• *    During several parts of the process we pivoted to a different design
• choice and Nest had no problem changing their approach and collaborating with
• us on an appropriate solution.
• *    Even when they used subcontractors (paint, drywall, etc), they are
• always heavily involved and were always present!  We never had to worry about a thing.
• We will be using them again on our next project.

David & James are fantastic to work with!  Quick communication.  Reliable.  Great ideas but also open to feedback.  Completely trustworthy working in your home - great for our busy family.  Dog & kid friendly - if that is a concern.  My 3 year old asks about them by name :)  Have also been readily available for follow-up questions.  Extremely dedicated!

They were personable and professional.  They made sure that they got it right.  That's what made me choose them again.  There was one minor mistake and they fixed that.  There was no problem.  

Nest came in and did a magnificent job. They were professional and sensitive to my pocketbook. They pay attention to detail and cleaned up immaculately every day after work.They showed up every day on time and were responsive to questions. They also had an outstanding sense of design and functionality. I would hire them again if I ever needed to do work in and on my house!

David and James are awesome, I really trust these guys to do a great job, to get it done, and to make it beautiful.

How often do you hear people say "we like our contractors so much, we get together for dinner!"? To date, we have had three bathrooms, a full one bedroom apartment and a full door replacement done by James and David Coats of Nest DesignBuild and, when budget allows, will definitely have them do more work on our house. We also felt 100% comfortable with them having full access to our house and properties. Last year, we went through the harrowing process of gutting and fully remodeling two bathrooms and turning what was a large room containing the washer/dryer, a shower stall and a toilet in the corner into three amazing, unique bathrooms with vintage fittings and personality. Our house is very old, 1908, and has had many hands changing it's face. Nest was able to deal with all the lovely surprises (pipes leading nowhere, no subfloor where there should have been, etc...) with patience and great ideas. We were able to keep entact and highlight the great funkiness and period style of the house while making it functional and comfortable. Recently, we found out we needed to replace a door and jamb, we didn't hesitate to call them to do the job. We did have a bit from a door and window company that was going to be about the same price. We decided on Nest do the work because we knew that they would not only do a fabulous job but that we had such great experinences with them in the past. They listen to what we want and were very honest with the reality. We always felt that they did the very best job - never cut corners and we always very respectful of our wishes.

They really did transform that place. They were accommodating and worked around the schedule as I had a little one. They were collaborative and gave suggestions. It is a father and son practice.

With Nest you are not just getting a contractor, you're getting design team. David and James helped us vision a much better, more elegant finished product than we thought possible given our limitations. They were punctual, straightforward, and really good listeners. David and James are incredibly detail oriented. For example, we bought basic tiles to save costs and they suggested hand-beveling the corners for a more finished look that fit our space exactly. The results were beautiful and well built. These guys bring an artist's sensibility to the work. They don't want anything to look stock. For example, James took great care to arrange the travertine tile so that the swirls created subtle and pleasant pattern. They were easy to talk to. They made sure they understood what we wanted before they went forward. It was a great collaboration.
