IMAR LANDSCAPE DESIGN

The owners are lovely, and they squeezed me into their packed schedule, so I wish I could give a better review. Overall it was decent enough. The owner suggested using cement dividers leftover from another job to create the edge around the patio gravel area. The concept was good and the one piece of concrete he showed me looked good, so I was happy about the suggestion. Unfortunately what I got was a set of dirty mismatched pieces (different lengths, thicknesses, and color) and poor installation. They were placed inconsistently, so the line is not even close to parallel with the fence it's directly beneath. It looks like a do-it-yourself piecemeal afterthought. During the estimate visit, the owner sold me on the company's quality-over-quantity approach. It's the reason I went with them. So it was pretty disappointing to get the results I was left with. When I contacted the owner about it, he simply stated that he though it looked better than wood (the initial material suggested). Pretty much completely missing the point. Unfortunately, even though most of the job turned out OK, I probably wouldn't recommend.

He responded to my email promptly and we met in person the following day. He had a crew come in and they did exactly what he told them to do. I am having him come back and add a few more boulders, an alpine tree, some gravel to the parking strip, and a few more plants to the landscape. He was very professional and easy to deal with.

Wojciech had great ideas for my project. He thoroughly understood what I wanted to do and that I wanted to stay within a certain budget. He offered suggestions and his obvious passion for his work, extensive knowledge, and comprehensive evaluation was very impressive. Had I not changed the scope of the project I would have felt very confident to hire Imar Design.

I am delighted with the look so far, appreciative of not having a maintenance headache as the nice weather approaches and in a position that allows me to complete the project over time. Once I made the call, Jola got the project done and it looks great. I have confidence that I will be working again with Jola to get additional improvements to my property and I'm confident that every dollar I spend will come back to me in property value. A great experience.

If you're going to spend the money, it better last into the future. We absolutely love our design, and compliment Wojciech on his continued availability and attention to the little projects that keep things looking nice. Trees grow -- they need pruning; our bodies are older now, we need help weeding. We want to make additions or changes, he is always available and with great ideas. In short, I wrote an A+ report years ago for Angie's List but it appears to have been purged. So, I want to go on record now that I continue to recommend and applaud the professionalism, imagination, and design aptitude you will find working with Wojciech. He does more than landscape -- he gives you outdoor rooms that grow more beautiful every year.

One expensive tree had started browning in less than a year and I was concerned and had him come out and take a look at it. He said it would be fine and that it had probably lost 1 year of growth due to insect damage. Shortly thereafter (within the 1st year), the tree completely died and when I asked him if he would replace it -he said he nor the nursery he bought it at, is responsible for insect damage. This year we lost another 2 trees due to the heavy rain in the winter. I asked him to look at these and he confirmed that they were dead and said he is not responsible for weather conditions. I asked him about another tree (that was not planted to begin with and planted only a year later) as this looked really bad and dead too. He did not provide any feedback after looking at it (when I asked if it had to be cut) and I am guessing he has no hope for this one too. So, 3 trees died this winter and all in all we have lost 4 of the 8 trees planted after paying a considerable amount of money. Wojtek was good to work with and I thought it all went well to begin with. His trees were expensive, but I hoped they would be good quality and worth the money. I am willing to accept that 2 of the trees died this winter due to heavy rain. I am just really upset and disappointed that he is not accountable for anything or at the very minimum for the other 2 trees. He also did not offer to remove the dead trees for us. Please be aware that he basically will not take responsibility or replace ANY trees that he provides under ANY circumstances. This is a really bad policy for a small business owner and I would hesitate to use him in the future.

We would like to landscape our backyard, which is a sloping hill with a view. Contacted by email for estimate over the summer. He was out of the country, so waited several weeks for visit. That was fine, reasonable and I was not in a hurry. Before the appointment I spoke to him by phone to describe the scope of the job (neglected space, needs staircase built to access it, plus landscaping). He came to our house on time the one time we met, he spent quite a bit of time looking at the property, said he would give us a plan or estimate. After several more weeks, I did not hear from him, so I contacted him again. He apologized for the delay and said he would get back to me. Never heard from him again.

I think the best thing about them is the owner of the company. He really listens well. If you have anything to be done, he will make sure that is done. He gives personal service.

The owner showed up to do the estimate and provided a detailed work breakdown with cost. We left out some of the items based on cost. The project took one day to complete and the yard looked good after years of neglect.

I thought he was very good. I had ideas on the design and his ideas were much better and it is a very pretty wall. It stands out. I definitely would use him in the future.

They provided an estimate via email and stuck to their estimate price. They got to the job very quickly and everything looked great.

I am happy to write this letter of recommendation to any prospective client of IMAR INC. Garden Architecture and Maintenance. In 2008 and2009, my wife and I hired IMAR to design a low maintenance garden and install all of our landscape, retaining walls, stone patio and plants. I am pleased to say that all of the work was completed in a professional manner and finished within the scheduled time. Thus, my wife and I are not only very pleased with the final results of our landscape project, but also with our decision to use IMAR. We have known Wojtek and his staff for more than two years now and can confidently state that he and his company are committed to customer service. In addition to the quality work they perform, Wojtek and his staff have been always responsive to our requests and to any concerns we may have had. I have worked with many contactors in my personal and professional life and IMAR ranks at the top of my list of good experiences I have had.

Wojtek was very personable and helpful in providing us with what we wanted. He was readily available and promptly returned all calls - the work was done quickly and professionally. We would definitely use IMAR Landscape Design for any future projects we have.

He is great! I cannot say enough great things about him. The company has grown leaps and bounds, but he always gets back to me within a good time frame with a multitude of suggestions. They happily do whatever we ask of them. They have never overcharged me for anything. They even have pictures of our landscaping on their website. We will continue to use them in the future and would recommend them to others.

Wojtek responded to our call promptly and met with us to discuss our project. In the beginning, we were undecided between natural stone or pavers for our patio. Wojtek described the pluses and minuses of each material. He also shared his opinion regarding which material and design he thought would match best with our 80 year old brick home. After meeting with several landscape designers, we chose Wojtek because of his personality (he is a really interesting and engaging person), because of his obvious knowledge of his craft and because of his prior recommendations (i.e., Angie's List). Cost was not really a factor in our decision as all of the designers quoted a price around $18 per square foot to install concrete pavers. It took approximately 5 working days for Wojtek and his two helpers to complete our project. There was a couple day delay waiting for the back ordered Yorkstone pavers but otherwise the project went exactly as planned. We are very pleased with the results.
