The job was delayed because the gingerbread supplier was taking a long time to prime the shingles. The first day on the job he asked me about the spacing for the shingles. It turns out the manufacturer's recommendation is way off and he grossly underestimated (by 40%) the amount of shingles needed. I was extremely ticked off about this because if he had accurately estimated the materials, I would have ordered them over the Internet for much less. The website had a minimum order of $1,000. His original order would have been less than that. The correct amount would have been enough to make it worth ordering from the website. He charged me more than $1,000 more than I would have paid if I'd ordered the correct amount myself. His workmanship was poor and he did a lousy job cleaning up. I spent more than three hours picking up after he left and two months later I still find debris. He left holes in and red paint on my white house where he screwed his scaffolding into the house.
