Oliver and Blue Construction

I found Arthur here on Angie's list. We wanted to build a new shower in a space that used to have a claw foot tub. The project included removing the old walls and floor. Then new framing, plumbing, and custom tiling to create a ~ 5' by 3' shower. Arthur served as the general contractor and constuction person. The timing was well managed and he checked in every day about the work. Overall the project took about 10 days. We are really happy with the work and look forward to having a new shower that doesn't leak (which the previous one did due to faulty construction).
So yes I would recommend Arthur I appreciated the responsiveness and his professionalism.

Working with Arthur was wonderful!!  He built a beautiful back porch and stairs for our house. We had started the project with another contractor and to say what had been started was a disaster, would be an understatement. Arthur was able to correct what had already been done and he asked many thought provoking questions about the design details on the deck and stairs that I had never thought of.  The final product was better than I had ever hoped for - I am so glad we listened to his suggestions.  He also did some interior carpentry for us, adding new trim around doors and windows.  We have a very old house, with very few true right angles, but he managed to make everything look great.  We would not hesitate to call him for future jobs and look forward to working with him again.

One of the great things about Arthur is that he thinks a lot about a problem that you present to him. I've given him things that are unusual (I've got an old house, it has been worked on before I moved in by people who didn't know what they were doing, and it's got things in it I have no idea what they are). He checked with people at stores, looked things up on the internet, tried to find things like vents that would match the house. Also, he's very creative. I wanted to make a poorly constructed picture rail in my bedroom look nicer. I'd had other construction type friends of mine look at it, and the solutions they suggested weren't nearly as neat and efficient as the one Arthur came up with. It didn't take him very long, and it looks really nice. My washing machine was leaking (I'm not saying he fixes washing machines, but since he was already in the house and it was leaking, I had him take a look) and between the two of us we figured out what was wrong (it wasn't the washing machine). He came up with another creative solution that fixed the problem without costing a lot.

Working with Oliver and Blue was a wonderful experience. Arthur not only brought exemplary professionalism and technical skills to the project but was able to improvise and adapt the design to fit the space. He has an excellent eye for both the small details of the project and also how the project comes together as a whole. It was a pleasure working with Arthur and I wouldn't hesitate to hire him for my next home project.
