The original bid was just to replace the floor boards. Turned out a significant amount of the framing needed to be replaced after discovering major dry rot. The new bid was reasonable and the work was completed without major delays. End result is great!

We had Dale's out previously to do some other tasks and didn't have any problems. The second time around was a frustrating experience. The people who do the scheduling are unresponsive, and do not follow through when they say they will. It was difficult to get a time set up for this work to be performed and it happened after our big BBQ instead of before because of this. Delayed or lack of response to emails, voicemails, etc. Dale initially came out to review each job and took notes about what we wanted done and materials his guys would need. Well after the trouble getting a date scheduled, I received an email a couple of days prior asking for a list of what we wanted done because there was a "loss of information". This frustrated me, I questioned it, but I just wanted to follow through with the service and finally have it completed rather than find someone else. Dale called me and when I called him back he said that he had heard from the office that I was anxious about something or other. He also made some excuse about doing so many of those meetings... (a professional would have a system in place to file and save that information). I told him that I wanted to make sure that I wouldn't be charged for any time spent by him or his crew figuring out/discussing what needed to be done or time spent going to get materials since we discussed it in detail prior. He assured me that I wouldn't be charged and said that he himself would meet the guys at my house the morning of to tell them what to do. When the morning of came, two guys showed up having no clue what they were there to do and no clue that Dale was supposed to meet them here. I went around the house explaining to these guys what all was supposed to be done and they got started. an hour or so later Dale finally showed up smelling strongly of cigarettes and cologne to make sure everything was ok (which it was no thanks to him) and then left. The guys that did the work were actually very nice, respectful and I would say they did a decent job. Not bad, but definitely not top quality by any means. While the convenience and reasonable pricing are a draw for Dale's, I will never use them again and recommend that you don't either!
