Number 1 Japanese Auto Repair

For small things, I go to Number 1 Japanese Auto Repair, because I have a Nissan.  If I have a little problem, like something gives out, I go to the Number 1 Japanese Auto Repair.  He's great.  He's really busy, but he knows his stuff with Japanese cars.  It's a two person shop, so it's not a big place.  He is very good and he's on time.  When he promises something, it gets done.  He has to get the parts from somewhere else, but he always lets you know.  I'd say his price is competitive.  Usually there's two there, but as far as I know I've only dealt with one, but he's really good.  Like I said, it's a small business.  He had to keep my car overnight because he had to order the part from somewhere.  It's a Japanese car and my car is almost three years old, but it's in great shape.  It took basically one day and the car was very clean when they were done. What did they do really well?  They got the part, they fixed it on time, and he informed that there would be a delay because he had to get this part and it might take a bit extra - overnight - so I could leave the car there, which I did because I didn't really need it that day, and then go back and get it; or I could go get it and come back to get the part put in.  He's just responsive; very responsive.  They're friendly.  They're usually in the garage so you ring a bell and they come out promptly, so my first impression was good.

Tony has been taking care of our Highlander since we moved to Seattle about two years ago. He's done everything from oil changes to engine replacement. He's honest, we never feel pressured, and takes time to answer all our questions, even the ones we occasionally email him. I think we'd probably still come here if we moved out of state one day.

Tony has always provided us with professional, honest, knowledgeable service. On several occasions, when I thought my car needed an expensive repair, Tony has correctly diagnosed a much simpler repair, thus saving me lots of money over the years. His expertise in Japanese vehicles is such that he knows what problems are typical of certain makes and years, and can therefore easily diagnose issues that leave other mechanics stumped. He is gentle, kind, and humorous to boot.
We trust him so much that when it came time for my husband to buy a new (used) car, he ruled out all non-Japanese makes when he learned that Tony won't service them. We live in Edmonds now but I still make the trip to Greenwood to have Tony work on my car.

On the latest repair at his shop, the mechanic worked with me on getting a used part instead of buying one new. This saved me about 50% on the cost of the repair. He is thorough and performs very good work. He is very honest, and more interested in integrity than extracting money. He always does high quality work. We have gone back to him for several years because of the good experiences we have had at his shop.

No one was able to help re my Honda shutting itself off in warm weather, not various mechanics or dealers. Tony knew immediately and put in a new relay to the fuel line. Car runs beautifully now.

They were great and I was very happy with them. They tell you the truth is and whether it's a good buy. They gave us a list of things it might need and a maintenance schedule. We talked about that year and make of car. They were very friendly and very helpful. The piece of mind was great. I intend to use them for the ongoing maintenance.

They were quick and he gave us good service.

Things went fine and the price was reasonable.

Checked on what a 120,000 service entailed. Got pricing from dealers and independent shops. #1 was half the dealer's price. Took the car in the next day, picked it up as promised. Good job, good price. No complaints.

I like him and trust him. He can take my car really quickly when I need it. Sometimes, I have to wait a day but sometimes I can bring it in the same day. He turns it around really quickly, and he will always call me when he has figured out what is wrong. He doesn’t find things to do to my car and I trust him because of that. He just does what is needed. He will suggest if a particular thing needs to be done, but if it is something that doesn’t need to be done right away, he’ll tell me about it.

I like that they are very honest and don't look for extra work that needs done. He will tell me what can wait and what needs to be done right away. I can usually get my vehicle in right away. They always get things done quickly.

It was excellent. I've used them before. They are a second generation business who are "painfully" honest and give great prices for what they do. They are professional, courteous, and kind.

We ve gone to number one for 6 years and we ve always been happy with their service. They are extremely honest, reliable and have always been able to fit us in which has helped us out. I would highly recommend them.

They do excellent work, tune ups, general repair and they are reasonably priced. They won't do work if it's not necessary and they develop a maintenance program that they'll convey to you.

I TOTALLY TRUST THEM TO BE HONEST AND FIX ONLY WHAT IS REALLY NEEDED - AND TO DO IT WELL. THERE IS NOTHING LIKE HAVING A MECHANIC YOU CAN TOTALLY TRUST! THEY REALLY KNOW JAPANESE CARS!
