As a Seattle-based nonprofit organization, we provide jobs, hot meals, housing assistance, showers, laundry services, vision care, preventive medical care and other support services to thousands of men and women every year. More than 3,900 homeowners, renters, investment property owners and businesses throughout King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties hire Millionair Club Charity workers every year for daily, temporary and permanent jobs. Our workers can provide a wide variety of services including general labor, painting, landscaping, moving, assistance, cleaning and maintenance. All Millionair Club workers have passed local and federal criminal background checks and can legally work in the United States. Our workers are employees of our organization. We pay the worker directly and invoice you on a weekly basis. To hire a worker you will first need to sign a contract with us. I don't use that anymore and I won't. That was too dangerous. They don't tell them what they are supposed to be doing and then when they get out here, they get angry. You don't want a 230 lb rock man being angry in front of you. I am an old lady alone. I am 81 years old. Some were really okay and some weren't. When I wouldn't call them back, one day when they sent the group in, this black guy walked in my house and started watching tv. I said, "What are you doing here?" He said, "I was taking a break." I said, "You just got here, Anton." There was 5 of them that came out. We were taking things out and separating things to throw away and things that were up for sell or giveaway. I said, "Anything you want in here, you can take it." If one was lazy, they all started to get lazy. They didn't come equipped. They didn't give them any gloves or masks. I had to go buy those. Those disappeared. When I quit using some of the black guys because they were not doing their jobs. One went out the door and had his shoes and socks off. I said, "What are you doing out here?" He said, "I got my feet wet." I said, "You didn't have to unless you were squirting them because I showed you how to do that." I said, "How old are you anyway?" He said, "41". He is 41 and lives with his mother and father. One of them showed up on my back fence while a couple other ones were working here. Tina was working. She said, "What are you doing here? You aren't supposed to be working?" He said, "Somebody said there was something about the carpet that had to be done." I said, "I didn't' call you to work here. You should never come here without going into the office. They are all homeless people. I called their office. One guy even called me up and told me he loved me. It was another black guy I said not to bring out because it's scary. Some of them had been with Millionaire a long time. They knew what to expect. They highly objected to not being told. One guy got mad and left. The only times rules were broken was when they were not told so they got a little disgusted. The work, they didn't complete because they were so slow. Punctuality, they were exceptional in. They will do it as fast as they can. They very rarely have women and I needed women too because I wanted them to help with the sorting in the house. I only got one woman and she went nuts. It caused me a big headache. When it rained and they couldn't work anymore, they got upset. I said, "I'll take you to the pizza place and maybe by that time, the rain will let up." I bought them lunch I don't know how many different times. I made a lot of phone calls to them about problems. I knew there may be some situations. I never thought I would have them calling me on the telephone after it was all over with. Some of those girls really don't know how to handle some problems.

It's gone incredibly well.  We had slightly guarded expectations just because you don't always know what you're getting with day labor, but the people they sent were pretty incredible. Punctual, hard-working, good at following instructions, and incredibly nice people, most of whom had suffered some unexpected setbacks in a hard economy, or were working their way back (like a union carpenter) from injuries.  We used them once, and then again and then again, and they kept exceeding expectations. There was one guy who was fair, but not terrible (he missed a few too many front yard weeds, which is easy to do), but the other five people have been just terrific, a ratio I'll take any day.
We've been recommending Milliionair Club to friends and neighbors ever since, and at this point, we'll use them for any misc work we have that their people can do. It also feels good that it's a nonprofit where someone isn't making money exploiting their labor, and that I believe they also cover insurance in case anyone injured themselves.  I've lived in Seattle nearly 40 years, owned a home for half of that, and can't believe I haven't used them before.  Rave recommendation.

Picked up the fellow at Millionair's Club right on time.  Came out to our house and asked for an outline of what needed to do. I showed him, explained where the tools were in the garage, and told him I would be glad to work with him to get things done. It was soon apparent that I could not keep up with his level of effort and I needed to find more for him to do if I was going to occupy the agreed upon time allotment (5 hours).  I would not hesitate to use them in the future.

Workers who come are always different.  Some have experience and do a great job; some have forgotten instructions and removed some nice plants along with weeding.  I've used them for years   because I could afford them. I always tip and provide a lunch.
Some have other skills and now Millionair Club can send people to paint, and do other skilled work for a higher pay.
Now you can't pay the workers directly and they all cost more than $9.
It is a good service for workers down on their luck and for customers who can't afford a gardening service.

