The owner provided me a quote within a couple days of the initial meeting. He was very enjoyable to work with throughout the project. Communication and scheduling were excellent. The recommended paint supplier did an excellent job working with me to custom match the accent colors I wanted. The painting crew was friendly, professional and highly skilled. They took a lot of pride in their work. The project was completed a day ahead of schedule and the finish product was fantastic. Mitchel Painting is truly exceptional.

Grant was recommended by a coworker. I'd bought a deal for another painter from a school auction but got a weird feeling about them, but we really like Grant and hired him instead. He was great. He even helped us find a decorator who could advise us on some tricky color issues. We had him work while we were out of town. They were able to keep our cat contained in the basement level while they painted everything upstairs except individual rooms. It's a big, complicated space with a high-ceilinged entryway for the split level so there's no way we could do it ourselves safely. We didn't even have to move any furniture, just the knickknacks. We came home to a beautifully painted house. Every line was straight and perfect, and with the two colors we were using there's no way it would have looked as good. He also did the ceiling, which is popcorn and would have been a pain for us to paint.

For a one-room thing, we can do it ourselves, but if we ever need to do the main upstairs again, we'll call Grant.

They are extremely busy during the summer painting houses, but they worked us in.

Our previous paint job just two years ago had failed, turning chalky and fading terribly. Mitchel Painting had done a beautiful job on another house in our neighborhood so I called them for an estimate. Grant from Mitchel not only gave us a reasonable estimate, he explained the kind of high quality of paint that we needed to avoid a similar result, since we were using a dark color. We were concerned about damage to our plantings, the close proximity of our neighbor's home, potential damage to our contemporary aluminum windows, and how they could manage the height of our 'Seattle Skinny' house.

His team did an excellent job of prepping the house - from washing to recaulking, all the while working carefully around our plantings and windows. They finished on time, on budget and left the house looking great and without damaging any plants or window trim.

The paint is looking great, nearly a year out from the job and I'm confident that it will hold up well. I'd use Mitchel again in a heartbeat and recommend them wholeheartedly.

I liked that the first contact I made with them seemed very good and prompt, also very sincere. I felt confident choosing them over other bidders. He also had several good references. What I didn't like was that the paint job was not what I had hoped for. The daily workers were not being supervised every day. We had a difficult time communicating with the workers. Their idea of quality was different than my idea of quality.
Response from Mitchel Painting
"The home owners were not at home during the day when I worked at the project. Being a small company I start the day at the paint store and end the day at prospective customers houses. The quality area was one small area that the siding needed to be replaced but the customer felt a paint job would be all that was needed. It is tough to create new wood out of paint."
