When dealing with Brent eveything got done right away. Now we are dealing with some lady and nothing gets done.
Still wating for it to be resolved and will not recomend this company ever again.
While I was out of town, Brent and I talked on the telephone. He said he would swing by the house and call when he arrived. So we talked on the phone while he was walking around my house looking at what needed to be done. He quoted an estimate of $600.
On May 8, the day after the work was done, a lady called and ask how they were going to get paid. She said the cost was $874, $274 more than the estimate. When I ask why, she started to describe all the work that was performed. I stopped her because it was a one-way conversation. What could I say except he said it would cost $600. The neighbors said there were two guys that worked, "most of the day". I still have not seen nor received an invoice.
So Brent is a really poor estimator or I was gouged. I expect it was the latter. Since I wasn't on site to observe the job, I was in no position to evaluate why the overcharge.
I would only hire him again if I were present while the work was done, and would hold him to his estimate.
We hired 2 men for 4 hours. Even though we have hard rock clay Covington soil, we had expected they would have gotten more holes dug and actually have done some transplanting. The foreman worked at a reasonable speed. If we had two workers of his quality I would give Leaf It To Me higher marks. Unfortunately, the second worker was on his phone or checking his phone a large part of the time. It wasn't until I asked the foreman if the worker had an expectant wife, did he speak to the worker.
The original price was good, but not when you factor in the amount of work not done by the second worker.
Professionalism: As hard working and friendly as the foreman was, he needs management training. He should never have allowed the second worker to be on his phone. The second man should have more common sense to know that he shouldn't be using his phone while being paid to work.
I did call the scheduler and let her know of our experience. She said she would relay the information onto the owner.
So .... if you have a neglected yard that needs a facelift, this will do it. The crew weeded and pruned (gotta say the tree guy they have knows his business) to really make the whole yard beautiful.
They also added some pavers to the side of the house, and were thoroughly professional throughout the process.
Next time I need a real yard cleanup, I will definitely use LEAF IT TO ME.
Have to say Brent and his crew did a fabulous job! He had asked what I wanted in the front, I told him I wasn't a green thumb, and look at the neighbors and do what he thought would fit. He was GREAT, gave me hardy easy to manage native northwest plants. The front and sides look GREAT now and blend into the neighborhood. They hauled out most of the (huge) pile of gravel, just leaving some for borders, decoration and water drainage areas. VERY nice job. The back yard was also a great job. It was simpler (planting wise) but a bigger job in the sense the grassed part of the back was VERY uneven (trying to mow just 'bounced' along the ground) and the back half of that was a total torn up mess due to a previous chicken coup. They brought in LOTS of new soil/top/seeds and leveled the upper back and filled in and leveled the lower back. MUCH MUCH nicer now. Also trimmed and reshaped several old shrubs that had gotten out of hand, more even looking now (NOT butchered, just trimmed back nicely).
Very nice job guys! Thank you!
