The work went perfectly. Kathy's bid clearly explained her recommendations for the work that needed to be done. On the day the work was scheduled, the crew arrived on time and worked steadily. They not only took care of all the practical concerns (keeping branches out of the alleyway), but took time to tend the trees with careful small cuts and fine work on the smaller branches. The trees looked much better and have thrived since. The crew could not have been easier to deal with, and they left the yard spotless.

Responsible, reasonable, and very efficient. Small job but will definitely use in the future.

We contracted to have Out on a Limb cut down an approximately 80 foot poplar in my yard. The stump was about 4 feet in diameter.
They did an excellent job working together (with precision) to remove the tree to the ground. Branches and lt;6and quot; were chipped and hauled away.
The cleaned up the sawdust that had fallen in the alley.

It was precisely what I asked them to do.
I will use them again to prune another tree on out lot.

I starting working with Kathy in 2006 and happily continue to use her company. I have 12 mature (50+ yrs?) firs and cedars on my 7500 sq ft lot, so it requires assessing and caring for the trees, but also taking care to protect the small house below. She comes out about every two years (this year was year 3 and therefore a little more and expense involved).
Work was primarily safety pruning and cabling. Kathy had already been by to assess so that she could provide an estimate of the work; when she and the crew arrived for the work, she took me on a walkaround so we could determine priorities if more than one day was involved. When we were done, I left them to do the work.
Any wood big enough for firewood were neatly stacked. Woodchips were left as requested.
An additional note: in the course of doing the walkaround, an extra non-tree task was identified (untangling invading wisteria -- both old vines and new -- from a nearby deciduous), and I chose to have them do that as well. Although I knew this might be expensive ($80/manhour), most of the crew were certified arborists, and they had the equipment to take care of more efficiently and with least damage than my regular gardener. I was delighted by the result, saving a tree, and am motivated to keep the wisteria under better control.

Kathy and her two-man crew did outstanding work. A++. (We are intense gardeners and take the stewardship of our old trees seriously, so we are very selective about who we hire to prune the cherry and pear trees.) They arrived promptly as scheduled. We briefly discussed the scope of work (consistent with the previously solicited bid), then they efficiently and quietly began pruning the cherry and pear trees. Kathy is a clear and knowledgable communicator, which I deeply appreciate. We discussed the pros and cons of pruning certain limbs/branches on our large old cherry tree, and she was very helpful in answering all of questions. We trusted her decisions and respected and admired her workmanship. After the pruning was completed, they did a great job cleaning up. The quality of the work was outstanding and the price was fair. It doesn't get any better than that. I will recommend "Out on a Limb Tree Company" to my friends, family, and neighbors.

I would say overall it didn't go as I expected it would. I had read good reviews on Angie's list before I used her services. I was definitely taken by surprise.

They were prompt and came out when they said they would and went right to work. They were very professional and we are happy with what they have done.

They came on time, worked quietly and efficiently, gave good advice, took care not to injure our other plants, were respectful of our neighbors property, and did a great clean-up job. We couldn't be happier withj our new "haircut"!

Overall they did a great job. They showed up on time, did a great job with the trees, and cleaned up very nicely.

Kathy is a very busy, professional person. As a customer, I had to be patient with the amount of time it took her to get back to me, but it was worth it. She and her team did an excellent job.

Overall it went well, although it did take some time before I heard back from her for an estimate, but she acknowledged that when she called. I think she actually drove by to see the job before calling us back, which is part of the reason there was a delay. Her estimate was half what someone else estimated, and she and her team were prompt and on time when she stated she would come. She also pointed out some ivy that was growing on a tree in our backyard that should be cut down (not a small task, it involved going at least 15 feet up the tree to cut the top part), and she ended up doing it without charging us extra. Overall we were very happy with the result.

It went very well. I was especially happy with the work they did on the bamboo! They cleaned everything up nicely. I will use them again.

Although it took some time to get someone to give an estimate and some delay in getting the work done, the work was done in a professional manner. This is a small company and the owner makes it clear that there is a considerable backlog in getting to projects, so the delays were somewhat expected. Kathy Holzer, the owner, gave good advice on what types of pruning (i.e. topping) are not desirable and what types of work her company will not do.

We have hired Kathy Holzer multiple times to remove or trim our trees. Most recently, she and her crew removed three medium-sized trees and arranged to have the stumps ground afterwards. She was flexible with scheduling and showed up on the specified day. The bill was the same amount as the estimate. We have no complaints about the service we received.
