Lau Construction

During a wind storm in Feb 2011 some shingles flew off the roof of our house.  The house is newer, but is no longer under the builder's warrantee.  We contacted our realtor for advice and she recommended Lau Construction.  They came out within a day or two.  The worker was professional and polite.  He took a sample and drove to the store to purchase a pack of matching shingles.  He installed the replacement shingles and left a nearly full pack of shingles for future projects.  Start to finish he worked on our project for maybe 90 minutes.  The cost was $100, which included the cost of materials.  I was so pleased that I added a $25 tip.  "A" grade on that experience.

In May 2011 we discovered a leak from the vent for our bathroom fan.  We contacted Lau to come out for a bid.  It took some time and effort to get them to the house.  Their bid for this job was $350.  The claim was that we needed to replace all of the vent flanges on our four-year old roof.  That solution didn't make sense, but they stuck to their story.  It was the same worker who worked on our house three months earlier.  I called a different roofer who came out and made the repair in 15 minutes.  Literally.  He said it was an easy fix.  My experience with Lau Construction this time was a "D".  I assume they would have replaced all of my vent flanges, but the work was not necessary.

They were very good with their price and quality. They were very competitive with the other quotes that I got. They cleaned up well and left no mess behind. I would use them in future if required.

Installed GAF designer shingle that they had not previously installed. Took additional care to review specs & do right. Also installed Solatube skylights when general contractor had not done so in time for roofing. Was not expressly part of roofing work, but did not charge extra. Manufacturer also gave us wrong info on roofing coverage so Lau had to return 2x to finish(not their fault)when add'l product arrived. Again no extra charge. Great job. Very conscientious & pleasant to work with.

I thought they did a fine job. They cleaned up every day after their work so that the yard really looked nice. They did the job very efficiently in just a couple of days. Everything went smoothly.

They were great! They were courteous and punctual. The bid was more than fair for the results and it accounted for everything. It was more than affordable for the quality of the work. The roof looks great and I have had no problems with it. The crew was friendly. They worked fast and had the whole thing done in two days. They were very diligent about cleaning up the mess.
