It went wonderfully. This was by far the smoothest construction project we have ever done (which included the original project of finishing our basement). Sean and his crew came by for an estimate and knew exactly what they were doing. They confidently told me they had seen this type of thing before and that we were ideal candidates for their floor system. They were pretty booked up, but our floor was a mess so they managed to squeeze us in within a matter of weeks. We needed that time to get the basement cleared out so they could do their thing. They were friendly and professional and got an estimate out to me quite quickly. The price was much lower than I expected, which was great because we had not budgeted for a massive remodel.
The week they were here, we arranged for their entry to the house so we didn't have to rearrange our schedule to accommodate them. They worked quickly and with minimal disturbance (I work from home and had no trouble getting my work done while they were here). They kept their work area neat and, though they left some equipment behind, were very respectful of our space and made sure to ask before leaving anything anywhere. Sean always answered my texts or returned my phone calls quickly. Best of all, they were extremely gracious and accommodating when we hit a hiccup. More water had come into our basement after we had believed we had addressed the problem. The patiently waited for us to get it sorted, delaying their ability to complete the job (and thus, get paid), but they were so understanding and nice about it. The people who fixed our leakage issue ended up cutting a hole in the newly laid concrete, but Sean kindly offered to patch up the hole and come back to finish the polish and stain at NO ADDITIONAL COST. He said we had "been through enough". Having your basement flood is so stressful. It was great to have him and his team be so empathetic about it. I wish Sean was a general contractor because I would hire him to do everything if I could. I would absolutely recommend Epic Floors. Any Seattle home with a finished basement would benefit from the beautiful concrete floors that they provide.

Horrible!! The floors now have holes. We had to cover with carpet. The floors will need to be torn up and re-poured.

The owner is a great guy and was excellent to work with. Communication was an issue from day to day on the job - I was never sure if they were done for the day or had just left on a break. The amount of time spent on the job each day was less than I was first told so the estimated 4 day job ended up taking 6 days. In the end we learned that there had been some staffing issues that caused the delays. It would have been understandable to get this info as the job was going on instead of being kept in the dark and ending up frustrated. Ultimately, we are very happy with the floors and would use Epic again but be checking in each day with the owner to be sure the job stays on target.
