initial pick up date I was given for their team to pick up and confirm that the honey bucket had been taken from our property. Of course I had to call them to follow up and actually get it picked up. All of this to basically summarize that if you want your siding done in a timely manner and to work with a cohesive team that values communication and their customers as much as theirs salesman Brad told us they do, then find another company aside from Pacific Exteriors.

I hired Pacific Exteriors to do two things; one went fine, the other was pretty much bungled. They did a good job replacing the siding on a southern second-story wall above the garage. However, on each of the three window items, there were problems with the installation that now -- three months later -- still have not been resolved. 1) A deck window with a slider -- the installers broke the slider glass during installation, and we lived for several weeks with tape and vinyl sheeting covering it. 2) A garden window, where they installed it despite there being a broken cover on the outside that's designed to keep rain out of a vent to the interior; that vent cover still hasn't been replaced three months later, while moisture undoubtedly is seeping in. 3) A glass sliding door that takes 2X as much force to move as a 15-year-old sliding door we have elsewhere. (Yes, I measured the force required to pull it along, using a fish scale.) That one they sent me to the manufacturer to file a warranty claim. So no, at this point I wouldn't recommend Pacific Exteriors. Will update this post if the situation changes.

They did an excellent job. Their workmanship was outstanding and their crews were very efficient and hard working. They responded to my requests, their price was fair, and I would definitely hire them again. I would highly recommend them as well.

This was to be a 6 week project. It started July 2019 and was mostly finished in November. Although it wasn't until January when they had a sub fix a window that was broken during the first week of work. ... The bid was very professional. The Project Manager was very positive and responsive. But there was a constant breakdown in communication between the PM and the subs that would (or would not) show up for work. The PM rarely pushed back on us when we had an issue, BUT the problem was the execution on items big and small. We finally gave up on our mutually agreed punch list of small items (reattach doorbell, put the house numbers back, fix damaged hose bib, etc.) in exchange for our $400 balance. Further, one corner of the new gutters were not attached properly back to a drain, resulting in water in our basement months later. Frustrating but when I called, they came out to fix it. And despite the fact we had leftover paint, they re-painted the new gutter section a close, but not quite the same color. I believe they were overwhelmed (summer/fall 2019) but it resulted in a very poor experience.

We hired Pacific Exteriors (PE) to paint our townhouse in Seattle, and they eventually convinced us that we needed to expand the job to cover re-siding the south side of the house. The people who work for PE are pretty nice, and management is quick to make reductions in price when the team makes mistakes. This doesn't quite make up for the significant number of mistakes that were made on the job, though, thus the rating. The mistakes appear to relate to communication and management lapses. Here is a brief history of those mistakes: 1. They were very slow to respond during the negotiation phase, pushing out the start of the project for months as I waited on responses and appointments to be scheduled. This consumed valuable summer schedule, resulting in subsequent mistakes. 2. They did not communicate with us when they were ready to finally start the job, which meant that they showed up and started work on the siding while I was away on a business trip. 3. For this reason they were nearly finished with the siding when I came home and pointed out that they had put up the wrong kind of siding as specified in the contract. They ended up needing to tear off all of the siding they put up to replace it. 4. For this reason they ran out of summer and the rainy season started, meaning that the house was half-done for six months 5. When the clouds cleared they never followed up as promised to schedule the painting. Eventually I had to contact them multiple times to get the painting done. 6. They then showed up and painted the house the wrong color, despite giving them very specific color directions. I needed to contact them to re-paint the house the right color. This was coupled with a series of smaller mistakes: A. Tore up our flower garden while residing B. Left trash scattered around with each visit C. Crews consistently showed up very late for scheduled appointments (e.g. scheduled to show up at 8 am, I took time off from work to meet them, then they showed up at 3 pm) D. Spilled paint on the ground and "missed" the house on several occasions, painting decorative rocks and the like E. Showed up to paint on a Friday before a hot weekend, sealed up all of the windows in preparation for painting, then left for a long weekend with no ventilation. We had to go out and tear the plastic off the windows so we could breathe. The price with PE was great, but ultimately given the problems I cannot recommend them.

We are very happy with the final product. We used the Hardie Board and they had to remove multiple layers of previous siding, replace trim, facia and soffits etc. They were able to add insulation in our old house, which has made a nice difference. There were only minor issues, for instance something they used to cover nail holes dried the wrong color about a year later. But they came and fixed it no charge, and the house looks beautiful.

I am happy with the work as completed, house looks great. The schedule to get it done--contract signature to completion--was far too long, 5 months. Daily cleanup from the team was an issue and I resorted to doing it myself on multiple occasions. Had to deal with a handful of minor issues of quality and consistency; some leftover equipment never retrieved. Sometimes responses from Project Manager took several days.

