They were fine. They did what was requested. They helped us find a house, and they delivered as expected. There was nothing positive, nothing negative. The price was the standard real estate rate.

It went really well. He was very good, honest and very professional. He did it for free in the hopes that when we sell the house we would go to him and we will.

All in all, the process has been absolutely fantastic.  Having a short-sell our first home because of a forced relocation is a trying and difficult experience, but John has led  us through this process.  As it stands, we have mutual acceptance on an offer and are just waiting for the bank's approval and that's largely in part to all of the hard work that John put into getting our house out there, and making the buyers see how great of a house it is.

John helped us find and purchase our new house in 2011.  We had been looking for over a year, and during that time, John was very patient and persistent in finding new homes for us to look at.  We looked at a lot of homes… All through the ins-and-outs of financing, John did a great job providing advice and information.  When we finally found a house that we were interested in making an offer for, he was very good at communicating with the other agent, and the finance team.  At first the purchase appeared to be pretty straight forward, but after the inspection, a major issue with the home became apparent.  We had to negotiate a very expensive repair with the sellers.  John did a great job helping to sift through estimates, meeting contractors, and troubleshooting throughout the process.  The negotiation went well, and In the end, the repairs were made to our satisfaction.  The purchase went off without any further hitches.  Start to finish, John was professional, thorough, and did a great job communicating with all parties.  We would highly recommend him.

John did a great job for us. We needed to sell a home in West Seattle and move north of downtown to accomodate our commutes to work. John came in and helped us prep and price our house for sale. It was a buyers market and John did a great job working with us to price our home correctly and do everything we needed to do to maximize the price we got for our home. John also helped us find the perfect house in a great little neighborhood and did a great job negotiating the price down to fit within our budget. John was patient, persistant, working with us for the better part of a year to complete both transactions.

He was a great resource for information for myself. He did an amazing job at marketing my home and he provided excellent information on the neighborhood so I always knew where I stood in our area with the real estate market. In addition, he is really fun to work with and down to earth and very accessible. He has a great sense of humor.

John was wonderful in the search process. He was knowledgable, patient, and responsive. He found great houses for us to view and was very helpful when we toured them with him. I really felt he had a lot of integrity and was there to support us and I would have loved to see the process through with him if that had worked out for us. I highly recommend John.

We started the process of selling our house, but didn't end up selling it. We still haven't sold the house. We didn't list with him because the economy was very bad. He was very helpful and followed up. He was very timely. One time his daughter was sick, but he was very helpful. He was very easy to work with and very easy to get hold of. I have no complaints whatsoever. He was very responsive.

As a former agent myself, I was very impressed with Johns knowledge of the business. I felt very comfortable having him on my side. From the beginning I felt "no pressure" and he was always easy to work with and very personable. His communication was excellent, all my calls were returned promptly and he kept me up to date as needed. As an added bonus, the total commission was only 5.25% instead of the usual 6% most agents charge. I felt he earned what I paid and would hire him again for any real estate needs.

As first time sellers, we had many questions about the home selling process. From our very first interaction with John, we were impressed with his easy going personality and No Pressure approach as he patiently answered all of our questions and addressed our concerns about selling during a slow housing market. John guided us through each step in the process and provided us with his professional expert opinions, while allowing us to make the best decision to suit our needs and expectations. What we liked most about John is that he is approachable yet professional at all times, and he engaged in a marketing strategy and advised us on a price point that would ensure our home would be attractive to prospective buyers. The marketing materials and website he creates are among the best we ve seen in the business, and we were very pleased with the staging advice and photography used to present our home. John ensured that we were informed of all of our rights as sellers and always served as our advocates in all interactions. He is very skilled at negotiating with buyers agents in a such a way that our transaction was a win-win for both sides. We highly recommend John Madrid as an agent for both buyers and sellers- our only regret is that we moved to the East Coast and won t be able to use him again as we search for our new home!

In any relationship, the key element is communication and trust, and John embodies both of these in his business transactions. From the sale of our first home in Ballard, to the purchase of our new home in Greenlake, we felt that John was working in our best interest as buyer and seller. He also was extremely prompt with communication, including driving miles to find cell phone reception in the woods of Michigan to check in. His data and analysis was balanced with common sense and the willingness to explain anything - we felt that he was realistic with the market conditions. Hopefully we will not need his services again, since we are now in our Dream Home! We would not hesitate to recommend John to our friends, family or colleagues.

It was very smooth considering my short time frame (2 months) and the fact that I was a first-time buyer. He was available to look at properties within a day of them being listed. He was very knowledgeable of Seattle neighborhoods (he's a native here).
