"[Member Name Removed], First, thank you for the opportunity to work with your condo association! Our employees make us who we are, and I'm so glad our Service Department helped get your common mailboxes coordinated and installed. Ale and his crew will get copies of this as well :-) Repair to condominiums make up most of our work (special projects in service, building envelope repair, water mitigation and repair, as well as common area updates). We're here the next time you need anything!"
"[Member Name], Thank you so much for taking the time to post this review. We strive to complete our projects with as much communication and the least amount of disruption as possible. I will pass along your kudos to the crew(s) that worked on your project! Sincerely, Andrea Goodmansen"
"[Member Name], My apologies for the delayed response. Thank you for taking the time to post your review on Angie's list. We work hard to maintain the good reputation we have, and I will be placing a copy of your review in Vince's personnel file for his next review. :-) Sincerely, Andrea Goodmansen"
"[member name removed], Thank you for taking the time to post this review of McLeod Construction on Angie's List. Your comments are also going up on our brag board in the office for all our employees to see. :-)"
I was impressed with Craig Goodmansen, the general manager, who made an honorable decision regarding fixing the problems with the installation. He sent Joe Medera, the installer, back to do the job correctly. This resulted in additional labor and materials costs for the company. He did not pass these expenses on to me. Joe did a great job once he realized how plexiglass responded to hot sun and his design for securing the panels to a frame was great. It's aesthetically pleasing and functional now. And the high cost to me initially seems much more reasonable now given what was required to the job correctly.
The Real Estate Broker who monitored the work for me (I live out of town) was impressed by the meticulous work done by the crew. The job cost more than the original estimate, but I knew that was a possibility and the project manager who called me about the change order was clear, calm, and explained everything I needed to know. The change order cost just about exactly what the PM predicted.
Couldn't have been a better experience, painful as it was to fix damage that never should have happened.
"Thank you for your wonderful Angie's List report! We strive to provide the best customer service on every job. We appreciate you taking the time to post this!"
"Thank you for the opportunity to reply to the issues brought up by Member. The original scope of work was to demo and replace a concrete pad which led up to and supported the front porch of the home. Our bid for the concrete pad repair was sent on 8/31/10 and accepted by Member on 9/7/10. At that time, Member paid a standard 20% deposit. The new pad was poured on or about 9/20/10 per the specifications in our bid and with expansion joints to help offset three separate load bearing points. During demolition, rot damage was found in the porch stair treads, and Member declined a bid from us to do the rot damage repairs as she had another contractor to do that work. Once the first pour was complete, Member was happy with the work but did not want expansion joints in the pad. After a meeting with the Members regarding the fact that the pad was poured correctly but not the appearance they expected, McLeod Construction agreed to demo and repour the pad with no expansion joints (with no warranty to the lifespan of the pad) at no additional cost to the Members. The second pad pour was delayed due to the Member going on vacation and weather prohibiting work in October and November. It wasn't until the second pad was poured (in December) and Member was satisfied that we billed the remaining amount due in January. Member's claim that we left work unfinished is false. Any additional work outside the scope (i.e. porch rot damage repair) would have been a change order and therefore additional cost to the Members. McLeod Construction would like to respond to each issue brought up in order to clarify the work we performed at her home and to show McLeod Construction's commitment to customer service. In summary: McLeod Construction received a 20% deposit (industry standard) and began work within 20 calendar days from receipt. McLeod Construction worked with the client to get the work done to their satisfaction at our cost and against our recommendation as to correct process. McLeod Construction never left any work unfinished and never billed for work complete until the client was satisfied."
