Greg and Jessie did a very intricate herringbone marble backsplash for me. It required them cutting pieces which were 1/4and quot; across. It was time consuming and detailed. They did a flawless job. The backsplash looks amazing. They were on time every day and always cleaned up everything before they left. I have already referred them to a friend and already have another job I want them to do in my house. I can't recommend them highly enough.

This project was a small job surrounding a fiberglass shower. Greg's tile setter, Jeffy, did a good job, but clean up of the work area and work space in our driveway was a little messy which I had to clean up after he left. The next day, Greg came to grout and finish up. He too left more of a mess outside in the driveway, apparently shaking the painters cloth outside which left some wet epoxy grout on top of my car, which was parked outside. Overall the completed job looks ok, but Greg did not do a good job of cleaning the residue from the surface of the tile. When I called him about it, he suggested some cleaning materials I could use to take the material off. This should have been done by him and I am still working on the cleaning. We chose McArthur Stone because he was recommend by a supplier and his record on Angie's List was very good. Not all tile setters like to work with epoxy grout, Greg said he did, and now we're wondering how many Greg has actually done. We would not recommend him.
Response from MCARTHUR STONE LLC
"McArthur Stone was asked to come and grout a job that we did'nt install so that means the person who did the work quit and did'nt want to work for these people anymore for what ever reason or they were not experienced enough to work with epoxy grout so we were doing them a favor because no contractor likes coming in and finishing someone elses work. We explained to them that epoxy is a messy process and to expect to do alot of cleaning thats just how it is it's funny they wrote such a review because none of this was brought to our attention, and as you can see in their own comments the most important part is that they said them selfs the work looked good and i undercharged them gave them a great deal because they could'nt find anyone else to do the job, so this is the thanks i get for doing a favor. My company has a solid reputation for delivering quality installation and professionalism so i would hope that you disreguard this review as it is completely inaccurate."

He was a pleasant man to work with and did an excellent job. He was highly recommended to us by the tile company we dealt with. Ours was an outdoor project and epoxy grout was needed. It is more difficult to work with, but he had no problem with it. There was some confusion regarding our understanding of what days he would be there, making it difficult for us to plan our activities. All-in-all, we were very happy with his work. We would most certainly hire him again and recommend him to others. We receive many compliments on our entry from friends, etc. If we could, we would give the overall experience a B+, but there is not such a category.

We got 5 estimates. Greg came to the house to talk over our plan and get the details he needed to give us a bid. From the start Greg distinguished himself as someone who was flexible, creative, and dedicated to giving us what we wanted. He's confident in his abilities, and after seeing his work, the confidence is deserved. I've had tile work done by general contractors and it works, but it doesn't have as finished a look as we got from Greg. His bid was very competitive and I knew we were getting a bargain for the quality I was expecting. I've had 10-12 contractors working on the house over the past 3 months, and Greg gets an A+ in professionalism and customer service. When a decision came up, he talked to me about the options and even went out to find unique solutions for our particular job. Greg even saved me some work by helping fix a problem left by an earlier contractor. He worked around the schedule of the other pieces being worked on and did what we asked without any drama, or pushing. If you are considering tile work, look at other installers but definitely meet with Greg to get an estimate.

We had tiles installed in the shower, and bathroom floor. But my previous contractor was not comfortable using epoxy grout. I found 'MCARTHUR STONE' to perform grouting only with the epoxy grout. Greg Mcarthur turned out to be our neighbor. He did the job in two days about 2-3 hours each time. He made a very good impression, I am thinking about hiring him again.

As with another reviewer, I was given the contact information for various tile installers from my local tile store. I selected McArthur Stone based on proximity to my home and the positive review on Angie's List, and the guys at the tile store confirmed that Greg and his crew were not only an excellent choice, but perhaps they best in the state. This is exactly what I wanted for my project, since I have a 1924 Craftsman, and there are always surprises with older homes. While my job was small in terms of the total square feet involved (about 140), I felt I received the same service as I would if they were working on a larger project. The attention to detail, diligence throughout the project to take the extra time to do things right, and making sure I was happy with the results was exceptional. I had questions and wanted to learn about the process, and Greg and his crew were great to take the time to work with me and teach me along the way. Greg, Tyler, and John did a great job from start to finish, and anyone would be lucky to have them for their project. Being great means being booked up, so plan in advance, as they're a busy crew and booked out for several months at times.

We did a total remodel of our small bathroom. The local tile shop gave us recommendations for tile installers, warning us that "some are good, some are cheap, and some are available" but if we were looking for the best work we should call Greg McArthur. We called and discovered that Greg is a busy guy, and we had to wait weeks. When he came out to give us an estimate he was professional and focused. He sent his estimate by email and was helpful in ordering the material from the supplier. After we set up our install start date we had a couple of delays due to illness in his crew. Greg was helpful in outlining his ideas for the tile layout. The installer, Tyler (really!), was a great guy and did an exacting job, taking his time on every detail, and it's absolutely beautiful. We're getting many compliments on the work. Also, Greg gave me helpful referrals for other contractors.
