Douglas Clark - Structure Home Inspection

This is our second time buying a home and Doug did an outstanding job as our home inspector. Bringing with him 20+ years of general contracting experience he was tremendously thorough and well informed on all of the crucial infrastructure (structural, electrical, plumbing, etc). I accompanied him on his inspection (5 hours) and he took the time to pause and describe in detail each problems/benefits he found - arming me with a clear understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the home. More importantly he put his findings into context for a home of this age, contrasting the more crucial issues against the minor ones. He never exaggerated a smaller issue or played down a larger one. Overall, he was honest and forthright about the condition of the home without consideration of the sale. His well organized report included over 30 pages of details and 200 clear, well-exposed pictures. Not only did his thoroughness pay off for me in bringing the cost of the home down by thousands of dollars, but it has informed my efforts in obtaining bids for the work that needs to be accomplished. I came away feeling as though I'd gained the knowledge equivalence of living in the house for several years. I was well informed, knew exactly what to ask the seller for, had the proof to back up my claims and knew precisely what needed to be done to repair the issues. I highly recommend his services.
