This project could have been an absolute nightmare but for Darrell, Mark and the team. I contacted several companies but only two actually followed through to give me bids. OFCI mostly does commercial demolition, but when it rains they fill in with residential work. It turned out that my concrete patio was not the normal 4-6'' thick but 8-12'' thick. No-one had ever seen anything like it. Our plan was to leave half the patio and a sidewalk by the house, but the cutter could only go 6'' deep into the concrete. Mark is an absolute master with the excavator and managed to break through the remaining depth without destroying the part we wanted to keep intact. Thank heavens Darrell had connections to bring in another dump truck last minute to handle the extra concrete. They had to come back the next day to do the topsoil. Mark then graded the entire alley - with lots of input from the neighbors! Everyone commented on how nice they were and the high quality of their work.
