I agreed to the price and they started the job the following week. He is an owner operator and has an apprentice helper, which I really like. His work was outstanding and very complete. He took care of all the permits and inspections.
Job is completed and I am very happy with Larry's Electric.
Larry came highly recommended by a colleague who recently had his entire house rewired included a panel upgrade. I contacted Larry over the phone and scheduled an estimate. He showed up on time (down to the minute) the day we agreed upon, and was very professional throughout the entire process. In addition to listening to my ideas, Larry made many sensible suggestions that we ultimately incorporated.
After much deliberation, we decided to go with a full bedroom rewire, including a hardwired smoke detector per Seattle building code. We also decided to upgrade our panel to 200 amp service so that we could accommodate future upgrades.
After the demolition phase, Larry came out and rewired the room in one day. All of the boxes were professionally installed and spaced out from the face of the studs to compensate for the drywall thickness. All of the wiring within the outlet boxes was neatly bundled, capped off, and tucked away so the drywall contractor could quickly route the outlet holes.
Larry spent the next day and a half replacing the main panel, which required relocation on the basement wall. Needless to say, this was a complex affair that required many new wire runs. The new box is now in a much more convenient location with all circuits neatly labeled. All of the permitting and inspections required for the job were taken care of by Larry. He even called Seattle City Light and scheduled a hookup time for the new panel. I was only required to be there for the 15 min install from the pole to the house.
The last stage of the job was accomplished after drywall and paint. Larry came out and did the final outlet and switch installs, and even mounted my closet and bedroom light fixtures.
In the end, I couldn't be more pleased. Everything looks very professional and functions perfectly. I will definitely be utilizing Larry's services again to rewire the rest of my house.
It took him under two minutes to ascertain the problem, and he explained it to me in simple terms that anyone could understand. Of course it turned out to be an easy fix, but I liked his honesty and integrity. Even though it was obvious I had no idea what I was doing, he didn't try to make the problem seem any more complicated then it was.
He charged us a reasonable fee for the service and the parts, and was on his way.
From start to finish this was probably one of the best experiences I've ever had with a service provider in our home.
