Green Sherpa

Gregg at Green Sherpa provided a Home Energy Audit and did an excellent job. He started out asking about any concerns or problems I had noticed and then followed up with a thorough inspection of the home. Both the Blower Door test and thermal imaging were extremely helpful in visualizing and identifying problem areas that I would never have found on my own. I felt it was very useful to have an independent contractor come out to evaluate my home versus some one who would have an interest in selling me services. I would definitely recommend Green Sherpa.

Gregg was amazing. We walked through the house as he was explaining to me all the items he was noticing as I was asking a lot of questions. Once we did our initial inspection he did heat tests and other tests around the electrical sockets noting items. As I am a new home buyer he took the time to explain to me how construction was made and why there were some inefficiencies around the house. I felt that his service has been the best of all the contractors I've had in my house. He is independent which allowed him to be frank and not try to sell me some package deal with other parties. The blow door job revealed quite a bit of things I never imagined would cause the house to loose heat! Using the heat camera we were able to identify places where insulation was missing from some of the walls. His previous experience as a general contractor gave a very informed perspective and knowledge on what to do for the older home we have. For an honest, knowledgeable and experienced company to do you energy efficiency audit I highly recommend Green Sherpa.

I am very glad that I had this energy audit of my home.  I had been considering installing new windows for several thousand dollars to make my home feel warmer in the winter months.   It turns out that installing windows as a first priority would not have made my home any more comfortable due to the fact that my house has no installation and many air leaks.  

Arrived, introduced selves, talked briefly about the house and its history and reasons.  I requested this explained difference between assessment and audit and explained value of blower door test.  Checked attic, all places in house, went into crawl space and explained all problems to me answered all questions included me in assessing lease exposed by blower.  I have good motor prioritized re-mediations steps.  Replaced all light bulbs with satisfactory CFI ones.  Very pleasant and professional.

He determined that the walls were not insulated so part of the upgrade was to hire a contractor to blow in insulation. When the contractor came, they found that some walls were insulated and some were not so they had to do a whole new inspection which cost another $400. There are visible marks on the wall from the prior blown in insulation job; a person experienced in that kind of thing should have recognized it. He was a very pleasant guy and he took a lot of time to answer a lot of questions, but the service just wasn't done right.
