Description of Work: Painted our Craftsman house, which had been badly painted twice in last 10 years. Applied bleach to mildewed areas, pressure-washed the entire house, spot scraped and sanded loose and flaking paint, sanded out caulked areas. Re-caulked failed joints, cracks, etc. Remove pigeon-proofing (chicken-wire) from soffit area, replace with homeowner-provided pigeon-diverters. Use Rodda AC-909 or equivalent satin type paint. Mimic existing color. Prime any raw exposed wood and repaired areas prior to applying finish coats. Apply two coats paint to siding, spraying and backrolling first coat. Apply two coats of paint to trim, brushed and rolled. Pressure wash unfinished surfaces of back porch and steps, apply penetrating oil. Strip and sand the front porch (vertical-grain douglas-fir, damaged by prior painters). Apply 4 coats marine varnish. Strip, sand, and refinish the front door with 4 coats of marine finish. Pressure wash, sand, prime as needed, and apply two coats of non-skid deck enamel to front steps. During all parts of job, protect landscaping and sidewal areas with tarps. Clean up and dispose of all paint chips and flake. Leave at least one pint of each color and type of paint for touch-up.
