Description of Work: I bought a Yellow Handy Man Groupon and made an appointment through Hometask.com, which handles all appointments for various franchises with different names. They took all my information and set up an appointment for a couple of weeks in advance. I received an e-mail confirmation of the appointment. A few days before the scheduled appointment I received another e-mail confirming the date, time, and what was to be done. This was from the individual who was supposed to do the work. His name is Andrey Shcherbinskiy. The night before the appointment I get a voice mail on my phone from Hometask.com, stating that the they no longer serve the Bremerton area, appointment is canceled, sorry. When I go to the website today it still appears that I can book services in Bremerton through the original person who was supposed to be here! I don't know if they simply didn't want to honor the Groupon or what the problem was. We arranged our schedules to make this appointment work. We went out and bought all the things needed for the handyman to use. To receive a phone call the night before is very unethical. They should not have made the appointment and since they did they should have fulfilled it. I will never use this company or any of it's franchisees again.

 + -1 moreWhat a total rip off. I too bought the Groupon Yellow Van Handyman service for 2 hours, valued at $160. I arranged to have Andrey Shcherbinshiy come to the house. He came on time and talked like he had good experience but everything was done fast and poorly. I had 2 hours but he finished in 1 hour. Everything he did I will have to redo, and some has already had to be fixed. He tore apart my front steps and screwed on extremely crooked. Now they are more of a liability. I called him twice and asked if he would straighten the step. Never got a reply. Then I called Home Task and they called him and told me he refused to come back that the steps had dry rot. Well then why did he tear them apart and make them worse. Does he have no sense? I did not know that these are completely independent guys working through Home Task, a call center only. So if they do bad work no one will back you up. I might as well of just called someone from craigslist. I recommend you save money and stress and do not use Home Task or Yellow Van Handyman unless you know the contractor and have references. What a rip off.

 + -1 moreI had always used Mr. Handyman for service around my house but I received a Groupon coupon for 2 hours of service from these guys for $49, which sounded too good to be true. Stupid me. It WAS too good to be true. I bought the coupon, contacted HomeTask Handyman (aka Yellow Van Handyman) and made an appointment. I received confirmation emails from both HomeTask and Groupon, as well as notification that they had billed my credit card. I took the morning off to meet with the guy and he pulled a now show. When I called HomeTask they told me they had no record of the appointment, even tho I had received a confirmation email, which I forwarded back to them. At this point, I?m out $50 and I hope I haven?t been scammed. Groupon has my credit card info after all. Additionally, this has been a huge waste of time and money for me (I work on a commission basis) and I certainly won?t be calling these guys again. I guess I?ve learned my lesson: Mr. Handyman may cost more than $50 for two hours but they show up on time and they do great work.
Description of Work: I had planned a batch of interior tasks but the guy never showed up at the appointed time.

 + -1 moreHe's $160 for a two-hour minimum. He also charges travel charges. He was pleasant and prompt.
Description of Work: I explained the emergency bathroom faucet leak. The pipes underneath were leaking badly and he performed the work. He also because it was a two-hour minimum installed a lock on the door and corrected a lighting fixture.

 + 1 moreTom is reliable, is extremely competent and he is easy to get along with. He shows up at the scheduled times and we will continue to use his services. He is a little pricey from what I paid before but it s worth it because of the quality of his work. He charges by the hour for labor and it varies based on the job.
Description of Work: Tom, the Handyman. cut and trimmed the pyramid alice cedar trees in my yard. There were 12 trees in all and I had him trim off the top ten feet and sheer the insides. He has worked in other areas of my home and has also installed fencing. For the trees, I paid the hourly rate and it took him 3 days.
