D&D was suggested slightly different work (no caliper replacement) that saved me money I didn't need to spend.
They were very professional and did the work quickly.
UPDATE: After having the brakes for over a year now, I have been disappointed with the quality. The brake pads throw an excessive amount of dust (much more than the OEM BMW pads), and tend to be noisy at very low speeds (especially if it damp out and the pads are cold).
When I need new brakes, they said, it will be time to do the rotors and upgrade to ceramic pads, but my car was 100% fine for now. I was really impressed with their customer service, honesty, and kindness. The quote they gave me for the future rotors/new pads work was $200 less than my previous mechanic and $600 less than the dealer. Thank you Dand D, I will be a repeat customer!
We would highly recommend Dand D brakes to anyone needing brake service, and in fact have told many who were curious about how it worked out with the brake repair on and quot;Big Blueand quot;. The only thing I was disappointed about was that they are not open on Saturdays.
A arrived on the Friday morning and within 5 minutes Larry had my Jeep up on the rack and was busy inspecting the brakes. After a brief inspection Larry comes over and says that there is a slight problem, the rotors are too thin to be turned (resurfaced). He showed me the specifications from Jeep and the measurements from the rotors on the car - there was no doubt that the rotors had to be replaced. i was afraid that I'd just gone from $350 to upwards of $1,000 to do this job. Larry told me to go sit down, take a deep breath and he'd make a phone call.
A few moments later Larry comes back and tells me that he can get me out the door with new rotors and brakes for about $550. I told him to go ahead and do the work and asked him when I'd be able to pick up the Jeep. I expected that it would take considerably longer to complete the work, as they had to order the rotors, calipers and other parts. Larry said that he'd be able to get it done, as originally promised, by 11:00am.
I walked down to the iHop a few blocks down Aurora, had a nice breakfast, and about 10:45am Larry called my cell phone to tell me that the work was done. The work was excellent, done on time and for far less than expected. D and D Brakes was the only brake shop my father trusted and the only place that I'll ever trust to work on the brakes of my cars. They'll never lie to you, they'll never attempt to sell you something you don't need (or more than you need) and they'll give you 100% value for every dollar of your money. Oh, and if Larry tells you that you need something, you really need it. Larry doesn't play games with safety, he and Don (the owner) take their job seriously, and they take your brakes seriously. There is no better brake shop anywhere on the west coast.
