Dan Ventura struck us both as being personable, intelligent, and highly knowledgeable about air quality. He carefully toured the entire house, commented on things he noticed, and took readings which he then sent to us in a follow-up report with his recommendations. Those recommendations do not involve installation of fancy or expensive equipment, but are primarily focused on increasing the air exchange in our home with the use of our existing exhaust fans (because, as he put it, "the solution to pollution is dilution"). He also pointed out a change we could make to our furnace setup that might improve air quality.
I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone concerned about home air quality. Not because Hawk is pretty much the only game in town (which they seem to be at the moment), but because we feel we received excellent service at an extremely reasonable price.
"Thank you for the positive review, I am glad that our services worked out for you."
"[member name removed], I am glad that you were happy with the work that we performed. We always try to stay ahead of any potential health and safety concerns, and love providing additional education and testing to interested home owners."
"Thank you very much, we are glad that the report provided the information you needed. Seattle City Light's subsidized energy audit program has been a great way for us to get cost-effective audits to home owners."
"We appreciate the kind words, and were glad that our inspection services were able to provide the information that you needed."
"Working with Puget Sound Energy has given us the ability to help home owners save money on utility bills immediately. I really appreciate your recognition of our careful and thoughtful approach to these services. Thank you for taking time out of your day to make this review."
When he arrived on site to test my flooring he was extremely professional and was able to answer all the questions that we had and even did some infra scanning from the basement to see if the water leak we had sunk into the basement at no extra charge to help us determine our next steps (Pretty amazing in this day and age) He was very patient with my very curious 3 year old while he was onsite and did everything with a smile. We got our lab results back the next day and received back a detailed floor plan of our problem and the type of asbestos we were dealing with to make it easy to hand it over to a asbestos removal company for bids.
Having to deal with asbestos isn't something you ever want to have to deal with of course, but if you want to test to be sure these guys are who you should call. Money WELL spent.
"(member name), I am glad that you appreciated the work that was performed. We really enjoyed meeting your family, and would be happy to help out in the future. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to write this kind review."
I received two quotes for the job (primarily installing an HRV, but also other HVAC-related items). Hawk Environmental came at a lower price point, was far more attentive to detail than the other contractor, and was more willing to work with me to figure out the best HRV unit and retrofit installation option.
Dan answered all of my questions, taught me a lot about HRVs and indoor air quality management, and even came back an extra time to run final "after" measurements just to make sure. He is a true professional, helped save me money by removing some unnecessary items from the original work plan, and was a pleasure to work with.
Highly recommended.