Had scheduled them for 10:00 AM, they were there by 9:45 AM.  Went right to work, wouldn't let me do anything (I'm 66 yrs. old), and they loaded Heavy furniture from storage and unpacked it into a garage.  These guys had to travel from downtown Seattle, to Enumclaw on their own time!  They were very nice gentlemen.
This is the second time I've called the Millionaire's club, and I will call them again when I need help.

I supervised the work. I like being able to provide work for people who need it. They were extremely hard workers, thorough and if they had questions they stopped to ask me. James Holliday and Richard Duran were the two hard workers I had. They did a great job overall.

I have no complaints about him. They will assign a guy then you will pick him up in the bus stop and then he will just clean the house and you will pay him. The guy that came for me was pretty professional and he did a fine job.

We started out at 10 AM, loading a large truck with household goods.  It was pouring down rain, a really nasty day, but the guys were great!   They took the weather in stride, and the multiple boxes!  They had to go from SeaTac to Enumclaw so that's why it took so long (7 hours all total)/

I had a lot of work done. They were with me for weeks. It ran probably $50 or $60 a day. They were doing landscaping. My experience has been really good. You can make a request and if there is a worker that you really like, you can request that worker. They try their best to match you up with the person that they sent before. I think that is good because then you don't have to start all over again with a new individual. I've been really lucky, the people that they have sent me have been really hard workers, quality workers. One thing that I've found is that if they have a unique qualification, like the person I worked with last was really good at gardening, they send you the best at whatever area you need, if you specify. I think that is really neat.

We found the charity web site, which offers to send you their clients as day labor for $12 an hour.  They provide services for the folks too, like a place to shower and some breakfast, I think.  The folks get to keep all the money they earn, which is AWESOME.  We signed up, and bang, the man showed up, taking the bus here, right on time.  He did everything I asked, politely, and it was a lot of work!  A landscape service would have charged a lot more for the raking and bagging he did, especially because it was in the rain, and the grass in spots was geting a bit long, so hard to rake through.  I felt a bit bad only paying this amount, so I kept him supplied with hot coffee, and gave him some lunch.  he didn't ask, I just thought it was right.  I would use them again without hesitation.  Oh, the only reason I took 1 star off on responsiveness was that the charity didn't confirm by email or phone whether someone would be coming to fulfill our request or not.  I just thought they would.

I could not have asked for more.  I thought the gravel hauling would take most of the day.  He finished in 3 hours and spent the rest of the day working on removing weeds and vines and preparing the ground for sod.  Ron really worked hard.  He finished so much more than i ever expected.  I could not be more pleased with the service Ron delivered.  He was extremely professional as well.

It was excellent, as usual.
We've only  had trouble with one person and we asked not to have him back.
They are able to do most things around the house, much like a handyman capacity.

My son and I had to move my daughter's things from a third floor studio Capitol Hill walk-up to a two-bedroom apartment in Northgate.  For health reasons we needed a couple of movers instead of doing the heavy lifting ourselves.  I saw positive reviews on Angie's List and called the Millionair Club's Day Labor Referral Program; they link employers with individuals who have had local and national background checks and can legally work in the U.S.  I was clear about the third floor walk-up in my job definition.  The morning of the move we found both workers were there when we arrived (and we were nearly half an hour early).  My son went over the plan with them, then positioned himself in the rented van while Victor and Alberto began continuous trips up and down the stairs, sometimes using one of the two hand trucks we had rented.  Within 2-1/2 hours they had moved everything-over 60 boxes or other items.  Then we transported them to Northgate.  While I did a walk-thru my son took them for a fast-food lunch.  Luckily the new place had an elevator; about an hour later they were finished.  The Millionair Club suggests their workers make $10-12 per hour, but for moving the starting rate was $11 per hour.  They also suggest the client be prepared to offer the workers lunch, but to be flexible in case the workers prefer to work straight through and forego lunch.  We were very pleased that Alberto and Victor were thoughtful about their work, that they were respectful of our daughter's things and of us, and that they worked very hard to successfully do the job that needed to be done.  So we paid over what was suggested, but they clearly did not expect extra.  They took the bus to arrive and planned to do so as they left.  This is a wonderful program and we were very happy with the workers and with the results.
