We described what we wanted done - pour a new driveway, expand it for a 3rd car, improve the walkway to the front door, and add a walkway along the side of the house. This company was able to start the next week. We chose to form stamp the driveway and front walkway, and to add color to the concrete. They even agreed to cut remove old tree roots that the side walkway would be poured over. Even though the roots took most of an entire day to remove, they did not complain. The concrete was formed, poured, and worked on over about a day and a half. They called in extra workers as needed and everyone worked continuously without much of a break, working very hard in my opinion. While for the most part the driveway and walkways were done well, there were a couple of spots that needed patching, which they quickly did. This company submitted a bid several thousands of dollars below 2 other estimates, and also below what I expected to pay. Indeed, they did have to ask for about $500 more that the contracted amount, because they poured the concrete thicker (thicker = stronger, longer lasting) than they first planned, needing another delivery of 3 yards of concrete. Throughout our project, they were courteous and professional. Although English was not their language of origin, we were always able to communicate clearly. For future customers, be sure to spell out exactly what you desire in the contract. Since they are not strong in English, you may even need to help them write the contract (as long as they agree to this). Even simple projects have many turns and requirements, be sure that it is all spelled out.
Description of Work: We had an old, cracked and sunken concrete driveway that this company removed and replaced with a new concrete driveway. In addition we had them concrete over the walkway to our front door, the steps up to it, and the landing in front of the front door; and also add a concrete sideway along the side of the house. The driveway was originally 2 cars wide, but was expanded to provide outside parking for another car. The driveway and walkway to the front door was form stamped and colored.