I asked for a quote for vinyl siding. I waited for two weeks for my appointment. When the guy showed up he informed me that they only did James Hardin siding when I had specifically asked for vinyl.

The job went on without a hitch. No problems at all, they were done in just a few days and the house looks great. With the baked on paint of the hardieplank, I expect I can extend the time to paint the house another 10 years.

I called Pacific Exteriors and met with David. I told him I was on a budget and want to replace the siding that needs attention right away. We walked around the house and I pointed out siding issues that I knew of and he thoroughly inspected each wall/section of the house. He also explained what signs I should look for to determine if new siding is needed. This made me confident that they were going to do the job correctly. Then it started to rain really hard so David told me to go inside and he will take measurements to write up an estimate. After a short time, he had a full estimate ready to go. He went over his observations of the siding and explained why he thought some walls had to be replaced right away and why other walls were still in good condition for awhile. He gave me options and allowed me to decide without any pressure. This is when I knew I was dealing with an HONEST company. The siding turned out great and now my house looks brand new! Pacific Exterior made the process easy and they made me feel cared for.

Hired Pacific through Thumbtack to replace some defective siding originally installed by builder.  Estimate was provided by owner, who was prompt, professional and courteous, and offered a winter time discount.  Work crew and supervisor were on time, respectful, and did a great job using higher quality components than the original builder.  Initial paint job had some streaking due to unexpected rainstorm, and they came back for another coat at no charge.  Overall very pleased.

Pacific Exteriors sub-contracted V. C. Painting to paint our exterior cedar shingles, trim, etc. (originally a two-toned white, off-white for body w/ bright-white trim.  The new colors are a light-grey for the body, with a white trim to match the white fiberglass windows).  Make sure that everything is in the contract.  I do mean everything!  Take nothing for granted.
To date:  we are waiting until spring to complete the job.
The "finished" parts:  All the prep work, the garage, the west and north sides of the house.  The dark primer and mis-placed caulking shows through the white paint.  The brand new, unfinished wood, people door, to the garage was painted with flat paint, and shows heavy stipple, and paint marks/streaks all over.  Caulked weep holes shut ..... all on the short list:
The unfinished parts:  The house doors and door trim were not done, as it's too late in the year.  The south side has one coat on body, and one coat on the trim.  The east side was scraped down to mostly bare wood, so the whole side is primed, but not painted.
The sub-contractor painted when he was told by us and a neighbor that it was too late in the day to be painting.  The next morning we had paint white paint along the full length of the front and back of the house.  They came out and powerwashed the Treks decking, but there are still some spots on it (and one very small spot got damaged).
The worst of what was done:  In late August we had professionals install 9 new, factory ordered, custom Milgard Ultra Fiberglass windows -- white, factory baked-on paint.  Not cheap.  We asked that the windows be left alone!  Multiple times.  They got dark primer on the white fiberglass.  They they not only caulked the fiberglass, they put so much caulking on that they plugged the weep-holes shut!  The windows still had factory stickers on them.  We had the pros who installed them come out an redo all the caulking and open the weep holes (vcp used the wrong stuff for fiberglass!).  To us, it's a no-brainer -- new replacement windows, installed by professionals who know how to caulk them -- Do..Not..Need..Caulk.  Period!
They got caulking in/on places that don't get caulked.  The caulking they use yellows, and to date has not fully set in places.
Per Steve, it would cost us approximately $1,800 more because sanding was "not in the contract".  There was never any mention of sanding during the sales pitch.  We always figured sanding was standard industry practice.  No feathered-in edges.  No light pre-sanding of a glossy surface.
On cedar shingles they did not use a wire brush going with the grain, they used another tool going against the grain.  In some spots that left gouges on the shingles.  This tool left "hairs" that stick straight out from the siding when they used the roller.   We were told by Rick that our shingles would be back-brushed down, not rolled -- but that was "not in the contract" either.
The roller they used must have never been changed or cleaned properly.  There are stipple marks all over the trim, and glops of semi-dried paint that deposited in places.

The sub-contractor painted when he was told by us and a neighbor that it was too late in the day to be painting.  The next morning we had paint white paint along the full length of the front and back of the house.  They came out and power washed the Treks decking, but there are still some spots on it (and one very small spot got damaged).
We'll be having the cedar shingles replaced on the east side of the house in a year or two with new cedar shingles.  No, we won't be using Pacific Exteriors - their contracts don't cover everything -- nor do they offer up the different options for quality work versus sub-par options.  Sub-par is what we got our exteriors painted with.
