Filter reviews by service
for a pool deck paving project that began May 2014. In the process of doing this they punctured
the water line circulating water between the pool and the pool housing. Instead of reporting the damage, taking
responsibility and fixing it, they simply paved over the problem. Of course, this meant that the water level
dropped and the water no longer circulated.
I had to hire a company to find where the puncture was located and
another company to dig up the pavers and fix the leak.
Fortunately, I had taken many before, during, after pictures. Otherwise I would have been out of luck.
I would have been out of luck because when I sent a claim for my expenses to fix their mess to their insurer,
Liberty Mutual, Gilirani Pavers denied causing the problem, said it was there before they installed the
pavers, and that my pool was old and unused at the time of the paving project. This was in July 2014.
Their lying and absurd denial of culpability caused nearly four months delay in being compensated for
their actions, as Liberty Mutual was staunchly Gilirani-supportive, even with
photographs and statements of those who worked to fix the problem and get my pool working again.
Without my documentation, not to mention dogged determination, my claim would surely have
been denied.
I finally enlisted the help of the Washington State Insurance Commissioner and was prepared to
take legal action against Liberty Mutual and Gilirani Pavers Plus before a supervisor at Liberty
Mutual actually engaged her brain, and I finally received compensation in October for the money I spent
fixing their problem.
Gilirani Pavers also broke an expensive Brown & Jordan table-top and failed to take responsibility, among other issues.
I suggest that you find out if the paving company you plan to employ uses Gilirani Pavers Plus as their subcontractor and,
if so, flee or you may very well be very, very sorry.
