We had used this contractor before on our previous home. He had done a great job and we thought we had a good business relationship with him. When we needed a bathroom/bedroom remodel on our new home of course we called him again. The job started out great. He gave us a very reasonable estimate and we scheduled a start date. The first week everything went smooth. Demo went great, they were clean and timely. Then everything went downhill. The second week they were consistently late. The work was poorly done (examples: holes left in new flooring around the door jams, uneven mud job on the new drywall, missing texture around the doorways, and these are just a few). The contractor and I reviewed these issues and made a list of the things that still needed to be completed for the next week so that we could get back on track. I also wanted to review the budget because we had been paying him on a weekly basis and we had already gone over the original estimate amount. He assured me not to worry and he'd get everything wrapped up next week. Based on our previous experience with him, I trusted that we were okay. The following week he did not show up when I called him he said he had a family illness and would be there the next day. Understandable...things happen. Same story the next two days. Now it's two months later and I haven't heard a word from him. Can't get him to call me back despite several voicemails and emails. Bottom line. DON'T use this contractor.
