What a total rip off. I too bought the Groupon Yellow Van Handyman service for 2 hours, valued at $160. I arranged to have Andrey Shcherbinshiy come to the house. He came on time and talked like he had good experience but everything was done fast and poorly. I had 2 hours but he finished in 1 hour. Everything he did I will have to redo, and some has already had to be fixed. He tore apart my front steps and screwed on extremely crooked. Now they are more of a liability. I called him twice and asked if he would straighten the step. Never got a reply. Then I called Home Task and they called him and told me he refused to come back that the steps had dry rot. Well then why did he tear them apart and make them worse. Does he have no sense?
I did not know that these are completely independent guys working through Home Task, a call center only. So if they do bad work no one will back you up.  I might as well of just called someone from craigslist. I recommend you save money and stress and do not use Home Task or Yellow Van Handyman unless you know the contractor and have references.

He's $160 for a two-hour minimum. He also charges travel charges. He was pleasant and prompt.

Tom is reliable, is extremely competent and he is easy to get along with. He shows up at the scheduled times and we will continue to use his services. He is a little pricey from what I paid before but it s worth it because of the quality of his work. He charges by the hour for labor and it varies based on the job.
