job because he was the quickest to respond to my e-mail and then was able to fit me in his schedule the very next day. Lawn now looks terrific and price was very fair as his crew did some additional yard clean up at no additional cost to me. As such, I was very satisfied with Lee's General Landscaping and will continue to employ them to mow and trim my front yard every two weeks from this point forward at a price of $70 per month.
UPDATE: 4/11/2015. Something is deeply wrong with this company. Two years later they send me a bill for $197. 28 with a form that says , We apologize for the delay in billing. I'll say...a bill that arrives TWO YEARS LATE? I called but only received recorded voice mail message to inform them they have misbilled me for services I have never ordered or received.
As with any contracting job, it helps if the homeowner has a detailed list. We had our list, walked the grounds with Ron and were in complete agreement. Ron checked in over the course of the three days it took for the work - we made a few minor changes based on suggestions made by Ron - we're very happy with the 'course' changes.
At one point there were five or six people working in the yard. His team was pleasant and well-mannered, focused, and attentive to detail. This was a hard, dirty job that required the use of wheel barrows for moving most of the gravel and the piles of debrie were moved via shovel and wheel barrow to preserve the surrounding plants. Ron and his team worked hard and were meticulous about clean-up.
Prior to Mr. Le, we had received estimates from three other companies. His was not the least expensive nor the most. Often, you pay for what you get and that was the case here. We got excellent value from a man who takes pride in his work and believes in doing the right thing. This is a man who does quality work.
One last note, many landscapers are commercial - apparently every bush needs to be pruned in either a sphere or block; Mr. Le actually took time to do asthetic cuts. The resultant pruning jobs have really enhanced the two trees he renovated. We will be using Mr. Le's services in the future.
After they left, I discovered that they didn't rake up all the gravel before laying the landscape fabric and putting more gravel on top, and there were even some big rocks left under the fabric. When I called Mr. Lee to discuss this, he was argumentative and his manner was very unprofessional. He spoke to me in a demeaning manner, and I decided against him coming back to look at the problem. I didn't want to deal with him again.
The low rating reflects Mr. Lee's reaction when I tried to discuss a problem with him. I did not get all that I paid for.
