Mark Wiseman Appliance Service

Our freezer was not getting cold enough and, over several phone calls, Mark spent time to diagnose and suggest no-cost solutions that we could try. When these didn't work, he scheduled a service call. He gave me a ballpark estimate of when he would come and said he would update me on the day of with a more precise time. He showed up exactly when he said he would and resolved the issue promptly with a fair price. He is one of a kind in the home repair world.

Replacement went fine, was quick and relatively inexpensive. I'd use Mark again.

He did some troubleshooting on the phone with me, to zero in on the likely problem. Once he was satisfied with the diagnosis (two faulty igniters), he quoted a price. He arrived on time and went to work immediately. He went out of his way to make sure that the interaction was a positive one. We had a fun conversation as part of the repair. Ovens work great, and he came in at exactly his estimated cost. I could not recommend him highly enough. A real pro.

Mark arrived at the agreed upon time and was thorough and professional. He also replaced a broken saddle valve in the basement that needed to be done before the valve replacement. He was pleasant and courteous and we had a lively conversation during the repair process.

Each time Mark's work and his customer service have been excellent! On occasion he has been willing and able to do trouble shooting over the phone and resolve minor issues. But when required to do repairs, his communication has always been prompt and efficient, he is always on time, and work is performed efficiently. Never needed a call-back. Highly recommend!

He's prompt and doesn't leave you without an appliance when you need one. He's also an excellent diagnostician and can figure out what you have and what he needs to bring from a texted photo and a phone call.

Mark (I assume) answered phone and asked me if my dishwasher had an "air gap". I had no idea. he explained what it was, told me to take the decorative cover off it, and asked if the rubber tube inside was clogged. It was, so I took the garbage out of it. He said. "You fixed your dishwasher." And indeed I had. The whole transaction took less than five minutes and was as professional as could be. I don't wish my self any appliances breaking down; but if one does, I will certainly call this shop again.

Mark is excellent. He will tell you straight up if its cheaper to just replace an appliance. He is great at fixing them. I don't feel overcharged at all (and I'm the type that usually does feel that way). He explains what he is doing and why. He has a strong, directive personality. I probably would too if I'd been fixing appliances for 30 years. I've hired him multiple times. He doesn't work on the motors of "built-in" refrigerators - but a lot of appliance repair people do not. Best not to buy them in the first place.

I spoke with Mark on the phone twice. The first time he offered some options that we could try ourselves, which we did. I then called Mark back and described the latest scenario in detail, because it still wasn't working correctly. He provided good advice on the phone, and did not think he could fix it, or that it was worth fussing. We decided to purchase new machines based on his phone recommendation. This was all at no charge to us. I appreciated his time and honesty and would contact him again for appliance repair needs.

Mark responded immediately, asked very specific questions about what the problem was, what we had done, and then the serial # and informed us that he thought it might be the control board, gave us a clear estimate and possible date for repair. It was the middle of summer and he was unable to come immediately because of so many customer requests; however he called at least two more times to inform us when he could come and to confirm date he would arrive and to insure us he would bring the control board in case that was the problem. He came and immediately checked the control board, replaced it and the refrig started to hum and cool immediately. He gave us some other pointers, suggested upgrading the ice water connector and replaced it.

Quick response, very friendly, and had the necessary parts with him.  Same day repair was a nice bonus.  Mark gave helpful advice on keeping our other appliances in good condition.
