"The customer is mistaken about the materials installed and the services provided. I will attempt to arrange a meeting with him in his home to go over the invoice and inspect the work."
Excellently.
Robert Konsker (owner) was VERY communicative from the onset-emails, phone calls offering consults and booking options. Impressive.
Although Robert did not provide the direct service he was clearly the responsible contact. Sean was the provider and he was GREAT: arrived exactly on time, kindly removed his shoes :), explained clearly what was going on with our projects, went to store to buy the replacement and needed items (I was unaware of what might be needed so was unprepared), worked efficiently and completed all the work well within the two hours I purchased and hoped he would. I much appreciated him.
I HIGHLY recommend this company and would call upon them again.
We hired Robert again a few years later (2012-2013?) to install our Ikea Kitchen counters. Robert cared what we did and what the overall look would turn out to be. For example, the newly sheetrocked ceiling wasn't done well, as it wasn't a level surface when done by another contractor. When we suggested we wanted the counters to be flush with the ceiling Robert was very hesitant to do this as he knew much better than us that we that we would be very unhappy with the finished product. He was insistent that my wife and I rethink our request and we're so grateful we did. He did a stellar job for the work we contracted with him to do.
On the other hand, when we needed Ikea counters reformatted/redesigned for a different area of the kitchen he gave us a bid that we thought was way higher than it needed to be. I'm not sure why he bid it so high, possibly because we were "difficult clients" and he had enough of us. But we found another contractor who did this job work who we were very satisfied with. This other contractor did the work at less than half the price Robert bid.
What was frustrating working with him was he was often not able to finish the work in our home when he said he would as he consistently had other work that came ahead of ours. This work was done at least 3 years ago so there's a chance that he's changed his business practices.
Our festive Christmas lights are saved, just in time!!
Our outdoor Christmas lights went out last week, and we discovered our outdoor outlet wasn't working. We purchased the Angie's List Big Deal for electrical work, and upon calling Konsker, they indicated they were booked out a ways. However, given my pathetic situation in really wanting my Christmas lights back, they were able to work creatively with their schedule and squeeze me in for the work. I wasn't able to be there when Derek came, so my neighbor was the one who was on site. Derek came and was able to locate the GFI outlets in our very messy garage (with the creative idea of looking at our neighbors' mirror-image, and cleaner version of our townhome to find where they were on the walls), and reset them. He saw the need for bubble covers for the outdoor sockets and ran out to get them and install them, even as it was dark and cold and rainy outside!
We so appreciate Konsker coming to the rescue, fixing the electrical problem, and hey, saving Christmas, all for an amazing price. Thank you, Konsker!
We were very pleased with everything he did. He also made several helpful suggestions to improve our house,
without pushing for work for himself. The entire work that he did took several months, a bit longer than
we had expected, but he was working on several projects at the time. His pricing was very competitive.
Though primarily an electrician, he has expertise in virtually all aspects of home repair.
I would hire him again.
